  1. He should have been down in Iowa for a few days to do a rehab assignment. The guy needs to work on his strike zone judgment. Soriano's never been about strike zone judgment, though. If anything, he needs to work on his ability to make good contact with the balls he swings at. That's about the only way Soriano could reasonably be expected to be productive.
  2. He's cooled off significantly. I'm curious how productive Pie has been since Lou and Gerald were working with him. I have to think Pie has been at least .275/.330/.450 since then.
  3. Ehh, I can understand why Lou had Z in to start the inning, with the bottom 3 of the order up. Just didn't work out. At least he went to Marmol in time. And if Marmol is going to pitch so often, it'd be nice if he could avoid automatically throwing three balls to every hitter he faces.
  4. Is anyone warming up in the pen? I'd really like a nice quick inning with Z still in there, but Marmol needs to be ready in case of trouble.
  5. So people aren't allowed to show their displeasure when players make stupid decisions? No people can but a lot of the people posting have criticized not just the play. They have said the things they said a month ago. Not a good player, shouldn't be playing, isn't gritty ... etc. No, but the play was extremely gritiotic.
  6. So, since you didn't incite a reaction the first time you thought you'd post it again?
  7. I doubt Fukudome sees a good pitch either.
  8. Not really. There's been a lot of borderline pitches called strikes, but they were all very close either way. There haven't been any Eric Gregg moments. it seems you are the only one who thinks this way. I'm comfortable with that. MLB umps are way better than they get credit for. The reason strike zones look so wide is because of the camera angle. Am I wrong, or are most of the so-called "wide strike" calls on the outside portion to right-handed hitters? That's the optical illusion of the camera angle coming from the right of the pitcher. I'd be more inclined to agree with you if this were the first game they ever used this camera angle on TV. However, it's not, and the overwhelming majority of us have in fact seen other games from this camera angle, and those pitches appear a good 5-6 inches outside.
  9. Well, sure, but how do you feel about McCready?
  10. Could be Hart that gets sent down, seeing as he's redundant on the roster and has options. Of course, Lou likes to have 12 pitchers.
  11. I've always been under the impression that if it isn't the batter that makes the third out, if a run crosses the plate before the out, it counts. So, someone getting doubled off a base, similar to someone doing a double play in reverse (where the throw goes to first base first, then to second to tag the runner), any runs that score in the mean time should count.
  12. Eastern Conference composite records: 2006-07: 583-647 2007-08: 582-648 1 game worse this year. Considering how much better Boston and Orlando are, and the fairly safe assumption that 9 teams in the West were better than everyone in the East aside from Boston, Detroit and Orlando, it's not a far cry to say most of the East got worse. EDIT: Although, one could say the improvement of Boston and Orlando were countered by the collapse of Chicago and Miami, so the overall performance was about the same.
  13. sorry, Mr. McCready, but "gentlemen" do not bang 15 year olds In fairness, by 1998 McCready was 23.
  14. It was in the sarcastic green. Sarcastic green is a much darker green. What you used was seizure inducing green.
  15. Lions pick Andre Fluellen, DT, Florida State
  16. I'm a little disappointed that Zbikowski is gone. Thought he would've looked nice in the Bears' secondary. For as bad as that ND team was, they were somehow 2nd in the nation in pass defense.
  17. Yeah, Woodson's still available, along with Ainge, Booty, Brennan.
  18. C'mon, pick faster, I got 15 minutes!
  19. Where on defense do you think they have a hole to fill? Safety depth is really the only place I can think of. D line is always a good thing too. I think they'll get another O-line guy, and a QB at some point here. They could use depth everywhere, including LB and CB. I'm surprised mostly because historically Angelo can pick defensive players very well, and can always get a diamond in the rough 2nd/3rd round. The Bears are pretty thin this year defensively, so I'd be surprised if some depth wasn't acquired in some way.
  20. I'm a little surprised the Bears haven't picked any defensive players yet, but I can't complain too much about the guys they did pick.
  21. What did they give up? Probably about half of what Carolina gave up to get Dallas's pick 3 spots earlier. Hey get it right, it was Philly's pick 6 spots earlier that we allowed ourselves to be bent over for. Fixed now. Continue to revel in misery.
  22. What did they give up? Probably about half of what Carolina gave up to get Philly's pick 6 spots earlier.
  23. Cowboys apparently really wanted Jenkins.
  24. It's as if the Titans GM just picked a random name on the draft sheet after Mendenhall went one pick earlier. Kind of like that assassin in The Jerk. Titans GM: *closes eyes and puts finger on paper* "Chris Johnson, sounds like your typical everyday NFL running back. That's the pick!"
  25. With like 5 of the 32 teams going BPA, those 5 teams are going to end up with some really good players this year.
