Just the fact that the Hawks have been in every one of their games against 3 of the best teams in the West is satisfying to me. But beating Detroit twice is amazing. I've been real impressed with this team so far. Khabibulin has been as good as you can imagine in the early going.

I'm scared of Western Kentucky. They scored 87 on some crap team earlier this year. If you're capable of dropping that much under any circumstances you can tear apart the Cardinals' defense. They did beat Mid Tenn State on the road. They're not that bad. I think they'll hang with Ball State for 2 1/2 quarters before BSU puts them away.

I'd feel much more confident if Havlat wasn't hurt. Nonetheless, this team has much more talent on the offensive attack this year. They played real good against the Wild and pulled out the win yesterday. Hopefully they string together a few W's.

If it was at Champaign, then yes. But Iowa is always tough at Kinnick, so it's going to be closer than what it should be. I still think Illinois wins by a TD. SIU-Northern Iowa is probably the biggest I-AA game of the year up to this date. If we can go there and get a win, we should go undefeated in the regular season. As far as NIU goes, I'll be surprised if they win another game this year. They are BAD.

I dont understand why people keep saying this. The Cubs have one of the better offenses in the NL. They have one of the better rotations in the NL. They have one of the better bullpens in the NL. So why cant they come together as a cohesive unit? If you cant come together and form Voltron all you have is a bunch of goofs riding around in robot lions. best offenses in the nl? the cubs were 8th in runs scored, 8th in slg, 9th in obp, 11th in home runs, and 8th in ops. we were mediocre at best on offense. the cubs probably had the 2nd best pitching overall, but they also gave up the 4th most walks, so it's not like the pitching was lights out. it's disappointing the cubs lost and played like they did, but i don't think anyone should be shocked. Exactly. Everyone who has followed this team this year knows how bad this offense underachieved. There were many stretches in the season when the offense would just flame out completely. Unfortunately, it flamed out in the playoffs as well. The pitching was good, but as indicated, it was also a little bit erratic. It's painful to know that the Cubs are eliminated (especially in the way they were eliminated, but I just felt like they had too many flaws to make a serious run at it this year.
