Shouldn't it be 3 earned runs? I mean, the first error was Samardzija's. Does that matter? No, it doesn't. If the person who reached on an error by the pitcher comes around to score, it's still an unearned run. I've always thought they should change that. But this was an errant pickoff throw (granted there's a chance that the runner would score from second without the errant pickoff throw, but it was a pretty hard hit RBI single). Well, usually in that case, the home team's scorer makes the call. I think it could really go either way. But if it was with 2 outs and the guy reached on a base hit and then advanced to 2nd on the error, I'd probably rule it an "unearned" run, simply because he would not have scored on a base hit if the errant throw did not happen.
