  1. There's nothing dangerous about that precedent Yeah, I'm struggling to see what merits such an alarmist tone. We all have garbage we've put out there online, and nobody forced us to do so. If you get called out for it, it's not hard at all to own up to it and apologize. And if you're on the Brewers, you'll get a standing ovation for it.
  2. What is wrong with you? Nothing at all. You might want to relax a bit. It’s a thread about a gimmick HR contest and you’re questioning a couple of my posts. Seriously? You failed to read the room as badly as I've ever seen. Twice. But go ahead and whine about the Cubs offense again like a lunatic if it makes you feel better.

  5. I fully anticipate javy hitting 30 hrs in the first round, and unable to swing the bat in the second.
  6. My 11yo son's a huge Baez fanatic, to the point of getting a blonde mohawk and temporary MLB logo tattoos for the back of his neck during youth baseball season. Of course, he was a huge Castro fan before that, so I don't know if he's the norm.
  7. Even with all the struggling he's still an above average hitter with a good walk rate and phenomenal K rate. His yearly splits are amazingly consistent, so I'd expect some serious regression in the second half to the norms.

  9. Also super happy how mad their selection is making people who have no idea how well they're doing this year.
  10. Generally I don't get too caught up in who does or doesn't make the All-Star team, but I'm super excited that Javy and Willy will be there.
  11. The Cubs offense has scored 80 runs over the last 10 games, and leads the league in OBP.. The Royals have scored 67 runs over their past 30 games. Wait until the second half nothing, this is easily the best offense in the NL right now.
  12. Since June 20, when the Cubs score first they are 0-4. When their opponent scores first, they are 6-2.
  13. Kane makes the penalty, then I can only assume heads to the bench for a moustache and fake sunglasses so he can also take the next 4.
  14. Geiger apparently left his cards at home. Colombia has probably deserved at least one straight red for a headbutt, if not several more yellows, including an assistant coach giving Sterling a shoulder shiver when heading off the pitch for halftime.
  15. There are certainly worse options (aka the prior 2 hires), and the result today (and v Sweden) was a necessity to make that a possibility.
  16. July 1 first-half offense musings: - Willson Contreras has been a slightly better Buster Posey this season. - Anthony Rizzo has been the worst Cub regular hitter to this point. However, his batting line is still above average for all but 4 MLB teams (Cubs, Red Sox, Yankees, Astros).
  17. Twins get 25 runs in a 3 game series and 0 wins.
  18. Yes they got rid of triple jeopardy as long as it's a play on the ball. It's a yellow plus penalty.
  19. Related: the AL is terrible this year.
  20. Nice of the Cubs offense to give Lester 4 days of rest between the 2nd and 3rd innings.
