  1. The Bulls so far have the second most efficient offense of any playoff team, with a 122.6 offensive rating (New Orleans finished with a 122.7 offensive rating). We'll just not mention the defense for now.
  2. I watched the game twice, and here's what I noticed, at face value*: 1st half: Open shots galore, terrible Bulls defense. Rose was bad at preventing Collison drives, second level of D not rotating fast enough. 3rd quarter: Much better Bulls defense, Granger and company hitting some silly shots to maintain the margin. 4th quarter: Indy still hitting silly shots until the last 3 minutes, where the Bulls didn't allow a single uncontested shot. *Boozer, however, failed to play D the whole game.
  3. Ok, who had the Hawks and Hornets as the biggest blowout victors for the opening games?
  4. I feel a lot better about the Bulls struggling after seeing the Heat, Spurs and Lakers all struggle too. You forgot the Magic as well. I'm sure the Celtics are salivating at the opportunity to out-struggle everyone else. On the contrary, I have a feeling the Knicks are about to find out how non-contending they really are this week.
  5. Also, Vogel picked up his first tech of the year today. This was Deng's second tech of the year, the first also being against the Pacers.
  6. Crazy stat of the game: The Bulls had 21 offensive rebounds, for a 50% OReb percentage.
  7. Apparently Miami also forgot about the early start time today.
  8. The Pacers were hitting some really silly shots in the second half, but Boozer was awful for much of the game.
  9. Somehow the Pacers didn't score 100. That's amazing.
  10. Considering the Bulls have played almost no defense and only trail by four, it's pretty encouraging.
  11. Here's a video of the debacle:
  12. Same here. What made Luol step of his game? Thibs? He wasn't as good this year as he was last year. He is now more of a 4th option than a second option. He was actually a more effective shooter due to the increase in 3-point shots as opposed to long 2's. His rebounding suffered a bit this year individually, but so did Rose and Noah's. Assists down too, but again the Bulls have used him more as a spot-up shooting option this year instead of an offensive creator (which is a good thing).
  13. Mets came up one run short of sending game 1 to extras, falling 6-5 after scoring 1 in the 8th and 2 in the 9th.
  14. It doesn't matter how they strike you. It matters how they strike the Bulls, and whether they think it's a motivational tool. If the Bulls need a motivational tool to win the series, I'd be seriously concerned about them going forward. If this series goes beyond 4, somebody got badly injured, or the Bulls lost focus defensively.
  15. Do you actually think Dallas could beat LA, let alone in 6 games? Err, since when is 6 games too few? If Dallas is going to beat LA, they're doing it game 6 at home, not game 7 in LA. And yes, the way LA has played the past 3 weeks, Dallas can certainly beat LA.
  16. Looks like that DeJuan Blair guy turned out to be a pretty good rebounder and an efficient low-post finisher.
  17. Who is starting tomorrow, Dempster or Coleman?

  19. If I'm going homer, I'm going full-homer. Chicago over Indiana in 4 Miami over Philadelphia in 5 Boston over New York in 5 Atlanta over Orlando in 6 San Antonio over Memphis in 5 Oklahoma City over Denver in 5 Dallas over Portland in 5 LA Lakers over New Orleans in 4 Chicago over Atlanta in 4 Boston over Miami in 6 Oklahoma City over San Antonio in 6 Dallas over LA Lakers in 6 Chicago over Boston in 4 Dallas over Oklahoma City in 7 Chicago over Dallas in 4 Bools wee-un.
  20. This is only the fourth time in Bulls history that they finish #1 overall. In 1991, Portland went 63-19 while the Bulls went 61-21. In 1992, the Bulls had the best record at 67-15 (second was Portland at 57-25) In 1993, Phoenix was 62-20, New York was 60-22, and the Bulls were 57-25. In 1996, the Bulls were 72-10 (second was Seattle at 64-18) In 1997, the Bulls were 69-13 (second was Utah at 64-18) In 1998, the Bulls tied Utah at 62-20, but Utah won the tiebreaker.
  21. When the Lakers-Kings game started to get interesting, the Grizzlies started trying to make it a game. If the Lakers lose, Dallas is the 2 seed, and the 7 seed becomes desirable. Memphis was stalling as much as possible to wait for the outcome of the LAL-SAC game. Once the Lakers took over in OT, they went back to tanking. There's no way the Grizzlies were scoreboard watching like that. They were totally scoreboard watching. When the lead was around 30, the Lakers-Kings game was at 8 at half time. Memphis then closed to a reasonable gap, then saw the Lakers pull away again, and fell to 15 down again. When the Kings made their crazy run to take the lead late, Mamphis made a crazy run to get within 3 with 5 to play. When the Lakers tied it and sent it to OT, the Grizzlies stalled like crazy, taking timeouts at weird times, trying to make sure the outcome of the Lakers-Kings game was set before they had their final plan.
  22. It was pretty funny how Memphis was frantically trying to make it a game with the Clips once there was actually a chance the Lakers could lose. Then when it went to OT, they stalled like crazy with timeouts. Once LA took over again in OT, the tanking resumed.
  23. When the Lakers-Kings game started to get interesting, the Grizzlies started trying to make it a game. If the Lakers lose, Dallas is the 2 seed, and the 7 seed becomes desirable. 24. Spurs lose by 3, and the Bulls end up with the best record in the NBA alone.
