  1. There will be adjustments, probably injuries, opening week energy will die down. But they seem to be pretty good and Fred is using them well so I think it's more legit than not legit. Going into the season, this was a tough team to peg since it's so weirdly constructed. I expected them to be among the 4th tier of East teams with Orlando and Washington, battling for the 8 spot because the front office feels like the NBA playoffs participation is a valuable end goal. Now it's just been 3 games in favorable circumstances, but they already have wins against 2 teams in thought were better than them.
  2. Through 3 games, the Bulls lead the NBA in offensive efficiency, and the Warriors are 30th. Because of course.
  3. There is no way the Knicks make the playoffs. Even with how bad the East is, the Knicks are worse.
  4. Bulls may exceed expectations this year. Instead of finishing with the 8 seed and getting trounced by Cleveland in the first round, they may get the 5 seed and get trounced by Cleveland in the second round.
  5. No NFC west team has won a game for two weeks. The two weeks include a game between two NFC west teams.
  6. Well, I mean, at least we're not the Browns...
  7. Friday will actually be the 3rd consecutive games at Wrigley that Hendricks is starting, and 4th in the last 5 Wrigley games.
  8. The Cubs broke the Terry Francona mystique, as this was the first time a team he's managed has lost in the World Series.
  9. Quick note, for all Kluber has been cruising, he's thrown just 6 pitches fewer than a horridly squeezed Lester through 3.
  10. But you are sure as hell going to make sure everyone knows you have it, and do your best to make sure nobody can enjoy the moment. Yeah, my bad for trying to inject a marginal amount of rationality to the neverending stream of posts declaring that Babe Ruth IV is coming back and is going to just crush the ball right away. http://i.imgur.com/mZvWeXq.jpg
  11. Do you know who Kyle Schwarber is?! Yeah, he's a guy who was medically cleared to hit but not play the field and has had his knee reconstructed 6 months ago, and had a handful of ABs in AZ against high-ceiling, lower level pitching. Unless you completely believe he's a generationally great hitter, he's not going to step in after that long of a layoff and be crushing the ball against major league pitching of the Indians' caliber, and I don't particularly give a horsefeathers how unpopular that opinion is. But you are sure as hell going to make sure everyone knows you have it, and do your best to make sure nobody can enjoy the moment.
  12. Grant Brisbee is a national treasure: http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2016/10/25/13396782/kyle-schwarber-cubs-world-series-indians
  13. The nastiest pitches of the 2016 World Series For those who are freaking out about the Indians pitchers, don't forget the Cubs have a few decent ones also.
  14. Schwarber leaving the field and heading to Cleveland.
  15. I'm not sure if this was mentioned earlier but Schwarber is the only player in franchise history to debut against the Indians.
  16. From what I've read thus far, Indians fans underestimate the NL, the Cubs front office, the rotation (particularly Lester), the offense (they "struggle at the plate"), the bullpen ("nothing after Chapman and Chapman is hittable"), and the defense ("no better than us overall"). Just went from "happy to be in the series" to "Okay let's show then what the best team in baseball looks like."
  17. Another consideration could be which pitcher you'd prefer at Wrigley for game 5, including as a hitter.
  18. Maddon on the radio today said it'll for sure be Hendricks game 3 and Lackey game 4, but they're still evaluating Arrieta/Lester games 1 and 2.
  19. Grant Brisbee, on point: [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  20. History that I wasn't aware of... [tweet]https://twitter.com/DexterFowler/status/790112289999446016[/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  21. I don't know if I can enjoy this considering all those losses 3 years ago.
