  1. Not only are the whitesox 6.5 out, but the Twins are now 3 behind the whitesox. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!! Let's go Twins as well!!! We should change the title to the "Offical Go White Sox enemies thread" While you're at it, why don't you change your name to TwinsIndiansTigers!?!?!!? Best post in this thread yet.
  2. I watched that Sunday afternoon-evening Cubs-Mets game, but that's been it.
  3. Not only are the whitesox 6.5 out, but the Twins are now 3 behind the whitesox. with a chance to overtake them in a series this week. the AL wildcard race will be very interesting. can't believe that one of Toronto, NY, Minny, Boston, Detroit, Sox hasn't made any moves yet. The Twins are going to be the sleeper in the Soriano sweepstakes and get him. Yeah even though the Twins have a pretty cheap owner, I don't see that happening. He's going to the Angels IMO.
  4. Iowa wins game 2 of the doubleheader, 31. Emanuel went 4 allowing 3 hits, 0 ER's, 2 BB's, 3 K's. Cherry got the win as he pitched a scoreless 5th only allowing 1 hit. Ligtenberg got the save as he pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB's, and struck out 3. Restovich and Hoffpauir were each 1/2 with a double and an RBI. Soto was 1/2 with a double as well. Montanez went 1/2 with an RBI and Felix went 1/3 with a run, a stolen base, and a K. Jaxx are still tied at 1 as the game is still delayed in the 8th. Boise up 3-0 in the 6th. Pawelek through 5: 1 hit, 0 ER's, 1 BB, 5 K's. Colvin hit a solo homer as well :D
  5. Taylor and Koerber had real good outings tonight for Peoria. Taylor went 7 allowing 7 hits, 3 runs, 0 BB's, and had 5 K's. Koerber pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 BB's, and had 1 K. Besides the 2 2-run homers for Chirinos and Yusuf, Reynolds went 3/5 with 2 2B's and an RBI. Every Chief besides Garcia had at least one hit tonight. Iowa up 3-0 in the bottom of the 6th. West Tenn tied at 1 in the 8th. They are currently in a rain delay. Jackson hit his 4th HR of the season. Daytona's game was suspended due to rain. The D-Cubs were down 4-2 before the game was suspended.
  6. Iowa wins game 1, 3-1! Ryu got the win as he pitched 5 innings of 2 hit ball, allowing 1 run, walking 2, and striking out 7. Clay Rapada pitched a third of an inning allowing 1 hit. Wuertz closed it out pitching an inning and 2/3's allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB's, and striking out 3. Fontenot delivered the big blow with a 3-run homer in the 5th. He also singled as well. Jose Reyes went 2/3. Hoffpauir went 1/3 with a double. Felix went 1/1 with 2 BB's and a run scored. Definitely a good game for Felix this afternoon. Peoria now tied at 2 in the 4th. Daytona now only trails 3-2 after 2 after Matt Craig's 11th HR of the season, which was followed by a double by Ryan Harvey and then an RBI by Fuld.
  7. Rapada and Wuertz combined to pitch a scoreless 6th. Still 3-1 Iowa. Robinson Chirinos homered in the 1st for Peoria...Chiefs lead 2-1 in the 3rd. Norton gave up a 3-run homer in the 1st to Clearwater...Daytona down 3-0 in the 2nd.
  8. 3-run homer for Fontenot gives Iowa a 3-1 lead! Iowa did have runners at 1st and 3rd with no outs earlier in the inning, but Montanez grounded into a weird FC DP as the runner at 3rd (Micah) was thrown out at home and then Jose Reyes, who was at 1st, was thrown out trying to go to 3rd. Thankfully, Pie came though with a walk and Fontenot delievered with a homer.
  9. #18 on the season for ARam...looks like he's been heating up lately.
