What does this have to do with how the bowl games will play out. All I am saying is OSU will win the NT. If they end up playing LSU, then LSU will probably win. Mainly because its a home game for them. I just dont think LSU will make it. They certainly dont deserve to go in in front of Oregon. Besides Va Tech early what have they done. Win a bunch of close games against overrated SEC schools. The SEC hasnt proven a whole heck of a lot more than the Big Ten out of conference. This is all I am going to say about this because we can sit here and bicker all day about the SEC. I am not going to change my mind. They are overhyped. I am saying OSU will win the NT and a Big Ten team will win either the Citrus or Outback bowl. If I am wrong I will come back and say I am wrong.

Heh...heh heh...heheheheh...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. It's nice to dream and all...but that ain't happening. Ok. But when it does there will be a lot of college fb fans in this country who will have to eat crow. Also after thinking about the Illinois non-fumble. You cannot review a play that the ref has ruled down. I forgot that rule. I think that is why they should rule them all fumbles and let the replay sort it out. No there won't. Ohio State will get absolutely destroyed by LSU in the national title game if they make it there. The reason I would give LSU a advantage in that game is because it will be a home game for them. Not because they are a better team. They also wouldnt win by more than a TD. I also dont think they are going to make it. LSU is a better team, they are going to make it, and they will win by 20 or more. You did watch last year's title game right? Ohio State is a worse team than the one that got their asses handed to them that day. That was last year. It was also just one game. If OSU played Florida again I am pretty sure it would have been a lot better game. Either way it is totally meaningless to this years game

Also the Big Ten now has 10 bowl eligible teams. I cant wait until the Big Ten wins the National Title and Wins one of the Citrus or Outback bowls against the SEC

For those whinning about the refs in this game. I didnt see any complaining about the 2nd terrible Personal Foul call against #2 in the first quarter. Oh thats right it went against Michigan, that cant happen. Also MSU 48 Easy Money 31 Cant wait for whinning butt, we are superior unless the other team cheats PSU game next week

Michigan can't stop him and they can't stop Wisconsin on 3rd down. It should be a shutout right now. 23-0. Only a terrible call by the refs has given Michigan any points whatsoever. This is a team that will be playing for a BCS bid next week? That's a joke, and everyone knows it. To their defense they are playing without their starting QB and RB. Wisconsin at home is a pretty tough game also. Also since the little 11 is so bad it is interesting to see that if MSU, Iowa and NWestern win the Big Ten will have 10 bowl eligible teams. All 3 teams are winning

I think the 84 WS being played at Comiskey was pretty common knowledge. They just didnt make it official because they didnt have to. -
In the late 70s Illinois and Northwestern played to a 0-0 or 3-3 tie. I think they both ended up 0-9-1. I might be wrong about the details but it was something along these lines.

But Illinois has another running option. So its not like teams just key Mendanhall. Also Hart has more yards per game so Mendanhall isnt overwhelmingly better in stats or anything. Also if we are going by stats than Javon Ringer should be in the conversation. He shares carries with Caulcrick, Has a lousy QB and is still 2nd in the Big Ten in rushing.

Reading this I am guessing what he means by young talent is players that are already playing MLB. Not depth of minor league system or anything like that. I couldnt argue with much I seen if that was the standard. As for James not being very good. I think he is like the Doyle Brunson of Sabermetrics. Probably not the best anymore but the most famous. Also James was never a complete stat geek as some would say. 1 of the reasons he quit writing the Abstract back in the late 80s was he was sick of people who didnt watch the games and understand the players. They just read a stat sheet and that is how they evaluated players. James is kind of in the middle of old school and Stat geek. -
Cubwieser I agree with your assessment of Hart. I wasnt saying that I think Hart is anything better than a 2nd rounder. I have just dont think Mendanhall is that great. He isnt very elusive. Yes he has speed and hits the hole hard and is hard to tackle. These guys are much more easily tackled in the NFL though (A-Train, TJ Duckett). I have only seen Illinois a couple of times this year so I may be wrong.

Something to add to all of the discussion and a new thought 1. I like Mendenhall. I am not sure he is as good as Illinois fans think he is though. Would he really be drafted ahead of Hart? I know Hart is small and not very fast. He has great vision and moves well in the hole though. 2. Does it really matter how the game is listed. Maybe in the future Andy you should just list the games and let someone else worry about it. Or just go with the line in the paper. If its over 7 call it a mismatch. Less than 7 call it a good game. 3. New thought. Callahan is going to get fired in Nebraska. I am not argueing one way or another about this. I was wondering, is his record and situation not a lot different than Charlie Weiss. He has had good recruiting classes. He has had some success. What is really the reason why Callahan is going to get fired and Weiss is safe for at least another year.

I am not against getting Carl Crawford. I understand that he is still probably not in his prime yet. I also see that he has been steadily improving so far. I just dont see a great player by looking at his stats. I wouldnt put Hill in any trade that involves Crawford. Unless straight up. I think other teams will be offering more though. I think Crawford has a couple of stats that really appeal to a lot of GMs (BA,SB). He doesnt draw walks or hit for much power though. He is probably over valued and I would be against getting into a bidding war for him.

How many more years does he have on his contract? I think he would do ok. But not 15 million a yr ok for several more years

I agree with you Ohio St sentiment Cubweiser. I absolutely think they could beat LSU on a neutral field. I also think that they would give Oregon and Oklahoma good games and would not get blown out.
