  1. Looking a bit better against JV State than they did against SWAC State.
  2. You can throw those numbers in the trash, then Or you could take them for what they are, measures of efficiency without bias. Extremely flawed measures in a sport that can't be measured quite so easily as something like baseball when it comes to individual performance. I trust team measurements better than individual measurements. The numbers I'm referring to are referencing the defense in general, sections of the defense at the most specific.
  3. You can throw those numbers in the trash, then Or you could take them for what they are, measures of efficiency without bias. The D line is good at run stuffing, but once RBs reach the second level the secondary is terrible at cleaning up afterward. Either opposing RBs get 0 yards or 5+. As pass defense goes, the line has been unable to get pressure, so the better receivers (#1 WR and TE) generally have enough time to get free and get good yards. Safeties are actually generally not terrible against the pass.
  4. Yes, you will be able to find someone wrong about pretty much every situation, since there isn't 100% consensus on anything. Good for you?
  5. Probably couldn't afford him Ronnie Woo Woo to the rescue. Too soon. It's only been 3 years since Santo passed...
  6. Arsenal win at Dortmund, and there's still a good chance that 13 of the 16 UCL knockout round teams are from England, Germany, Spain and Italy (and then only that much because Group C has no countries from any of those associations in it).
  7. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2013/week-9-dvoa-ratings *spit take* FO's Playoff projections at the halfway point: AFC Projected Wins --------------------------- 1. Denver 12.9 2. 8. Picture 2000 Wilson's all screaming in unison, and then suddenly silenced. That was Chicago sports radio today before I turned it off.
  9. Looking at efficiency numbers, the Bears' D is actually holding its own excepting the safeties and pressuring the passer, which allows opposing #1 WRs and TEs a field day in the secondary. If they can fix just one of those somehow, they're in really good shape the rest of the way.
  10. @FO_ASchatz 49m DVOA Top 12 preview: DEN SEA CAR CHI IND SF NO CIN KC GB NE DAL. More later at http://footballoutsiders.com
  11. Seattle has looked sketchy recently, but Atlanta has looked worse than sketchy. Only other pick I'd suggest is Arizona.
  12. What in the hell is wrong with you...
  13. Current Cubs' 40 (37)-man roster: Pitchers Jake Arrieta Daniel Bard Dallas Beeler Alberto Cabrera Kyuji Fujikawa Justin Grimm Edwin Jackson Chang-Yong Lim Blake Parker Brooks Raley Neil Ramirez Hector Rondon Zac Rosscup Chris Rusin James Russell Jeff Samardzija Pedro Strop Carlos Villanueva Arodys Vizcaino Travis Wood Catchers Welington Castillo Infielders Arismendy Alcantara Darwin Barney Starlin Castro Mat Gamel Donnie Murphy Mike Olt Anthony Rizzo Luis Valbuena Christian Villanueva Josh Vitters Logan Watkins Outfielders Brian Bogusevic Brett Jackson Junior Lake Nate Schierholtz Jorge Soler Ryan Sweeney Matt Szczur
  14. Moves only, no speculation, no analysis, no comments, just moves. Only post moves that affect the Cubs' 40-man roster. If you post a move, cite a reputable source, and relay where the Cubs' 40-man roster is. From this morning: Bruce Miles ‏@BruceMiles2112 3h #Cubs activate Fujikawa, Vizcaino and Gamel from 60-day DL. 40-man roster is at 37
  15. With Basketball Prospectus pretty much dissolving this past offseason (thanks to ESPN hiring pretty much everyone on the staff), John Gasaway started his own hoops blog here.
  16. Grant Wahl ‏@GrantWahl 1m If Mexico isn't taking New Zealand seriously, El Tri should ask Italy, Paraguay & Slovakia, none of which could beat NZ at World Cup 2010. My first thought...holy crap, there was an Italy-Paraguay-Slovakia-New Zealand group last WC?!
  17. Says the person who already declared the season and game over prematurely.
  18. That is his bread and butter.
  19. Got to give this team especially the chance for the OReb.

  21. On the flip side, though, it'll be nice having league MVP Carlos Boozer in the fold all season if last night's game is any indication.
  22. They're not done, they're just not going to win a title this year. And that is exactly the jumping to conclusions I'm talking about. How is it jumping to conclusions when we have 3 years of watching the Heat and Bulls to back it up? That's a long, slow crawl to a conclusion. The lineup has played one meaningful game together. It's ridiculous to write them off completely based on that. I do agree with you, though, that the Bulls without Rose, Deng and Noah are not going to win a title, as last year showed.
  23. More disappointed in Goldschmidt winning it over Rizzo tbh Goldschmidt actually deserved it, so I can't be too disappointed about that.
  24. Klopas, the coaching staff and the entire Fire front office are...well, fired.
