  1. I hope LeFevour's a good blocker.
  2. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bears draft Tony Washington in one of the last two rounds. Angelo never would, but still.
  3. The Cubs are actually hitting better with RISP to this point than they are normally. The problem isn't knocking runs in, it's getting guys on base to knock in.
  4. No, with Z moving to the pen, it's still the offense.
  5. Biggest drawback to tonight's result is now Noah has to go back to Cleveland next week.
  6. And that is why the Vikes traded with Detroit. Plus they have Favre for a year.
  7. Umm QB rating is a individual stat. QB rating isn't the end all be all. It's major weakness is that it gives way to much credit for having lots of yards per pass attempt and TD%. Neither of those was Orton particularly good at. He had a good completion percentage and a good TD-INT ratio. He is an average to above-average QB. Saying he is well-blow average is just plain wrong which is what I have been arguing. QB rating is attributed to an individual, but it is so very team dependent it's unreliable.
  8. According to ESPN.com's analysis, the Broncos drafted Tebow to be the assistant QB coach and spiritual leader. Seems like a lot to pay for that kind of thing, but hey, a need's a need.
  9. Clausen is totally going to the Vikes now.
  10. No, nobody's reached far enough to draft you yet, but keep an eye out for the next Oakland pick.
  11. Still the wrong thread.
  12. Cubs announce Ramirez to bench to "bolster the pinch hitting roster." "This is not a panic move, and makes all the sense in the world," says Lou.
  13. Maybe he'll go to the Nets in an attempt to land the top 3 draft picks there.
  14. They used it as leverage to get a new deal, and the new deal doesn't limit the tournament to 68 teams. There's still room to expand, and they likely will in the next few years.
  15. Who says they have? I think this is highly likely just a baby step. Very possible but a big reason for going to 96 was the tv deal. They have a 14-year tv deal now based on a 68-team format. Perhaps CBS/Turner would decide they can get a lot better return on their investment if they add the extra round but from the NCAA's standpoint they have what they wanted. They have a deal through 2014, and 96 teams is still on the table during the deal.
  16. It'll be 4 play-in games among the bottom 8 AQs. In that event, I don't see the point. Do we really need more mediocre .500 teams from big conferences in the tournament? Any form of expansion was going to make this happen. This type of expansion does more to minimalize the efforts of the small-conference tournament champion than a 96-team would.
  17. It'll be 4 play-in games among the bottom 8 AQs.
  18. I think this is worse than the 96 team expansion idea.
  19. Wow. I guess if said team didn't want to pay first-round money and needs a QB. But I don't see him being worth that. Well, say you were picking in the top 10 and were going to take Clausen anyway. Would you trade Clausen straight up for Roethlisberger? I think a few teams would.
  20. I could see Oakland being interested.
  21. Bill Simmons felt like doing a mock draft: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/100420 He actually goes so far as to make fake draft trades. The most interesting thing he does is let Clausen fall to Minnesota at 30.
  22. They've done it. They gave up 1 run over 9 innings.
  23. Well, it's likely not a Pirate.
  24. And Joakim Noah.
  25. NL pitcher, not a New York player. "Semi-big" name.
