  1. Yep, the only team they've played in two months is Gonzaga, who they barely beat. And Gonzaga was just discussed as a team not worthy of an at large. I wonder where they get seeded. I would give Memphis a 2 seed right now but if they win their conference tournament and have some other potential number 1's lose early in their conference tournaments (UCLA, Wisconsin, Florida, Kansas) then they could move up to a #1 seed. Here's the thing about Memphis though. High RPI of 8, which is worthy enough of a 2 seed. But their SOS is only 73. Even worse, their top 50 record is only 1-3, with their only top 50 win against Kentucky. Only four top 50 opponents in the season. Not too good. I'd be very surprised if they get a anything higher than a 4 seed.
  2. Yeah, I was just thinking about that today as well. I'd be interested again.
  3. Breaking news on ESPN, Thomas Jones traded to the Jets.
  4. Has Juan Pierre been sneaking into camp? what do you mean? Someone hasn't been on here long enough
  5. 13th and 14th in the polls after a loss. Not bad.
  6. Thompson misses out on another RB...now there's rumors that we're talking to Detroit for Tatum Bell. Ugh. Supposedly we asked if the Bears were trading Thomas Jones, but he's reportedly "off-limits." Of course, that's probably only because Angelo doesn't want to trade him to a team within the division. And it looks like the Patriots are interested in the Moss bidding now as well. Ted needs to get off his ass and start making some moves.
  7. If teams know we're desperate to unload him, a 1st rounder will be out of the question. I think that's the problem. Angelo has to appear strong -- like he's perfectly willing to let Briggs sit all year if necessary. Otherwise he'll look desperate and teams will try to fleece Briggs away. I'm still not sure the exact value Briggs brought to this ballclub. He's playing right next to a Hall of Famer in the prime of his career, was a 3rd round pick, played for THE premiere linebacker franchise in the NFL. I mean if there's one thing the Bears can do, it's turn a bag of bones into a solid linebacker. Just look at what we did with Hillenmeyer. A first round pick is out of the question now that he came out publicly and said this. From an outside viewpoint, Briggs is a hell of an outside LB...one of the best in the league. I guarantee the Bears would have a weakness at that position if they wouldn't draft Poz, or sign Joey Porter. Briggs is a real dependable LB. Don't forget the couple of huge stops he made against Seattle that basically won the game for the Bears.
  8. SIU is still a 3 seed in Lunardi's bracket and Warren Nolan's bracket. Not bad at all.
  9. I don't think that's a shocking number at all considering the amount of money being thrown around right now. For a guy that's in his 30s and for a guy that has been ridiculously prone to injuries the last few years, I'm shocked at the number.
  10. Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N5MbTdfJTw
  11. As I said, the announcers came off as total Duke homers. I wanted to see Hansbrough go ape on Henderson. Woulda loved that. Jim Nantz and Billy Packer. Enough said. Billy Packer is terrible. He did the GT/UNC game on Thursday and in the post game said Tech needed to win 2 or 3 more games. Today, he says Tech is a lock. Packer and Nantz will be there all the way through March. Meh. If Packer had his way, the NCAA tournament would only feature teams from the Big 6 conferences. So true.
  12. Apparently the Texans signed Ahman Green to a 4 year, $23 million deal

  14. At least we didn't give up when we were down big. What a game by BG :D
  15. Redd with 44 in 3 quarters. This is annoying.
  16. 82-68 Bucks. Are you kidding me?
  17. Tell me about it. Creighton got away with so many push-offs. The FT disparity was a complete joke. Well, there goes our chance at a 2 seed...
  18. Penn State is definitely winnable, as is IU. They just have to piece it together for 40 whole minutes.
  19. Whew. That was a heck of a game. SIU was pretty fortunate to pull that out as Bradley missed a couple of FTs in the late going. Still, a win is a win. Bradley is a dangerous team, though...that's for sure. MVC Final tomorrow pits us against Creighton at 1 on CBS. Should be fun.
  20. He's been playing really pathetic today. Another awful shot just about seals the deal.
  21. Not the prettiest W (something like 21 turnovers), but a 104-93 win nonetheless. Bulls are now just a 1/2 game out of 2nd in the East.
  22. Did anybody see this one coming? I dont remember ever reading the Pats being interested. From PFI... While not completed the number will be basically be $7.5 million per year and $17 million guaranteed. The 49ers were rumored with Thomas, but with the signing of Clements, I'm sure they couldn't afford Thomas' demands. The Packers were interested in Thomas, but he became way out of our price range.
  23. Clements is a solid player, but that's an AWFUL deal for him. I have a feeling many Niners fans are going to be disappointed in that deal by probably year three of that deal.
  24. SIU won 71-59. The finish to the Bradley-UNI game was a great one, I heard. Will Franklin made a 3 with just over 1 second left to give Bradley the win. SIU plays Bradley tomorrow at 1:30 in the first semifinal.
  25. sounds like a patriot league game, at least judging by the score Yeah, it hasn't been pretty. We're something like 3-13 on 3 piont attempts, but at least 10 of those were wide open shots. We're moving the ball well and we're attacking their zone defense well, which is usually our major weakness, so I feel confident that we'll pull away in the 2nd half.
