  1. Oh and then an offensive rebound at the end of the game seals the deal. Thanks for not adding someone with height.
  2. About to lose to Orlando at home. This is the most inconsistant team I've seen...well, with the exception of last year's team. Ever since we had that 9 game winning streak, it seems like we win a couple, then lose a couple, win one, lose one, etc. Just extremely frustrating to see us crap the bed against a team not even in the top 8 in the East.
  3. SIU's a 3 in Lunardi's bracket. We're a 2 on Warren Nolan. Hopefully, if we win the MVC Tournament this weekend, that would cement us as a 2. Georgetown goes down tonight as well. SIU should be in the top 10 if we win the conference tournament.
  4. SIU got a verbal from Justin Bocot, one of the best guards in the state, for 2007 :)
  5. well Cartwright was a big man who couldn't develop Chandler either. If you want to blame Paxson for the Curry trade, I have no problem with that, though I think the "future heart problems" was a convenient excuse for trading a player that they just didn't think was willing to work hard or stay in shape. I understand why we traded Curry, and I'm fine with that. The Chandler trade, I wasn't too thrilled about, but I dealed with it. The problem I have was trading away Tim Thomas and JR Smith for basically nothing. Thomas was sensational in the playoffs last year and Smith was having a great season this year before he got hurt. The way Skiles handled the situation with both of those guys was a joke.
  6. development be damned. if oden is a top 3 pick, he'd be insane not to go pro. Just because he could be a top 3 pick doesn't mean he's ready to play in the NBA. They are two completely different things. You are forgetting one big factor: $$$ who cares is he's ready to play? the risk of dropping from top 3 to the 2nd round would be a huge drop in cash. leinert still had a good year and he fell to what, 13? Leinart fell to 9. Huge difference from being the 1st overall pick and making the most money to the 9th overall pick and not even selected as the first QB. Noah definitely missed his chance last year as well. If Oden does the same thing, I can't say I won't be surprised. Oden's a top 2 pick in the Draft no matter what. I don't think it would be the best decision in the world if he stayed in school.
  7. Pax and Skiles love the guy's leadership. I didn't like him much in his first stint here and I like him even less now. I thought it was a good signing back when we got him in the offseason because he was a pretty solid player with Dallas. I was definitely wrong on that one. How he's getting minutes over Sefolosha, I'll never know.
  8. yeah, how dare Skiles allow them to score 12 unanswered! He should have told his team to, um, not do that! HUH? It happens far too often with our team. I know in the NBA, any team can make a run. But we have blown countless double digit leads the past two years. The coaching has to be responsible for that.
  9. Just bad coaching. How we let up after we get a double digit lead is inexcusable.
  10. Another damn second chance.
  11. Prince misses both FTs. Let's see the play Skiles draws up...
  12. Well, this game is pretty much done now. Deng goes up soft on a fastbreak and gets blocked by Prince. Hamilton gets fouled on the other end and hits both FTs. 5 point Pistons lead.
  13. Our defense has gone to crap and we're settling for crappy jumpers now. Absolutely pathetic.
  14. Wallace was hacked TWICE on that dunk attempt and no call. Thankfully the Pistons didn't convert on the other side.
  15. Up to a 12 point lead with 9 left in the 3rd. Offense looks real fluid and the defense has been solid as well.
  16. SIU won the regular season finale, on Senior Night, over Evansville, 76-69. We played brutal on defense, but 30 points from Randal Falker insured a win for us. After the game, each player cut a piece of the net off celebrating the 5th regular season title in 6 years :D MVC Tournament begins in Thursday in St. Louis. SIU's first game will be on Friday at noon against one of the play-in game winners.
  17. Exactly what I'm thinking. Still, two wins in a row against two of the top teams in the East. If we can beat Detroit in Detroit on Sunday, I will be extremely pleased with the direction that we'd be in.
  18. Wow, I am glad we don't have Mike Brown as our coach. What the heck was he trying to pull as he was down by 4 with 31 seconds left? They don't foul until 20 seconds later. Some real stupid coaching by Cleveland. Not that I'm complaining. First win in Cleveland since both of us were the laughingstocks of the league.
  19. By the way, it's extremely laughable at how Tyrus hasn't been in this game yet.
  20. Adrian Griffin blows.
  21. Basically you'd want any and every GM fired. ETA: And you apparently have already decided TT is a wasted pick. Tyrus Thomas is Stromile Smith part II. There are plenty who think the same. Welcome to the board, Mr. Skiles. Your post makes no sense  Maybe if TT had an offensive game he would get more minutes, but if you have Thomas and Wallace in the game toghether the rest of the guys are playing 3 on 5 offensively. It makes perfect sense because even though TT was the 4th pick in the draft, he's getting far significantly less playing time than anyone else that was close to him in terms of where they were picked. He gives the team a defensive presence and energy. You're seriously telling me that you'd rather have guys like PJ, Sweetney, Malik, and Khryapa get more playing time than Thomas? Thomas is by far a better defender than all of them and his athleticism can lead to a better offensive game (most of the time) than any of those guys.
  22. Roll to a 20-point loss against the Sixers last night. A top 3 pick is not likely, a top 10 pick is, and this is a draft to have it. Good to hear they lost last night. Let's hope Paxon realizes this team needs scoring inside. I don't think he does. A couple of weeks ago, his exact words was that we needed an inside presence. There's no doubt that we'll draft a big man with the pick. I just hope it's not going to be the next Tyson Chandler in Joakim Noah.
