That had to be the 1st or 2nd time all season the Cubs went back to back.

If the Sox main piece towards getting Soriano is only having to give up Podsednik and not giving up McCarthy, I think that they would be ripping the Nationals off... big time.

:shock: I guess Jacque Jones and ARAM were traded to the Yankees for AROD. :lol: Is it me or has Miguel Negron played better since coming to the Cubs? I know, I know he may not be as special as when he was drafted, but he is still 23 yrs, and could definately turned into a Juan Rivera type player in the pros. Or is this wishful thinking? He has definitely played better since coming to the Cubs system. He was flat out awful with the Jays Double A team. I don't know how high his ceiling is exactly, but it is nice to see him having a good year, considering how down I was on the signing when I first heard about and when I looked at his numbers the first time.

I heard the Marlins were against trading anyone because they believe they actually have a shot at the Wild Card. The drones on BBTN said that they aren't even considering trading JoBo anymore.

Once again...... Padilla hit 3 White Sox batters. At both times he had good control. How do you know it wasn't intentional? How can you even say that in all certainty? Plus all 3 pitches were fastballs. It surely wasn't just a coincidence.

Boise lost 10-1. Pina was roughed up in 4 innings, allowing 7 hits, 8 runs, 4 BB's, and struck out 4. Clipp pitched the 5th allowing 1 hit, 2 runs, and 1 BB. Blevins pitched 2 innings allowing just 1 hit, and struck out one. Maestri pitched the final 2 innings, allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 BB, and struck out one. Boise managed just four hits tonight: A triple by Alfred Joseph, and singles by Camp, Colvin, and Mercedes. Deryck Lewis had the lone RBI on the night for Boise, on an RBI groundout.

Sox offense looked lethargic tonight against Radke and co. With the Sox now 7.5 out of the division and only 1.5 up in the wild card, I wouldn't be surprised to see Williams make a desparation move, even if it included giving up McCarthy. Bottom line: I see this deal happening either early tomorrow or Wednesday.

Jaxx lose 6-2. After Gallagher, Vasquez pitched the final two and a third, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 BB, and struck out 2. Walker was 2/4 with a triple and a run scored. EPatt was 1/4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Negron was 1/2 before being mysteriously taken out for Sing. Lewis drew 2 walks and stole a base. Only 4 hits for the Jaxx tonight. Boise now down 8-0 in the 5th.

Daytona won 12-9. Dunedin committed 6 errors leading to 7 Daytona unearned runs. Bronder pitched 4 innings allowing 4 hits, 5 runs, 2 BB's, and struck out 3. Hunton got the win pitching 2 innings, allowing 1 hit, 2 runs, 3 BB's, and struck out 2. Mendez pitched an inning and 2/3's allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 ER, and walked one. Schappert earned his 9th save of the season pitching an inning and a third, only allowing 1 walk and struck out 2. Ciaramella was 2/4 with 4 RBI's. Ryan Harvey was 2/5 with a double, 2 RBI's, and a run scored. Nathan Price and Jonathan Mota were 2/4 with Mota driving in one. Fuld and Simokaitis were each 2/5, and both drove in one. Jake Muyco was 1/4 with 1 run scored. Jaxx down 6-2 in the 9th. Boise down 7-0 in the 4th. Pina gave up 7 in the 2nd.

Peoria loses 5-3. Blackford took the loss, going 6 innings giving up 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 ER's, 4 BB's, and struck out 8. Evenson pitched 2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB's, and struck out 1. Davy Gregg was 3/4 with 2 runs scored and had a stolen base. Chirinos was 2/4 with a solo homer. Valdez was 2/4 with an RBI. The top third of the order combined to go 7/12. Kyle Reynolds was 1/4 with a double and Malone was 1/4 with a single.

I've always been on the Soriano bandwagon. I really wish the Cubs could sign him in Free Agency, but I don't think it's that likely anymore. I'm pretty sure Williams is going to do everything he can to keep Soriano on the south-side for years to come.

Just shut him down for the rest of the year. Heck, shut down the whole team for the rest of the year. Not like anyone is going to notice a difference.

Well don't forget Kenny actually has talent to trade. We don't. And who's fault is that?

Face it, McCarthy is going to be a starter, not a reliever. Plus he has been extremely inconsistant as a reliever this year. Would you really want basically a rookie pitching out of your pen as one of your more important setup guys down the stretch, or would you take an established pitcher like MacDougal? Not that tough of a decision to make. The Sox have a surplus of starting pitching, both in the bigs and in the minors. It seems as if Williams has decided he's keeping Garcia and Vazquez long term though if he does trade McCarthy. He's taking a big gamble, but I'm pretty sure he's going to try to do everything to re-sign Soriano in the offseason. Last year, he spoke out against getting AJ Burnett because he didn't want a guy for 2 months. Obviously Burnett commanded a high contract. Soriano will too, but I believe the Sox have the funding now where they can afford to pay Soriano after this season as well.

Wow that's a huge deal if it goes down. What an offense that will be.

Hernandez got the win, improving his mark to 3-0, as he pitched 5 innings of 1 hit ball, allowing 3 unearned runs, 3 BB's, and striking out 2. Bernard pitched 2 perfect innings and struck out one. Platt earned his first save of the season as he pitched 2 innings, only allowing 2 walks and struck out one. Jeremy Williams was 2/3 with a double, a HR, 2 RBI's, and 2 runs scored. Cory Vanderhook was 2/4 with an RBI and a run scored. Francisco Tirado was 3/4 with an RBI. Valerio Heredia went 1/3 with a triple, a walk, and a run scored. Lisandro Rosario was 1/4 with a run scored, and Luther Murphy had 2 walks and stole a base.

We all know he's one of the best AAA pitchers out there right now, but that doesn't help the Cubs unless he produces. I'm not sold on his stuff at the ML level...I really, really, hope I'm wrong. I don't really know how you can judge his major league stuff when he's hardly been up to show what he has.

Who cares about last year!!?? Last year is over. I deal with moronic White Sox fans every day. I despise them, and I wish their team ill. The anti-Cubs agenda is not only limited to the fans. It goes all the way to marketing (us vs. them ads), management (KW saying he doesn't want to be 2nd-fiddle to the Cubs), coaches (Ozzie saying "f the cubs"), and players (AJ saying he was rooting for the Tigers over the Cubs). I have friends who are White Sox fans. I cannot hold a baseball discussion w/ them w/o them saying "Cubs suck" Why should I root for the White Sox?? Their fans have never rooted for the Cubs. They don't want Cubs fans rooting for them. Fine. They are the ones who picked the fight. I used to never care about them. I started caring and hating them after I moved to New Trier and dealt w/ their fans online and in-person. W/ the Cubs out of it, I might as well root for the White Sox and Cardinals to lose. "I sure as heck ain't rooting for the White Sox or Cardinals." - It's the only intelligent thing our manager has ever done or said. I don't think anyone expects you too "root" for the Sox. From what I read, I think they are commenting on your overall obsession with the White Sox. Honestly, how many Sox fans do you really encounter in the northern suburbs? Online? What sites are you visiting where you deal with this? WSI? Cubs.com? What else would you expect? New Trier is more White Sox fans than Cubs fans. When I pass by White Sox fans, they start going, "WHITE SOOOOOX!!" They do it to others too. They are rude, dumb, and obnoxious people. I hate their fans so much, I want to punch them in the face. So because they say their team's name, you want to punch them in the face?
