I would rather trade Gordon than Deng. I think Deng is just a more special player, with a brighter future. I would offer this.... Nocioni, Thomas, Knicks Pick, PJ for Gasol and Warrick. If they want more, I walk away and go with what we've got for now. I like Mark's trade. Don't get me wrong, I really like Deng as well. But we have much more depth at the 3 with Nocioni and Thomas to fill in if Deng is traded for Pau. I would more than likely go ahead and pull the trigger on that deal.

They're tied with the Cavs esentially for second place in the Central and are 1 game back of the Pistons for the best recond in the East. Given their recent history of finishing the season strong, I like where they stand. I just hope we have better success on this west coast trip than the one earlier this year. Great win tonight. Anytime you beat a top Western Conference team, it's a good win.

Whew, one hell of a game at the Arena tonight. SIU won 56-54 as UNI missed a 3 and then the tip-in from the miss was a split second after the buzzer to end the game. We're now 16-5 overall, and 7-3 in the Valley. More importantly, we're in sole possesion of 1st in the Valley. The atmosphere was amazing tonight. Probably the best college game I've been to in quite some time.

If the Bears had been assessed 7 penalties and the Saints only one, I guarantee you the Bears game thread would've been replete with complaints about the officiating. Not saying it was a poorly officiated game - although the one offensive PI call on the Saints was terrible - but that's the truth. I understand that its tough being outnumbered 300-1 by Bears fans on a forum, but you've grown to be incredibly rough with them. EDIT: Actually, going back to the NFC Championship game, I just found you hunting for a fight. Nice job Truffle. You're no better than a troll. I've lost all respect for you. Has Favre announced his intentions for next year, yet? He said he planned on making a decision a few weeks after the season was over. I thought he should have retired prior to last year. Now, I think he should come back for one more year. The Packers might be good enough to earn a playoff spot next year. Lots of money to spend. He hasn't announced yet. If he comes back next year, I'm fairly confident that we're a playoff team next year, and that's without adding anybody new. Our defense nearly finished in the top 10 at the end of the year and right now, our only weakness on defense is at one of the safety positions. We can easily find a safety, be it through FA or the draft. We do have nearly $30 million in cap room to work with to help add some offensive skill players for Favre to work with (if he does come back). My guess is that Favre will wait a couple more weeks to see what direction Thompson and McCarthy decide to go in. If they promise Favre that they will go after Moss or someone of that nature, he'll come back. If they don't, I'm not sure what he'll do. We didn't add much in the offseason last year and he decided to come back, so who knows? You still start Brady Popinga, and I'm not sold on Cullen Jenkins (or KGB), plus there is no depth in the secondary. If anything were to happen to Woodson or Al Harris, the replacement (Dendy?) would get abused. I would worry about the regression of Greg Jennings (though he was banged up) and the running back position, Green isn't getting younger and Morency is a back-up. Plus Kurt Schottenheimer is still your secondary coach. The Packers finished strong, but I think they have some work to do to be considered a playoff team. We put KGB back to a pass rusher only the final four weeks of the season and it worked. He played the best he has since his first year in the league when he came in by storm. Cullen Jenkins really played well as a DE. You're right about our corners. We do need to add a nickelback because we don't have much depth there. A lot of mock drafts have us landing Lynch at 16, so that would end our RB situation. But I do believe that Green still has a couple more years in him and that him and Morency are a solid 1-2 punch. I'm not worried about Jennings either. He had a great year up until he got hurt. We missed our chance on getting Tim Lewis as our secondary coach. Big mistake on our part. Schottenheimer is one of the worst secondary coaches in the league and easily our weak link in our coaching staff. But I really do think that at the end of the season, we showed what we can do next season if we can just make a few upgrades as a whole. Any word on extensions for Nick Barnett or Al Harris up there? I get the feeling one of those guys will be moved like Javon Walker was. If I had to guess I would say Barnett won't be a Packer next year because he has been involved in a few off the field incidents (not a Packer Person), and they have Hodge behind him. I hope we use all of the cap room that we have on at least signing them both to new deals. Harris is supposed to get a new deal this offseason; Barnett, I'm not so sure about.

I'm leaning towards switching to that line of thinking. But if a team doesn't win the final game, would I want to go back and buy a t-shirt? For this, though, I think I'll wait for the SB t-shirt (although the navy locker room shirt does look nice). FTR, and off the subject, the next time one of my teams wins a title (knock on wood), I'm going to buy everything I can. Hats, t-shirts, DVDs, sweatshirts, everything. I'll be doing the same thing as well.

LOL, they're such wimps. Lovie's going nowhere. Bears are about to make him a very rich man, and he loves it in Chicago. It is a pretty interesting point to ponder, though. Lovie is from Texas and he grew up a Cowboys fan. Jerry Jones is only going to hire someone with experience and I think Smith taking the Bears to a Super Bowl in only his 3rd year would be a good match for him. That being said, I'd be fairly sure that the Bears would pony up the cash to make sure that the Cowboys don't lure Lovie into coaching them.

That better not be true. I want the Packers to get in on the Moss bidding in the offseason. If it is true, ATL would be REALLY dumb to not do that deal. The last couple of years, I thought that Schaub was a better QB than Vick anyway, so imagine this offense: Schaub, Dunn/Norwood, Moss, Porter, Lelie, White, Jenkins, Crumpler. You go from having too many #3/#4 wideouts to having probably the deepest WR corps in the league. That would be a REAL scary team next year.

The Bears won the game. Who cares what Reggie did? The final score is all that matters. And personally, I don't care about taunting. I took a lot of heat from saying this to fellow Packer fans in 04, but I didn't mind Randy Moss mooning the fans at Lambeau. Maybe the defense should've actually tried to stop him and that wouldn't have happened. That's just my whole take on the situation.

I think if Tank is held back in Chicago it blows the doors off every news outlet in the city. Who's your backup DT? Idonije? You could do a whole hell of a lot worse than that. Of course the media will make a big deal out of it, but I don't think it would really hinder the outcome of the game.

Devin Hester did the same thing against St. Louis. I don't remember people complaining about that.
