  1. Also cute, the O's fans at the hangout actually think the Cubs are somehow rubbing it in by pitching Arrieta and Strop today, as opposed to the possibility that Arrieta's turn was up in the rotation, and Strop is the normal setup man.
  2. Strop in, just to remind the O's exactly how much they gave up for a handful of Feldman starts.
  3. I'd say he's throwing batting practice, but I'm not sure players hit this well during batting practice.
  4. Valaika in at second, hitting 7th. Everyone else bumped up a spot in the lineup.
  5. @BruceMiles2112 1m Starlin Castro out because of family emergency. Baez to play short.
  6. Wada with the rare combination of a complete game, shutout, and yet not a quality start.
  7. Considering the OF the Cubs have this year and they probably won't have 95 losses with it, I'm guessing two straw men and a scarecrow.
  8. That is every pitcher's floor, and why I wouldn't trade a cost-controlled, 24 year old all star SS for any of them.
  9. That's not true, they play the Mets tomorrow. *After this series. Forgot we have the weird 4 game series that goes Fri-Mon Also a decent chance Cincy is below .500 at the end of the day today.
  10. That's not true, they play the Mets tomorrow.
  11. Worst first pitch in history? http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--qRO2LnM0--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/llg04q2thppeytykkwjd.gif
  12. Just because someone agrees with you doesn't make it a good idea.
  13. This year, the highest team OBP is .332 (Pittxburgh). In 2008, this was the Cubs' every day lineup, with OBPs: 1. Soriano .344 2. Theriot .387 3. Lee .361 4. Ramirez .380 5. Edmonds .369 6. DeRosa .376 7. Fukudome .359 8. Soto .364
  14. Why does it matter whether Jackson pitches at all, if there are better options available?
  15. Why would you want him to get cancer? That's just mean.
  16. Jimi.
  17. Aside from his first professional inning, Hendricks has pitched 40 2/3 innings and given up 30 hits, 6 walks, and 5 ER while striking out 26 over 6 games. Good for a 1.11 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 4.33 K/BB.
  18. This topic was first. It wins.
  19. It'd be at least a tiny bit funny if the AL wild card game is Tigers vs A's.
  20. Not a very good K/BB ratio for the hitters this weekend, though.
  21. Cubs activate Neil Ramirez, add Jacob Turner to the roster, option Rusin. Still someone else that needs to go down.
  22. The short list of teams Hamels cannot be traded to in 2014 anymore: - Everyone but the Cubs.
  23. @sunilgulati 8h All good with Pep Guardiola and Caleb Porter. With them for nice handshake outside the locker room after the game. #MLSAllStar http://www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com/images/07-minister.jpg
