  1. Forty free throws. FORTY.
  2. Archer came in at around 63, I believe. Okay, okay, but other than Lee and Archer, what have the Romans done for us?
  3. True, that's the one former Cub prospect in the top 100. I was mostly going for top 5 overall and the Cubs.
  4. The game will be won or lost on which of Zeller/Leonard can rebound more Brandon Paul misses.
  5. The only one that's really clear is the White Sox at 30th.
  6. Also, Law's Cubs top 10: 1. Anthony Rizzo, 1B (36) 2. Brett Jackson, OF (89) 3. Javier Baez, SS (95) 4. Trey McNutt, RHP 5. Zach Cates, RHP 6. Welington Castillo, C 7. Dillon Maples, RHP 8. Josh Vitters, 3B 9. Reggie Golden, OF 10. Matt Szczur, CF
  7. ESPN's top 100 by Keith Law (Insider) Notables: 1. Mike Trout, LAA 2. Bryce Harper, WAS 3. Matt Moore, TB 4. Manny Machado, BAL 5. Shelby Miller, STL 36. Anthony Rizzo, CHC 89. Brett Jackson, CHC 95. Javier Baez, CHC EDIT: He didn't rank Darvish or the Cubans.
  8. Grant Wahl just tweeted that the USMNT has scheduled a friendly against Brazil on May 30 in Landover, MD. He also mentioned that the new CONCACAF president wants to change/eliminate the Gold Cup, and combine efforts with the CONMEBOL Copa America in an effort to provide more consistent challenges for the better CONCACAF teams (basically USA and Mexico).
  9. "Look, guys, the NBA is totally viable here in New Orleans! See? Will Ferrell!" - David Stern
  10. Hawaii is as far west as you can get, and it's very mountainous. Not your best work. I'd have mentioned San Diego State, but they're leaving. Hawaii is the biggest outlier in the MWC going forward, being nowhere near the Mountain time zone. Alternately, Fresno, CA isn't so much mountainous either.
  11. Keith Law ranking the MLB farm systems. (Insider) Spoiler: Not a fan of the Cubs system, but hates the White Sox system.
  12. They're going to show him the center field home run celebration diorama, aren't they.
  13. At this point, the only real accurate conference name is Conference USA, mostly by default. Big Ten - 12 teams Big 12 - 10 teams Big East - Now accepting SMU and Houston Atlantic Coast - Now includes Pittsburgh Pacific 12 - Now with Utah and Colorado Southeastern Conference - I suppose Missouri is southeast of a few states. Atlantic 10 - 14 teams Mountain West - I suppose technically Hawaii is in the west, and it has a volcano... Western Athletic Conference - Louisiana Tech in in the western half of Louisiana, I suppose Heck, even the Sun Belt conference includes Western Kentucky.
  14. The Big East. Emphasis on the big.
  15. you don't sound like you understand what you're talking about You say that like it'll stop him from mocking things he doesn't understand.
  16. Fine, next time I'll just lay it on a little thicker.
  17. Because in the current system you don't get a chance to slip up. Even one loss in the middle of the year can blow your chance at winning your conference division, at which point you can just write off your chance at playing for the championship.
  18. Thus marks the best football idea the Big Ten has had since it decided to pursue expansion.
  19. This one was on the defensive gameplan. Just terrible.
  20. Maniscalco comes in, bricks a three, commits a dumb foul on the other end, after Illinois finally got the lead.
  21. Someone needs to let Brandon Paul know that one outlier does not make him a good jump shooter.
  22. I'm more worried about Garza following the Zambrano career path of being well above average until age 30, and then hitting a wall. And then soon after being bad at pitching.
  23. Considering Garza is 29 and still pitching, I'm not too worried about the career injury path.
  24. How does international FA work? Is he under team control for 6 years, or is it solely dependent on the length of the contract?
  25. That's a dumb plan, because the Cubs are one of the teams interested in the other guys. Plus, you said the stupid analogy backwards.
