  1. Damn, Knox had one guy to beat there.
  2. I'd watch for a fake...but I guess they won't fake.
  3. I guess it wouldn't be a Bears thread if everybody didn't go bat-* insane in the first half about an opposing score.
  4. That was a good play call, perfect call for the blitz the Bears used.
  5. Bears will be fine if the defense and special teams can pick things up a bit. So, I think they'll be fine yet.
  6. An opposing team was bound to make a FG against the Bears eventually.
  7. The reality for me is this: - If they fall flat on their faces, it won't have anything to do with talking about the Super Bowl. - If I'm a player on a football team, the goal every year is to win the Super Bowl. 2/3 of the way into the season, if we're still in position to do that? Sure, it'll still be a topic of conversation.
  8. Rob Neyer: Why isn't Ron Santo in the Hall of Fame?
  9. Where do you sit?? Our seats are in section 131, about halfway up. Farthest row up underneath the roof, so that if it's raining or drizzling and the wind isn't howling in from left, we stay dry, and catch shade on day games until about the 7th inning during the summer. Even with the first base bag, good view of the entire field except the far right field corner.
  10. I wouldn't be too sure that they wouldn't have given it to Cuba or something.
  11. As someone whose family has had season tickets for years, we're frequently given the option to "move up", so to say, in the quality of seats we have. We haven't taken upgrades for a good 15 years, though, since our seats are in a great viewing area and the location is great for many types of weather.
  12. Nate Silver, being as diplomatic as possible, on the questionable selection of Qatar for 2022: Qatar a questionable World Cup host
  13. How do you have SF at 8-8? They have Green Bay and San Diego left. Did you look at the rest of the teams he had?
  14. By estimated 2010 population, Qatar has a total of two cities with more than 32,000 people.
  15. Here is my predicted scenario for the playoffs, for now.
  16. I have a 3 year old that likes to play soccer. Maybe I could contact Qatar to see how much they'd be willing to pay for a verbal commitment to Qatar's 2022 national team.
  17. I am sure that building 15 new stadiums, renovating 3, and making most of them portable over the next 12 years will happen just as designed in that youtube video without any issues, also.
  18. Qatar was the world possible choice technically of any of the bids for either year. Sure, a middle-eastern World Cup might be neat, but there are about 10 middle-eastern countries that would've been a better choice than Qatar, even considering the current political climates out there. If Australia had won, it would have been fine.
  19. Qatar's national team has never qualified for the World Cup. They did make the second round of qualifying a couple times, though. They haven't posted a win in the Asian Cup since 1986, and have only advanced out of that group stage once. This is the equivalent of Haiti hosting the World Cup, if Haiti was full of oil.
  20. Really hope the Qatar situation crashes and burns in the next 12 years.
  21. @GrantWahl Choosing Qatar and Russia is the biggest indictment possible that FIFA is not a clean organization. Petrodollars talk.
  22. I thought China was expected to be next in line? 2026. Due to rules, if Qatar gets 2022, China can't get 2026.
  23. I still find it hard to believe FIFA would screw over both the US and China here, just to have a World Cup in a middle-eastern country with no facilities and one of the worst teams in Asia.
  24. So, in the first game the Bears were lucky to get to defend Shaun Hill, and in the second game the Bears are lucky to not get to defend Shaun Hill?
  25. Still disappointed that Chicago isn't even on the bid as a host city.
