    K'd the side vs. the Brewers. FTW, IIRC Actually Farnsworth got the win and Wellemeyer got the save. Yeah, that was that 16 or 17 inning game where our pitchers threw a ton of K's. I miss those days.

    And now Mets.com and Cubs.com have Vargas starting for New York. Wow, our hitters are 3/28 against Cy Vargas. Chalk this one up in the L column.

    The Orioles-Blue Jays game was awful. The Blue Jays announcers just about put me to sleep and the Orioles pitcher (some guy I've never heard of before) seemed like he was taking lessons from Trachsel. Burnett had a real good start, but the first two innings were two of the worst innings I have witnessed in a while.

    not really. they shouldn't have won this game. they are overachieving just to make it close. sooner or later the spurs were gonna take over or at least make it very tense Well, they were up by 7 halfway through the 4th. I know they don't have the depth, but you can't blow a lead like that at home. They kinda got screwed on the suspensions situation. You won't find me arguing about that.

    He walks way too many batters. And for a lefty, he sure sucks against left-handed hitters. But I'm more upset with many other pitchers in the pen, rather than Cotts.

    Shouldn't it be 3 earned runs? I mean, the first error was Samardzija's. Does that matter? No, it doesn't. If the person who reached on an error by the pitcher comes around to score, it's still an unearned run. I've always thought they should change that. But this was an errant pickoff throw (granted there's a chance that the runner would score from second without the errant pickoff throw, but it was a pretty hard hit RBI single). Well, usually in that case, the home team's scorer makes the call. I think it could really go either way. But if it was with 2 outs and the guy reached on a base hit and then advanced to 2nd on the error, I'd probably rule it an "unearned" run, simply because he would not have scored on a base hit if the errant throw did not happen.

    Look at the numbers for every regular on the Sox. They are lowest in the league in BA and I'm pretty sure it's not even close.
