  1. It's still just 81 pitches, not like he'll go 6 tonight.
  2. The Cub lineup is as such that Garrett Richards is pitching well and looks to have nasty stuff with 5 strikeouts...and the Cubs have 7 baserunners through 3 1/3 innings and two runs.
  3. Rendon just got picked off again with Harper up lmao Rendon unclogs the bases, Harper HRs. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
  4. You don't remember them waiting until the exact week where they'd make up for his time up with SD and get the extra year of service time? He worked on some swing adjustments in AAA to close the hole in his swing that had him striking out so much with the Padres too. He was homering damn near every other game in Iowa. It was a brutal wait, even though, yes, LaHair was up earning an all star appearance. Mostly just mad at myself for having no recollection of the LaHair era. I forgot about the service time because Rizzo signed the extension soon after.
  5. Damn could have sworn Rizzo opened with the club in 2012. Was that the LaHair era?
  6. Explain that first sentence. There's plenty of players on the Cubs that have been in the major leagues longer than Rizzo. Longest Cub major league tenure. Szczur has been with the organization longer, but Rizzo has been on the major league team longer.
  7. Going into the season, the Cub on the active roster with the longest major league tenure is Anthony Rizzo. The Cub that has been in the organization the longest is Matt Szczur.
  8. Sometimes Derwood tries too hard. And then sometimes Derwood REALLY tries too hard.
  9. Lester just went oppo. Cubs lead 5-0 in the fourth.
  10. This announcer has no idea that the US plays Guatemala again on Tuesday.
  11. We were in the same spot last cycle also. Beat Antigua at home then tied Guatemala and lost to T&T, both on the road. Assuming they don't turn this around, they'll be 1-1-1 again. It was Jamaica last cycle but yeah.
  12. Bad defense and slow from Howard and it's quickly 2-0
  13. Well not an ideal start.
  14. It's a decent result, better than expected, though it was disappointing to see the US go full bunker-mode after that opening goal.
  15. In the"nobody cares but me" department, my eight year old's bracket will win our $500 pool if Wisconsin and Gonzaga win tonight.
  16. So you picked all chalk?
  17. Yep. Nope.
  18. Fun inning: http://m.mlb.com/video/v556846883/arichc-soler-homers-in-cubs-fiverun-1st-inning/?query=cubs
  19. Got 15 of the 16 games right yesterday, picking upsets based on the projected closest games between underseeded lower seeds and overseeded higher seeds. Only one I missed on was Purdue, who really should have won anyway.
  20. Things we already knew that got confirmed yesterday: Wichita State was way, way underseeded. The Pac-12 completely gamed the RPI to make their teams look good this year, but all the overseeding didn't help them anyway.
  21. I've got MSU winning it all, as they've been basically unbeatable with a full team when not against Iowa.
  22. Tulsa was the last team in. Gonzaga likely wouldn't have made it had they lost the WCC final.
  23. Upsets that I like: SF Austin over WVU Hawaii over Cal Wichita State/Vandy over Arizona Yale over Baylor VCU over Oregon State Kansas-Oklahoma-UNC-Michigan State final four.
