  1. The OT coupled with the LA win assures Nashville is the 7 seed.
  2. The four games that matter in the NHL today are all tied, 3 in the third period.
  3. Fun with early season numbers: Theriot is hitting .182 so far this season, good for 4th among Cub regulars.

Tossed in Casey McGehee (just shoot me, he's the best option) for Brian Roberts, because Roberts is not playing, and should be on the DL, but the Orioles don't want to do it for some reason. Montero is injured too, but I don't want to drop any other bench players.
  5. NHL playoffs update: Eastern Conference - Washington has clinched the President's trophy, and thus the 1 seed. - Montreal has clinched the 8 seed, so the first round series will be Washington-Montreal - Pittsburgh has clinched the 4 seed, and Ottawa has clinched the 5 seed, so another first round series will be Pittsburgh-Ottawa - Whoever wins the Buffalo-New Jersey game will play the winner of the Philadelphia-NY Rangers game in the first round in the 2-7 matchup. - The Buffalo-NJ loser will play Boston in the first round. Western Conference - If Chicago wins, they're the 1 seed and San Jose is the 2. Chicago loses, SJ 1, Chicago 2. - Vancouver is the 3 seed. - Phoenix is the 4 seed. - Colorado is the 8 seed. - Detroit/Nashville/LA is a mess, as there are many possibilities for any of them to get any of those seeds. The only easy thing is if Detroit wins, they're the 5 seed.
  6. That's not true. They can get the 4th seed. I thought division winners get the first three seeds ... is that no longer the case? No, not the last few years. The top three seeds are seeded regardless of division, and if the 3rd-place division winner is worse than one of the wildcards, they're seeded 4th. If the top three teams in the conference were somehow all in one division, I assume that the 4/5 series would be the other two division winners. No, the division winners are all top 4 seeds, it's just the best second-place team that can move up as high as the 2 seed.

  8. That's not true. They can get the 4th seed.
  9. If we're abandoning reality, can we trade Deng and Hinrich for draft picks, and sign Bosh and Joe Johnson too?
  10. I think Rose missed the last one on purpose (at least that seems reasonable), but yeah.
  11. NHL playoff seeding: East: - Washington is the 1 seed and has clinched the President's Trophy. - New Jersey and Pittsburgh are currently even, with NJ holding the tiebreaker (12-0 H2H point advantage) - Buffalo has clinched the Northeast and trail NJ/Pittsburgh by 1 point for the 2 seed. - The NJ/Pittsburgh runner up will be the 4 seed. - Ottawa has clinched the 5 seed. - One win each for Boston, Montreal and Philly, or one loss by the Rangers and they're all in. West: - San Jose and Chicago have clinched the 1-2 seeds, with Chicago holding the tiebreaker. - Vancouver has clinched the 3 seed. - Phoenix has clinched the 4 seed. - Nashville, Detroit, LA and Colorado have clinched the 5-8 seeds. Nashville has clinched a better record than Colorado, but all else is undecided.
  12. All work and no play makes Homer something something.

You can change SP to get your seven starts in. Other than that, you are generally correct. I know Karen is new, she might have just not caught that in the rules when she switched out Bourn for Ordonez today.

I don't mean to be a stickler, but I thought you couldn't make changes mid-week on the lineup aside from injury concerns.
  15. You should be the very very last person on this board to accuse anyone of acting stupid. And there is a difference between acting stupid and actually being stupid. I can change. You can't. so you admit you're acting stupid then, hmm hmm hmm I thought he was admitting you were acting stupid.
  16. That's a new franchise record for points. They're assured of finishing with a better record than anyone other than Washington and San Jose.
  17. If Nashville loses to Phoenix tonight, Nashville becomes the most likely 7 seed in the West.
  18. Eager gets 2 minutes for "holding the stick". He's got to know by now you just can't do that kind of thing on national TV.
  19. Unless they slide to the 8 seed.
  20. Sharks just beat Calgary. If the Avalanche hold on, the 8 playoff teams are decided in the West. All that's decided for seeding at this point is that Vancouver is the 3 seed. San Jose/Chicago are the 1-2 seeds, and Colorado can't get the 4 seed.
  21. Also, the Hawks win tonight set a franchise record for wins in a season with 50. They've also tied the franchise record for points in a season at 107.
  22. I know you can be as pessimistic as anyone, but even with the tough closing schedule I don't think the Hawks finish 7th. :)
  23. They were visibly unhappy the whole game, which says more than the final score about what happened out there.
  24. Also, the NCAA tournament has spoken: The ACC was the best conference this year, while the Horizon came in a close second. Big East and Big Ten tied for third, with the SEC and Big 12 coming up a little behind them in fifth.
  25. Watch the top half of the first, and then erase it.
