Also, things I learned today: Neil Paine evaluates every linear weighted rate statistic in existence (in public domain). This includes VORP, Statistical Plus/Minus, Game Score, Win Score, PER, TENDEX, NBA Efficiency, Points Created, Alternate Win Score... ...and...apparently Tom Thibodeau created his own version of PER that's amazingly good at predicting team performance with a lack of continuity (i.e. a team with a bunch of new players in a year), and a better predictor of future performance than over half the existing linear weighted rate statistics (6th overall performance, 2nd overall for teams with low continuity).
