  1. Basically you'd want any and every GM fired. ETA: And you apparently have already decided TT is a wasted pick. Tyrus Thomas is Stromile Smith part II. There are plenty who think the same. Welcome to the board, Mr. Skiles.
  2. And the Bulls beat them by 10 at Toronto. So the Bulls are 2-1 against the Raptors this year and the one point loss at the UC last week was the first time the Raptors had beaten the Bulls in like 14 games. I know Toronto's the flavor of the moment in the East, but I don't think they're a better team than the Bulls. Good point about that game in Toronto. That one slipped my mind. I still would have a hard time believing how we could stop both Bosh and Bargnani. I really believe that Toronto would be a worse matchup for us than say Detroit because of the Raptors big men.
  3. Right now we're tied for the 5th seed. The 4th seed is Toronto. We'd beat them. The top seed is Detroit. We've proven we can beat them, too. Frankly, nothing in the East matters until playoff time. I'm not so sure if we'd beat Toronto considering they just beat us once at the UC last week. Plus we only beat them by two earlier at home. The only guy that can stop Bosh is the guy that Skiles hates playing for some reason. I think we can beat any team in the East on any given night, but in a best of 7 series? I'm not so sure about that.
  4. At the price of two from Hinrich, Nocioni, Deng and Gordon. No thanks. I'm not just talking about Gasol. I'm talking about someone like Abdur-Rahim or Randolph who we could've had for much cheaper than Gasol.
  5. We had the chance to add a big guy and we didn't do it. I'm prepared for another early exit in the playoffs.
  6. We have it in the dorms over here. Good W for the Illini tonight.
  7. SIU grabbed the lead on Indiana State with around 7 to play and never looked back. SIU won 58-50 and won the MVC Regular Season crown outright.
  8. I really hope SIU gets their first two games at Chicago.
  9. We outscored ATL 28-8 in the 3rd  84-58 Bulls with a little under 9 left. Good start to the 2nd half of the season.
  10. With Creighton's loss to Illinois State (   ), SIU grabs the #1 overall seed for next weekend's MVC Tournament. A win against Indiana State tomorrow clinches the MVC Regular Season title outright :D
  11. Yeah, nothing serious though. I'd be very surprised if he takes part in that next year.
  12. Can someone explain to why the coach was over in that area?
  13. When is it? The whole shebang started at 8 on TNT...I don't think they've gotten to the dunks yet though. They just had some sort of bizarre shooting stars competition that I don't know the rules of, but a "Chicago" team of Ben Gordon, Scottie Pippen and Dupree from the Chicago Sky beat a "Detroit" team of Chauncey Billups, Bill Laimbeer and Swin Cash from the Shock. Laimbeer, BTW, looked terribly depressing in a regular basketball uniform. And the Chicago team was DQ'ed because Ben shot out of turn.
  14. Might want to check your math there, that's only a 43 point win. Not that a 43 point win is anything to scoff at. I mis-typed the score. 92-39. 53 point win. Ah. Guess I could have looked it up on ESPN. :D 53? i hope he subbed early. that kind of win could get some bad blood going. probably not a concern against Nebrasks hoops. I have no idea when subs came in, though, I was just checking score updates online. I think everyone on KU's roster. Nebraska was embarrassed by a wide margin by someone else in Big 12 play too. I remember that the game was on ESPN and the 'Huskers went like 12 minutes without scoring a FG. How that team managed to beat Creighton, I'll never know.
  15. Dyer's a decent player, but he's not a 27 PPG-type decent.
  16. SIU gets the win over Butler, 68-64. We could be right near the top 10 on Monday in both polls. Butler's a good team and they'll definitely have a good showing in the Dance, come March. I'm very glad that we were able to beat a team like that on their home floor. Road game against Indiana State on Wednesday. They have totally given up on this season as they lost to Miami Ohio by 12 at home today and they've been really struggling in league play the last few weeks. A win clinches the regular season title for SIU.
  17. Campbell can flat out shoot. Tatum with a crossover move and a jumper to push the SIU lead up to 6 at the 4 minute media timeout.
  18. Tatum buries a 3 right before the halftime buzzer and SIU leads it at the break 30-25.
  19. Valley is 0-3 in the Bracketbuster games so far. Ugh. Well, as long as we beat Butler...
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if Smith's career with U of I is done.
  21. And another extremely weird Bracketbuster matchup that I found: Eastern Illinois (RPI: 316) @ Loyola (RPI: 106)
  22. My guess is that after the TV games, they just decided to start picking names out of a hat to fill out the rest of the teams competing in the BB.
  23. Penn State very nearly pulls off the upset on Ohio State as PSU misses a shot at the buzzer which would've won it. PSU was down 40-19 at half and ended up only losing 64-62.
