  1. They remind me of White Sox fans. Pretty sure I've never heard a "Cubs suck" chant that loud at the Cell.
  2. Wow, these Mets fans are pathetic.
  3. Well, at least this shows that our bullpen can still suck even when we're down by a ton.
  4. lol, this is so pathetic that it's becoming amusing.
  5. This is about as predictable as it gets. You just had to know that after we scored 10 yesterday that a bum like Sosa would shut us down.
  6. PECOTA actually projected him as a more valuable second baseman this year than either Todd Walker or Jerry Hairston. PECOTA's credibility is falling if that is the case. Looks like PECOTA could be right on the money.
  7. Tennessee won 5-4. Petrick pitched 2 shutout innings of relief and Henderson came on to strike out the side in the 9th to get the save.
  8. Tennessee up 5-4 in the bottom of the 6th. Gallagher's line: 6 IP, 8 hits, 4 ER's, 5 K's/2 BB's. Jake Fox is a perfect 3/3 with two HR's and 3 RBI's. Kroeger is 2/3 with a double and an RBI. McGehee is 1/3 with a double and an RBI.
  9. Yeah, I wanted to see that switch-pitch pitcher as well.
  10. lol @ Nellie's interview. Guy seemed pretty lost.
  11. The Warriors really need an attitude adjustment next season. I don't think I've ever seen a group of sore losers like these guys.
  12. Apparently it would be on Monday.
  13. That would be an interesting game. No Amare and Duncan. No Diaw and Bowen. At least it would make it a whole heck of a lot easier for the Suns to win Game 5. GS up by 2 at the half.
  14. Yeah, but I think we probably would've lost game 5 if we were to win game 3. Nonetheless, we'll never find out. Great game tonight. We took control of the game early and did not let up. Let's do the same thing on Thursday and we'll send this back to Detroit.
  15. You don't recall our bullpen with Alfonsucka or Hawkins then? Well, in a couple years you'll probably be saying, "don't you remember those bozos Howry, Eyre, and Ohman?" It's really that bad. This is definitely in Alfonsucka territory, don't you think? How many leads do they have to blow? Cubs bullpen ERA's: 2007: 3.61 (before today) 2006: 4.04 2005: 4.24 2004: 4.03 2003: 4.16 2002: 4.86 2001: 3.93 2000: 5.17 This is the best pen the Cubs have had in a while. Meh! I watch every game and this pen is bad. Giving up 10 loses is terrible. Doesn't matter. Say a starter gives up 6 runs in only 3 innings, the team comes back to tie the game, and the bullpen gives up 1 run late in the game to lose 7-6. In that case, the bullpen was solid (1 run in 6 innings) while the starter was horrible (6 runs in 3 innings) yet the pen gets charged with the loss. Yeah, but how many times has that happened this year? The starting pitching has been the least of our problems.
  16. Big assist goes to Felix with an OF assist to save the game in the top half of the 10th.
  17. Prior's not already on the 60-day? That should be the logical choice.
  18. Iowa scored 2 in the 9th to tie it at 4 after RBI singles by Hoffpauir and Soto, which scored Felix and Kinkade. Iowa had a chance to win it with runners at 1st and 3rd and only 1 out, but Cedeno struck out swinging and Walker grounded out. Free baseball in Des Moines.
  19. Smokies come back with 5 in the 8th to win 6-4. Veal got the win in relief going 2 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run, 3 K's/4 BB's. Geoffrey Jones got the 1 out save as he got a K to end the game. Carlos Rojas had a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the 8th to put Tennessee in the lead for good. Salas and Simokaitis also had RBI singles in the 8th. Jake Fox finished 4/4 with a solo HR and 3 singles. Iowa down 2-1 in the top of the 5th. EPatt is 1/2 with a walk. Pie is 0/1 with a walk and Cedeno walked in his first PA.
  20. Ugh, rough 8th for Veal: 1 hit, 1 run, 1 K/3 BB's. 4-1 Chattanooga in the bottom of the 8th.
  21. Tennessee down 3-1 in the bottom of the 7th. Miller's final line: 5.2 IP, 7 hits, 3 runs, 1 K/2 BB's, 7 groundouts-9 flyouts. Mendez came in to get the final out in the 6th. Veal pitched the 7th out of relief allowing a hit and striking out 1. Jake Fox hit his 6th HR of the season to account for Tennessee's scoring so far.
