  1. Cubs hitters flailing at sliders low and away has been a thing since at least Sammy Sosa.
  2. Just trying to do this right for opening day at least.
  3. Sogard gets Covid by mid-April, prompting the return of Nico to Chicago as the Cubs lose the extra year of control. Ricketts fails to see the irony. Kimbrel is more than adequate and the bullpen is a strength. The Cubs, Cards and Brewers are all within 4 games of the division lead by the deadline. Willy still gets dealt. Javy bounces back to near MVP caliber levels. JHey slips back to pre-2020 awfulness.
  4. So, Indiana pays $10M for Archie Miller to go away so that they can hire Mike Woodson?
  5. I hadn’t seen one minute of North Carolina basketball this season, but they looked pretty awful. Roy Williams has to be out of there soon, right?
  6. Oh ya, let’s not forget another one. Their CURRENT basketball coach is on a federal wiretap buying players. My gut tells me very little happens from all of this. The NCAA are cowards. Not sure why, but the silence from the national sports media about all of LSU’s misdeeds is deafening. You’d think that stealing money from kids with cancer to pay football recruits would have been one of the biggest stories of the decade in the sports world, but nope. I’ll admit that I likely am blinded by having a very strong anti LSU bias, but I think they’re going down worse than that. An LSU beat writer got confirmation today from the US Dept of Education that they were opening an investigation. It’s Title IX, sexual abuse, wire taps of the head BB coach offering money to a recruit, blatant coverups by people in the AD, and just for kicks, a sweeping under the rug of Les’ multiple allegations of sexual harassment by the BOT. It’s as shitty as it gets.
  7. Oh yeah. It’s tough to keep up with it all. I hope they burn LSU down. They’ve been doing this horsefeathers for years.
  8. Not sure if anyone has been following this story, but it is getting very ugly for LSU, who is clearly trying to use Les Miles as a distraction from the serious allegations against the university. In a nutshell, Les had several sexual harassment allegations made about him eight years ago by women in the athletic department staff. The AD at the time wrote a letter to the LSU BOT that Miles should be fired for cause, only to be overruled as Les was popular and winning at the time. On a seperate rail, LSU football players were accused of physical and sexual assault by some female students, about which the university did zilch and the players were not disciplined nor was it made public. A female LSU tennis player was apparently beat up repeatedly by RB Darrius Guice, which was covered up by the tennis coaches and the entire athletic department. Again, no reprimand whatsoever and Guice was allowed to continue playing. Add to this the improper recruiting investigation in football and the ongoing wire tap scandal in the men's basketball program and it is looking a lot like Baylor a few years ago, or at minimum a lack of institutional control. I have to think civil suits may follow.
  9. This is the correct answer.
  10. To me, it's pretty much all about Kimbrel. If he locks down the ninth, the rest of the bullpen should fall into place and be pretty good. If he fails, the whole thing could fall apart. The rotation is going to be better than it looks on paper. Welp, I’ve got some bad news.
  11. Wait till I tell you who Ferndando Tatis Jr's dad is.... Half the Blue Jays lineup reads like a late 90's All-Star game.
  12. It gets worse.

Ok, I had been drinking a bit. Still, I do think he could be a poor man’s Tyson Chandler and have a solid career.

I watched this. Gafford is exactly like he was in college. A great rim protector, runs the floor and a great finisher. He has so much potential but he should have stayed in school.
  15. Not sure why this is. Probably due to the short layoff after last season, or maybe analytics causing longer midrange shots to go away. Or maybe one and done college players? :dontknow:

Yes, please. The Kira Lewis Jr era in NOLA needs to begin. I know a lot here have mentioned this as a possibility but he’s been a real disappointment for the Pels.
  17. You say this like it's a bad thing. Oh, it’s fine. Again, not my thing, but it’s ok. It just sounds exactly like some early 80’s movie montage where the high school class is building a robot to help with their big science project.
  18. I had to google who this guy was. Not my jam. That Blinding Lights song sounds like an 80's aerobics competition or the fight scene in Flash Gordon. Have you been living under a rock for the past 8 years? No, I just am not really into pop. My fiancé is, however, so I do hear some of her stuff. I honestly cannot tell the difference between some new music she listens to and British new wave from the early 80’s.

  20. LOL
