Brewers pitching has kind of an ominous streak going this year: They have yet to give up fewer than 4 runs in any game to this point. To this point, they've given up 5, 4, 5, 5, 7, 7, 9, 7, 6, and now 5 again tonight through 8.
UNC Wilmington hires Buzz Peterson away from Appalachian State. That should give them good practice for the next coaching search in a year or two. 6 job changes for Peterson in the last 10 years (twice from Appalachian State).
Since mid-october? LOL, that's basically the beginning of the season. :-)) 11 hours. Too geeked up for the first game. Need to pace myself. Since the last time the Hawks played Nashville (the home and home sweep, putting the Hawks 8 up on Nashville instead of 4), the Hawks have still been better than Nashville by 4 points in a stretch that includes the terrible 3-week stretch after the olympics for the Hawks.
I think it's absurdly silly to do something like this so early, because it's beyond useless. You could pretty much put whoever you want on there, because it doesn't matter.
The 2010 Houston Rockets: 28-24 against the West, 14-16 against the "least". Also, I thought this was a playoff thread, not a "lottery teams discussion thread".
This was probably the best game I've ever attended (and stayed the whole time). Game 2 of the 2003 NLCS was a better atmosphere, but the game wasn't so much great as it was fun. The Soriano booing was a little crazy, but he didn't do himself any favors in the outfield today. Booing him at the plate, though, was a little silly considering at that point (the 5th), he had the only decent hit of the day to that point for the Cubs.
If Atlanta wins tonight, they clinch the 3 seed, so the Celtics would have nothing to play for (Atlanta won the season series 3-0). So, go Hawks and Pistons.
Is there a limit to how many players you can have on the injured list on the team? I'm up to 3 now, just didn't want to break any rules. EDIT: NVM, 3 is the limit. Now I just hope nobody else gets hit with a line drive.
- Chuck (HBC) had 8 starts. His last start of the week was Carpenter. - Roadie (Kid Rodelo) had 8 starts. His last start of the week was Feldman. - Karen (Sock it Thome) made an illegal substitution midweek when Magglio Ordonez replaced Michael Bourn.
Montero likely needs surgery after taking one off the knee and tearing the meniscus, so that's awesome. Roberts hasn't played in 4 days and likely won't play this week, so it'd be nice if the O's just went ahead and put him on the DL so I could make use of the roster spot.
I seem to remember a discussion about it when it happened last year, and the suggestion was to make the penalty progressively worse the more times an owner did it. Can't find the thread right now, though. (and it doesn't help Adam at all in this case, either way)
