    #88: Lester Shuts Down Dodgers Why on the list? -Up to this point, Lester had struggled against the Dodgers in his career. But this game was only the start of Lester's dominance against the Dodgers this year, tossing a CG 4-hitter with 0 walks and 10 strikeouts. He even made a couple defensive plays on the mound.

    #89: Jason Heyward's Range is "Ball In Play" Why on the list? - If there was going to be one spot in any park that was out of Heyward's range, it would be the 421 foot right-center corner at AT&T Park. Well, Span hit it there, and Heyward got it anyway. If the ball is in play, it's in Heyward's range.

    #90: Coghlan has Just Enough Time to Hurt Cards Why on the list? - The Cubs couldn't buy offense this game off Carlos Martinez, but in the 6th they finally loaded the bases with singles from Bryant, Rizzo, and Heyward. Coghlan worked the count full, then Martinez took his time delivering home. Coghlan tried to call time, but the ump ignored him, so he stepped back and and ripped a 2-run single, just for spite, probably.

    #91: Mike Trout Can't Handle the Carl's Jr. Why on the list? - Edwards came into a 2-0 game in the 8th with nobody out and runners on 2nd and 3rd with Trout up. He struck out Trout, got Pujols on a run-scoring grounder, and got Simmons on a grounder. There were other impressive outings for Edwards this season, but this was the highest WPA of them all.

    #92: Baez Makes an Impossible Play a Half-Second Slow Why on the list? - Like Len said, that might be the greatest play in history if he gets it there about a half second earlier. Still, the play itself was unreal.

    #93: Marlins Beg Cubs to Take Free Runs, Cubs Oblige With Wild-Pitch-Off Why on the list? - Up to the 8th inning, this was a miserable game. The Cubs generated no offense aside from two Lackey doubles, and the Marlins assembled a 4-1 lead before turning it to their unhittable back end of Rodney and Ramos. Fortunately, the Cubs didn't need hits to score any of the 4 runs they scored to come back and win.

    #94: Lackey Dominates in First Start Against Cards Why on the list? - This actually ended up being Lackey's best start of the season, just 3 starts in. His first start was a bit dubious in Arizona, though, for reasons mostly unrelated to his pitching. Nice to see him dominate the Cards early on here, as the Cubs went on to lose every other Lackey start against St. Louis this season.

    Figures that the first time in 15 years the top two men's seeds bow out before the finals, and all it's going to accomplish is yet another Nadal-Federer final.

    it was all about Pujols or Fielder that offseason. I think we won Fun fact: Since that off-season, Rizzo has accrued 20.1 fWAR. Pujols and Fielder have combined for 16.6 fWAR.

    #95: You Cannot Run on David Ross Why on the list? - The Cubs had historically great defense last year, and it counted up and down the roster. The Milwaukee Brewers stole a lot of bases this year, but this was not their day.

    That's pretty arbitrary. I'd imagine at least one player who has been on the White Sox at some point has visited the White House in the past 8 years.

    #96: Hector at the Bat Why on the list? - Remember that Rondon was so automatic in the first half of the season prior to injury, the Cubs gave him a 4-out save opportunity in a one-run game even though he had to bat in the 8th. Of course, he retired all 4 batters his faced, because he had a negative FIP in May this year. Yes, he was so good, he broke FIP.

    #97: Grimm Wins Game With One Pitch, Cubs' Scrubs Good Enough to Beat Reds in Season Finale Why on the list? - Grimm picks up the most efficient win of the year, throwing a single pitch before the Cubs take the lead in the 9th. Szczur and Montero provide the heroics on what was the final game of the season. That was actually Szczur's final plate appearance of the year.

    Go back to jehr's original post from before this got out of hand (as political discussions usually do nowadays); his original statement didn't use the word "equally" - that inference was added later by people who disagreed with him. I read his original post as him simply being unhappy with both (main) candidates, which sounds fair. He said they were both bad candidates, and concluded there was no difference between them so just accept it. That is a faulty conclusion based on the false equivalency. Never mind that the topic was Obama and nobody brought up Clinton.

    The "equally bad" false equivalency is exactly the strategy Trump's camp used to win the election. So if you believe it, you are either ignorant and got duped into voting trump, or you're a hateful racist supporter that actually wants to see him succeed. There is no third option, and anyone that falls into acceptance of Trump is just part of the problem.

    #98: Javy Baez Tags Like None Other Why on the list? - Okay, it's not one moment, it's a season of moments. But it's difficult to justify two separate "Javy tag" moments on the list, and it's hard to pick just one (and these are just the regular season!) of these. I actually think my favorite is where he basically slaps Janikowski in the face, not sure why.

    Probably harder considering there's no pads to "protect" themselves in those sports. It also happens a lot less often and usually you don't see the same person getting concussed over and over. Basketball concussions can be bad too because their cushion when the fall is hardwood instead of grass. You are operating in the rarer occassions there, but theres going to be some risk in any contact sport. Sure, except football is a sport designed for collisions, whereas in other sports it's a rare accident. Basketball you get a rough collision once a game, maybe. Football you get a rough collision once a play, guaranteed.

    Soccer is a big concussion risk, which is why headers were made illegal for kids under 13. There's also a strict concussion protocol in place at my son's club and league, to the point where they stop the game whenever there's any head/neck contact/injury. The best part of it from my perspective is the social environment of soccer compared to football, where player safety is a huge deal and evident as priority #1, at least in my experience.

    When my son was born. I made a conscious decision to make sure that he doesn't play tackle football growing up, due to growing concerns about concussions and permanent brain damage. The mentality of the sport combined with the physicality of the sport makes it unavoidably dangerous to play, especially for a child. Other than a complete overhaul of the sport itself, can anything else be done to not destroy people's lives, aside from having the sport go the way of boxing?

    No the top 2 in each group go to the knockout round, 32 team knockout. I know UEFA is going to require 16 bids and put one team in each group. CONMEBOL should just send all 9 teams, but they'll probably get 7. CONCACAF is probably going to get 6, which is just silly.
