  1. As a 90s kid I must protest. The 90s Sox were pretty cool, though you’d never have caught me admitting it back then. Frank Thomas, Robin Ventura, Ozzie, Ray Durham a little later...and they even had Carlton Fisk, one of the better catchers anyone will ever see. Bo Jackson and Tim Raines at times, Harold Baines, though none at their best by then. Ellis Burke, Jack McDowell, Julio Franco and John Kruk kind of randomly, among many others. These were good teams that could have gone far, and if not for the strike, really might have. But the best Chicago baseball in the 90s was absolutely the Cubs in the early 90s. Ryno, Andre, Greg Maddux, Rick Sutcliff, Shawon Duston, Frank Castillo, more journeyman 3bs than you could shake a stick at. George Bell too for a short time. And then the best moments later in the decade too, with Kerry’s emergence and 20 strikeout game, plus I guess Sammy’s rivalry and chase with McGwire for those more comfortable PEDs than I. Kerry was the bridge from the Ryno/Harry years through the letdowns in 03 and 04 and 07 and 08, all the way through to Rizzo and the rise of the generation we’re Joe starting to see move on. And not just that, but a damn good pitcher and example of perseverance too. I will freely admit to incrementally inching toward being a White Sox as well as a Cubs fan of late, abs listening to Len on Sox radio every now and again will only increase that. But no, as amazing as Frank Thomas was, and despite the powerhouse that those Sox teams were, they never held a candle to what was going on in Wrigley in the 90s... I'd assume this was a joke but already got in trouble once. Still going to assume this was a joke though. Yeah, I watched copious amounts of baseball in the 90’s and the Cubs sported “aces” like Danny Jackson, Mike Foster, Steve Trachsel and Jaimie Navarro. The White Sox were a good to solid team for pretty much the entire decade.
  2. Serious question because I have no idea, but is there any chance the White Sox could overtake the Cubs in popularity in Chicago? Their broadcast teams are pretty solid now and the team is about to be worlds better.
  3. 100%. Not only is he an ass clown, he’s said some pretty Fox Newsy right wing garbage over the years. Wonder if that makes him the pick.
  4. Not even thinking about potential opponents. Making the playoff would be new ground for A&M so that's where my mind is at the moment. No matter who you play it's going to be a tough opponent. But Clemson beating Notre Dame is the only possible way those teams take 2 spots in the playoffs. BAMA is in. Ohio St is in. If BAMA beats Florida, that opens up a slot. If Notre Dame beats Clemson I have to think the Aggies absolutely have a shot but I’ll bet the the ACC gets two teams if Clemson wins. FWIW, I think Florida can beat BAMA which means two SEC teams.
  5. He might throw an NFL touchdown before Taysom Hill.
  6. In the 2nd quarter, and the Broncos are currently ahead in passing yards, 0 to -8. I really hope Payton isn’t so stubborn as to not put in Winston.
  7. This Saints vs Broncos game: Taysom may go undefeated until Brees returns but no way is that guy the future at QB. Free Jameis. Sean Payton threw nearly every down last week. I would not be at all surprised if he goes all run today just to be a dick. This game will be under 2.5 hours long.
  8. You'll be able to watch the CBS late game: https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2020&wk=12 Dude, I’m watching the Saints v Broncos. It would be nice for the Bears to help the Saints tonight, though.
  9. I'm in the only television market in the US that is forced to watch this game, and only this game, in the afternoon. It had better be good.
  10. Keep in mind that the Broncos cancelled practice Friday and had only a light practice Saturday to prepare.
  11. Wildcat formation every play. It’s Tebow Time.
  12. I mistakenly said that the Saints color rush road whites were the best alternate unis in the NFL. The best are the Lions on Thanksgivings, all the way back to Barry Sanders. Hope all of you are finding some peace whatever you’re doing today.
  13. Bummer, he was fun to watch. Hope it’s not serious Done for the year
  14. Yeah, news alert, Payton knows more about football than we do. Taysom looks better every drive. Still, the defense is lights out...again.
  15. Apparently, Sean Payton has decided the best way to begin Taysom Hill’s s first start is to pass every down and ignore Kamara. Awesome.
  16. There was also a terrible targeting penalty and ejection against the Hogs. They’ve been on the wrong side of some godawful officiating this season. Derp, just saw your other post.
  17. Well, Payton has been saying for 3 years now that he envisions Hill as a future NFL starter. So I guess he may as well start the experiment now. Color me shocked at this move. So, if Taysom gets hurt, that means we have one healthy QB on the roster? Does that mean that Payton is going to curb some of Taysom's designed running plays (percentage of his snaps anyway), which is the thing that makes him so valuable in the first place? I don't get it, but who knows with Sean Payton. I guess once and for all, the Taysom Hill is the future debate will finally be settled, one way or the other. BTW, in Training Camp, the Saints were practicing quite a few plays with Kamara at the Wildcat. Supposedly he can really throw.
  18. Between the Anthony Davis and Jru trades, the Pelicans now have Zion and Brandon Ingram, tons of cap space and 13 first round draft picks in the next 8 drafts. This feels like the Dallas Cowboys after the Herschel Walker trade.
  19. And how does this affect Week 12 of the College football season? Geez. I’m surprised I was able to type by 7:39pm last night.
  20. Brees out with a rib injury. It’s Famous Jameis time in NOLA. They’re going to beat the 49ers, but we’re going to see how this goes. They’ve got ATL and Denver the next two weeks. Knowing Sean Payton, he’s going to install a deep route passing game this coming week.
  21. Hugh Freeze, part deaux?
  22. GET OFF MY LAWN ALERT! The mindless yuk yuk locker room chucklefest that is every single sports show on TV makes everything but the actual games unwatchable for me. Podcasts are about my only source for sports related media anymore.
  23. Arkansas has its best team since the 90’s and is a legit Sweet 16 team. Eric Musselman has been a great hire.
