At least Rodgers didn't get snubbed again. Grant, Driver, and Matthews all should have gotten more support than they did (although Matthews is a first alternate).

We were down by 2 at half to Indiana State (went on a 9 minute scoreless drought) before scoring 44 points in the second half to win 70-52. That's definitely a good start to conference play in getting a win against an improved Indiana State team. Scoring 44 points in a half is something I could get used to as well.

Niemi was fine. He made more than his fair share of big stops as well to keep the game at a one goal deficit. Huet just looked horrible tonight but both goalies have been exceptional lately. I don't know how much stock I should put into his bad outing tonight seeing as how it really is his first bad outing in quite some time. The defense really didn't help matters either.

If the game is meaningful for Arizona (meaning the Giants beat the Vikes at noon), then I hope we see our starters play for at least a half. Otherwise if the Vikings take care of business, be prepared to see a lot of Matt Flynn and Matt Leinart.

i think the nfl is pretty much wide open No question, but all six teams in the NFC will have a shot at making it to the Super Bowl. I think three teams (at most) in the AFC have a shot at going that far.

of course they play better than cutler did tonight. cutler either doesn't have the line those guys have or the receivers or both. wait, it's both for every single one of them. rodgers's line has been much better lately and his receiver corp is incredibly talented and deep. Hey it's been better but I wouldn't call it 'much' better. I'll agree with you on the point about receivers.

Neither of those teams will be in the NFC Championship. Sounds good to me, as long as Farve somehow ends up with egg on his face and the Vikings don't win the Super Bowl. Not winning the Super Bowl means he'll end with egg on his face? He played a great game tonight and took control of things in the second half. It's not his fault the o-line has stretches where they don't know how to block and the defense suddenly is horrible. Or that the defensive coordinator (who supposedly would be a top target of the Bears if Lovie is fired) insists on blitzes that never get there and leaving an 80% CB one-on-one in overtime. Or has a running back who fumbled the game away. If he doesn't at least make the Super Bowl, it'll be a failure.

If the Cowboys win and the Packers lose, we play Dallas. We could play Minnesota too as that would happen if Minnesota loses out, Philadelphia wins, and we lose to Arizona. Otherwise we'll be playing the Cards.

You crowd of haters are the ones that apparently think that the fact that we think Meyer is a douche stems solely from his not coming to ND five years ago (even though he basically was all but signed at Florida by the time ND talked to him). There are thousands of fans that think Meyer is an ass, but if Notre Dame fans do it it's because of penis envy. Whatever. Who thinks Meyer is an ass? I am no fan of Florida but dont think any less of Urban Meyer than say Brian Kelly or Bob Stoops or Mac Brown or Pete Carroll. lol, he's not an ass? I remember back when he was the coach at Bowling Green, he whined to NIU after NIU beat his ranked BG team because he was crying that the student section was being too unruly to his players. I'm definitely not a Notre Dame fan and I despise Urban Meyer. I don't know how anyone can buy that health excuse after his declaration yesterday that he wasn't resigning.

It isn't. Think of the Saints as the Cubs. They're toast. They're banged up. They missed a chip shot field goal. The Saints are fine. I do think they need to run it a little more though...why do they ignore Pierre Thomas? Did he get hurt? Pierre Thomas left with bruised ribs....maybe cracked...waiting on x-rays. Ah, thanks.

That was a whole lot of fun. Nothing like both our game and the Giants game being basically decided at halftime. The NFC is completely wide open. Any of the six teams in the playoffs will have a somewhat realistic chance at advancing to the Super Bowl.

Finally got my first win with USC over BC. Once I got to 0-4, I was just rooting to go winless. That's a shame.

That's funny. Now before I go on, don't shoot me please. I think most of you know that I'm a pretty respectable Packer fan. From my point of view, the Bears have a lack of talent. Lovie has made more than his fair share of stupid decisions this year with in-game coaching but ultimately, there is a lack of talent on both sides of the football. That falls on Angelo and if one of the guys is going to be fired, he's the one to go first. You can make the very logical argument that both of them should be fired but this mess is Angelo's fault. Even the most loyal Cutler apologists have to admit that Denver robbed the Bears blind back in April and then Angelo followed that up by acquiring a tremendous bust in Gaines Adams for a second round pick. So you have a team full of holes and now you're not going to be picking in the draft until the 3rd round this coming April. Bravo, Jerry. Look at all of the positions on the team. The Bears have a bad offensive line, a horrid LB corps without Urlacher and a secondary that is pretty bad too. The WR's aren't very good, but that really isn't even close to problem number one. Lovie's getting blamed for that? I'm not buying it. Forte doesn't get many holes to run through but he's one of the softer backs in the league when he actually does get a hole. He doesn't really break many tackles, either. The depth after Forte is laughably bad. And again, there's no other way around it. Cutler's been horrible this year. I'll just go back to point out how much Grossman was ridiculed back during his Super Bowl season, yet he still threw three more TD passes than INT's. No, that's not good at all but how people still continue to make excuses for Cutler is beyond me. Free Agency isn't a good way to go if you're going to fix a mess. For every good pickup that you find on the market, you have guys like Adalius Thomas, Bernard Berrian, and Nate Clements out there where they're not even close to being worth the amount of money they're being paid. It's very arguable in my mind that Angelo should be fired for the Adams trade alone. So go ahead and fire Lovie if you must, but there's not a lot of coaches in the league that could turn this team around with the talent that's currently on it.

I still don't think there's any chance that Niemi will end up making more than Huet will next year. Huet's been very solid since the start of the season, so he's going to have some value. And if we're going to have to move a guy in the offseason, I think Huet might be the first guy I take a look at especially given the production that Niemi has given us this year.