  10. The Iowa game I have on Gameday has them down 1-0 with Ryu absolutely dominating for the last 2 innings. Yes, big typo from me. Getting my wisdom teeth out earlier today has meesed with my mind. Of course, I don't always have to use that excuse either
  11. Daytona lost game 1, 4-2. Holliman took the loss as he went 5 allowing 3 hits, 4 ER's, 5 BB's, 2 K's, and 1 HR. Layden pitched a perfect 6th. Sprowl was 1/3 with a RBI double and Ciaramella was 1/3 with an RBI single. Spearman was 1/3, Mota was 1/2, and Craig was 1/2 with a BB and 2 runs. Iowa down 1-0 in the 4th.
  12. Daytona ties the game at 2 in the 4th. Sprowl had an RBI double to tie the game at 1 in the 2nd, before Clearwater scored in the bottom half of the 2nd. Ciaramella had an RBI sngle in the 4th, which tied the game at 2. Holliman through 3: 2 hits, 2 ER's, 4 BB's, 2 K's, 1 HR allowed. Ryu gave up a run in the 1st to put Memphis up 1-0. He gave up a hit, a BB, and struck out 1. Felix led off the bottom half of the 1st with a leadoff single, but Iowa now has 2 outs for Restovich with Felix still at 1st.
  13. Holliman gives up a solo shot in the 1st. After 1, Daytona trails 1-0.
  14. Why the heck wouldn't the Sox retaliate? I really don't blame them if they would. It seems Padilla is Showalter's hired gun to carry out his problems with Ozzie, but I don't see anyone getting on Showalter's case. Hitting Pierzynski intentionally in 2 straight AB's, for absolutely no reason besides a stupid managerial grudge, is bush league IMO. I really don't blame the Sox if they retaliate, that is IF, Padilla hits another batter.
  15. Iowa lost 6-2. O'Malley didn't make it out of the 5th as he allowed 10 hits, 6 runs, 3 ER's, 0 BB's, and struck out 3 in 4 and 2/3's. Clay Rapada pitched an inning and a third allowing only 1 hit, 1 walk, no runs, and struck out. Walrond pitched 2 innings of relief allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB's, and struck out 2. Aardsma pitched the 9th, allowing 2 BB's, 0 hits, and 0 runs. Fontenot was 2/4 with an RBI. Pie and McGehee each went 1/4 with a double. Pie also had an RBI and 2 K's. Coats, Hoffpauir, and Reyes all went 1/4 and Deardorff went 1/3 with a BB.
  16. You don't want to let Murton get hot here. He's 17-47 with 12 runs and 10 rbi. That would defeat the purpose of the platoon. And besides, Dusty's more powerful than you think. Did you see that HR Nevin hit last night ? Clutch. That's what's been missing this year in LF. Clutchness. The Cubs need that. I mean, we've got enough young guys in there already. True..but at least it is Pagan. We'll see more of what he can do. I mean, it could be Nevin! I'd love to see Murton there-I'm just glad this lineup is full of people who could possibly contribute in 2007. I am really not understanding this love-fest with Pagan lately. If people really believe Pagan is going to contribute to the team in 2007, the 07 team will be the worst team in the National League.
  17. Mesa wins after being no-hit! Kopach struck out 2 and walked 1 in the 9th...Taylor, Hernandez, Platt, and Kopach combined for a 4-hit shutout. Only 3 BB's between the four of them as well compared to 5 K's.
  18. Kopach into pitch the 9th, and he retires the first batter on a K.
  19. The column is about how Steve Dahl's son was a co-founder of an anti-Mariotti website. My understanding is that Jay is on an "eight week time out". I dont' think this would have happened had he not lashed out at his employer on TV. Who knows...he may never be back. Let's certainly hope so.
  20. Jaxx win 5-1. Iowa loses 5-4.
  21. At least 4 of Burke's 7 homers have had to come against Cubs pitching. It's ridiculous what this guy does to us.
  22. Iowa ties it at 4 on an RBI single by Hoffpauir, scoring Buck Coats.
  23. St. Louis' pitching seems to go in some pretty awful spurts. The Padres didn't hold the Braves down in the first three games of the stretch either. Yeah that's true, but I also remember the same Cardinals staff giving up something like 20 and 14 runs in back-to-back games against the Sox a few weeks ago.
  24. Let's hope it's nothing serious on Guzman. The last thing he needs is another arm injury...
