  1. All ten draft picks are signed and ready to go. Poppinga and Tauscher were cut yesterday, while Brandon Jackson was signed by Cleveland. Corey Hall was signed by the Saints.
  2. It'll be even harder to believe if we're still not in contention for the division in 2012.
  3. I think that would suck.
  4. That's living in fantasy land. Probably a 6th or a 7th.
  5. It's 2011 and somehow the sport doesn't have replay. lol.
  6. By all the reports I've read, yes. Barnett will either be traded or released. GB has a lot of money tied up at inside linebacker between Bishop and Hawk, and Barnett was merely the odd man out. Unless he's willing to take a major paycut, and possible backup role, I do not see him being back. I meant his career, he only played 4 games last season before a wrist injury. Definitely not. I think he'll go back to a 4-3 scheme, which fits him much better than the 3-4 did. The wrist injury isn't one that should hurt his career long-term. He still has several good years of football left in him. He was one of my favorite defensive Packers throughout my teenage years, so it does kind of suck to lose him even though everyone saw it coming. As long as he goes to a team outside of the division, I'll definitely root for him. The same applies to Cullen Jenkins too. Mason Crosby was re-signed for five years. He had a disasterous 2009 season, but rebounded well last year. One less thing to worry about.
  7. Who has gloated about it? I think everyone (sans erik) has handled it pretty level-headed on here. And does erik really count?
  8. Good. Now it's time to defend that title. Yep, the Packers suck. Or something along those lines.
  9. Just like the ECF. /beat SSR to the punch
  10. So much for winning the fecal league. I guess number two isn't so bad.
  11. I guess I have higher expecations for Aramis. An average OPS of .740 for the first two months actually isn't too bad considering how most third basemans have performed this season. Maybe horrendous wasn't the right word, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about his slow starts in back to back seasons.
  12. I'm indifferent as to what we do with him. On one hand, his really horrendous starts the last two years would have me concerned heading into another multi-year deal with him. But the third base market might be even worse than what Aramis has done at the start of the last two seasons. I still believe he would do what Lee did last season and agree to waive his NTC if enough effort is being put forth by the team that wants to acquire him. But if you trade him now, how much are you going to get back for him? Yes the team that trades for him would have to pick up his deal next year, so you should get a better haul than you would if he would just become a free agent after the season. I'm still not convinced we would get a decent coup for him, however. If you can buy him out and then re-structure his deal for the next 2-3 years, I won't complain. I'm sure that some will find a way to whine about it, but you could obviously do much worse than Aramis at 3rd base.
  13. It's obviously all an act, but I still find a way to laugh every time he talks.
  14. That year was pretty fun.
  15. I really hate how Morin's going to be the odd man out yet again. And Dobbs is forgetting about Ben Smith, who almost certainly will be on the team next year. If he's not, there needs to be an investigation.
  16. What do you guys think? Would you root for this team? Would it work? I'd root for them 78 times a year. I think you could find enough casual basketball fans in the city to come out and support a second basketball team.
  17. This was basically how I felt too. The whole 30 for 30 series does a great job at getting camera views from places that you've never seen before either and they did the same thing with this documentary. It's really tough to watch how all of the fans reacted as the whole 8th inning progressed. It just grew worse as the collapse continued to escalate.
  18. what the hell do they have to do with it? They correlated the Buckner play in 86 with the Bartman play, using examples such as the scapegoat effect both had on their teams and how both events occurred in a Game 6. I understand why they did it (especially considering the producer is a Red Sox fan...lol), but it was a little over the top. I'd say a good 25% of the film consisted of the aftermath of the Buckner play. At the end of it, it was almost like the producer was bragging that the Red Sox were able to overcome their "Buckner curse" with two championships in four years.
  19. The 30 for 30 documentary was featured on the On Demand over here, so I tortured myself for two hours. In typical ESPN fashion, they managed to introduce the Red Sox as the co-stars of the documentary. That said, it was still a really good piece. Watching the reaction of the fans tormenting Bartman wasn't exactly easy to look at.
  20. I'd be all for it, especially considering we now have Montador in the fold.
  21. Meh, I did awhile back to one of his [expletive] articles, but I figured what is the point to harass him publically. I'm sure he still lurks at NSBB and will surely still see the scorn that his articles bring. Did this guy used to post on NSBB? No, of course not. You don't remember bum?
  22. Bring back da bum.
  23. Campoli, Frolik and Stalberg all received qualifying offers. Dowell did not, meaning he's gone.
  24. Kopecky was an UFA anyway. I would've liked to see him back in a reduced role, but obviously he wasn't in the plans. And as for your last post, I'm betting that we'll be seeing either Sopel or Madden (maybe even both) return next year. Wiz could be a possibility as well.
