  1. If the Cubs managed to steal Heyward, their offense would be in an even bigger hole. They pretty much have to land one of Chris Davis or Jason Heyward if they realistically want a shot at the division. Yeah right. Tommy Pham will probably win the triple crown leading them to back-to-back 100 win seasons. It won't matter when the Cubs win 101.
  2. This signing really puts the Cards in a perilous situation with their SP. Barring any moves, here is what they look like in 2016: 1. Wainwright 2. Martinez 3. Wacha 4. Garcia 5. Lyons
  3. Jimbo. 100% Jimbo Absolutely. If Jimbo had said yes, Les was gone.
  4. Staying with the "unusual" ideas theme - Javy plays 3B and Bryant goes to CF. He's played the corners (OF), has decent speed and arm, and has no future at 3B because of his height  . Then we can spend all the money on pitching. Whoever plays CF had better be a plus defender. Even average defense there will make for a really shaky OF.
  5. It looks like Les is gone from LSU. His $15M buyout? No problem. http://www.nola.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2015/11/les_miles_tenure_at_lsu_may_be.html#incart_sms_app
  6. Les Miles may be coaching for his job at LSU. http://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/14016697-128/rabalais-strong-indications-lsu-coach
  7. I think you're selling aTm short. LSU is very beatable. Brandon Harris is the only QB who can make Jay Coker look good, and LSU's O-line is not as good as usual.
  8. If the opposing QBs playing New Orleans were one player, they would have the highest QB rating in the league, and the highest in over 5 years. Kirk effing Cousins had a perfect rating yesterday and pushed franchise passing records.
  9. Just got through listening to Payton's press conference on the radio. What I gleamed is that Dennis Allen is going to take over DC duties and that Ryan is still "on staff", at least for the time being. He also took a moment to rag on a reporter for asking about the Browner play when he hit a blocker instead of going for the tackle, saying that the reporter clearly had an agenda since he didn't get along with Browner. This is the guy with whom Browner had a spat in the locker room last week. Payton's act is really starting to wear thin with fans in light of the team's play and some terrible personnel decisions from him. This might be one of those "time to part ways" instances after 10 years in NOLA.
  10. If the seasons started in October, the Hogs would be the best team in the country.
  11. SEC is going to be a little better this season, but Arkansas will be NIT at best. LSU could be sneaky good, and overall the caliber of coaching league wide is improving.
  12. If the Cards don't resign Heyward, they have to be targeting Chris Davis. I'd expect either way, they'll then go next tier starter with Zimmermann or Leake.
  13. Kevin Sumlin, you might should have gone for that next big job when you had the chance.
  14. Verne and Gary are awful these days. They don't even know what's happening on the field anymore.
  15. I've had to be resucitated twice. What a crazy ending.
  16. What is a Tyga?
  17. The Saints are going to get back to .500 today, and go on a nice run against a weak schedule and get me hopeful again. Then they will blow a game against someone like the Jags to crush my spirits once again. I am sure of this.
  18. Random Georgia fan's tweet:
  19. This has been the worst postseason coverage in TV history. What a train wreck.
  20. I'm going to get some perverse joy out of seeing Duke roll it up on Miami.
  21. Texans the worst team in football? That situation is embarrassingly bad. Mallett missed the team plane yesterday and had to fly commercial.
  22. I think so, but the Saints are Belichik-like secretive about injuries. In general, I think Drew is still only a 5'10" QB, and some of the athletic plays he was able to pull off a few years ago aren't possible now. Also, I had no idea the Colts were this bad.
  23. True, but they show flashes that they are really about to gel as Harris starts to look better. I still think that if LSU can play to their potential that they're right there with the best teams in the country. They'll beat Bama, IMO.
  24. Present.
