  1. Not a bad pitch from Hendricks on the HR, outside corner at the knees.
  2. Maeda. If you mean game 2, Urias makes the most sense. Game 2 is likely Kershaw. Urias also pitched yesterday.
  3. There's no way you pitch to Murphy here, right?
  4. Quick reminder that the pitcher is due up 5th in the bottom of the 9th with no hitters available, a spot I'm sure won't matter in a do or die inning.
  5. At least the Dodgers have pitchers if the game ends up tied after 9...the Nationals are out of everything but starters. It probably won't matter though when Roark makes the last out of the game with a runner in scoring position.
  6. Dusty is now out of bench players and has Melancon hitting behind Murphy. That probably won't come into play.
  7. Let's be real, you'd waver on a series with the Reds.
  8. Consider for a moment that with all the problems the Giants pen had all year, with all the pitchers Bochy used the past 2 games, he never once used Casilla, the team's primary closer.
  9. Honestly, if the Cubs had to lose last night, the way things went were basically the best case scenario. They got to Bumgarner, got to Romo, and it took two lefties getting hits off Chapman back to back to beat them. Only pitcher unavailable is Montgomery, and Strop, Edwards and Rondon are fresh.
  10. My other favorite scenario is Javy admiring a hit long enough to set off Bumgarner and he gets himself tossed.
  11. The best scenario is Soler homers in the top of the first to give the Cubs a 2-4 run lead, and then is immediately replaced by Heyward for defensive purposes so Heyward plays all 9 defensive innings.
  12. I...This can't...no. Oh for christ's sake, what? I don't read every [expletive] post in every [expletive] thread on this board, so yes, DERWOOD MISSED SOMETHING. ELL OH ELL now who was he? I mean, it's been clear for a long while that you don't actually read the board, but you do post in every thread anyway, so Derwood gonna Derwood.
  13. Well, now the Rangers are 36-12 in one-run games.
  14. This was only the second time in franchise history the Cubs have won game 1 of a playoff series at home. This was the first time in franchise history they won game 1 of a playoff series at home when they had home field advantage.
  15. Today's baseball trivia: This year, a record number of players hit at least 20 HRs. Despite this, one team had zero players hit 20 HRs. What team?
  16. Giants have solid starting pitching and a suspect bullpen, so they're susceptible to patient offenses that grind out ABs. So...this isn't the Mets offense they're facing anymore.
  17. Zach Britton reportedly available ton pitch tonight, since he got last night off.
  18. Today's trivia: Madison Bumgarner has 7 post-season wins in his career. Only one currently active player in this year's playoffs has more. Who?
  19. Embrace the target.
  20. Lackey strikes out Bryant and Rizzo, but Soler hits an RBI single, scoring Zobrist
  21. Maybe you can just make a thread for today's simulated game. So far Arrieta walked La Stella, got Contreras to GIDP, and struck Baez out looking.
  22. That is a cover I'd like to own, if only Contreras was on it.
  23. Fun fact for today: Grimm threw one pitch and got the win.
  24. Iglesias had given up 7 runs since April before today.
