    disagree, again my decision is based on the decisions the bears have made this year and their inability to score from 1 yard out for the last decade or so, but several times this year. I understand the numbers favor going for it, and normally I am pretty aggressive about going for it there. And you still never take the FG there. Disagree all you like, but the FG is the wrong call. It's a coach's "get out of jail free" call, but it's the wrong call in 99.99% of situations.

    Of all the things to bitch about w/ Trestman this game, that 4th down is way, way low on the list. The playcalling at the goal line is a bigger issue than going for it on 4th down when your defense blows.. right, the fact that Trestman has repeatedly made poor play calls in those situations makes the decision for me. You kick the FG and take the points again ive agreed with every other 4th down decision the Bears made this year until that one No, you don't take the FG there. You never take the FG there.

    Just to clarify, trestman is a great oc and horrible hc decision maker . And the pathetic people who think the cubs had to take a dive are the only ones who disagree. Speaking of sticking fingers in ears and ignoring logic and reason...

    And just for posterity, the only time going for it on 4th and 1 from the 1 is the wrong call is if a FG wins the game.

    I don't know what to be about the first B1G win in 2 years being a 4 point squeaker at a historically bad Purdue team that still included 4 turnovers and the defense allowing PU's longest play from scrimmage this season.

    Atlanta just went from a slightly above average team with insane schedule and close-game luck to a slightly below average team with bad schedule and close-game luck.

    If the Nets or Knicks don't rebound, I would say this regular season is pretty meaningful. Getting that #1 seed is important so you only have to face one of the Big 3 in the playoffs rather than two. Sure, but they just won 5 in a row. They lost last night largely because Deng was wretched; it happens. Plus they are short a starting 2 guard, so it's laughable to take a close loss in a tough location without the full team and project it to playoff susceptibility. But then again he didn't post at all during the Bulls recent win streak, so maybe there is a good reason to root for the Bulls to win during the regular season.

    As is, all I want for the USMNT: - No CONMEBOL team in the group stage - No Netherlands/Italy in the group stage - No Spain/Germany in the group stage if possible Which leave a group with Belgium/Switzerland, a CAF team, and a decent Euro team.

    The USMNT is basically automatically in the group of death unless the rest of their group is terrible, because the rest of their selection pool is the entire bottom of the ratings.

    Just wait until Illinois football regains their championship form... ...although I'd be content with simply winning one league game right now.

    Northwestern won at UIC by 40 last night. Illinois gets a revenge match against UIC at the UC in a couple weeks...odds on it being a game at the end...still high.
