  1. Don't blow it, you idiots.
  2. Oh and VDN cancelled practice today. lol.
  3. Gibson? Really? He was number 22 right? He and Rose were the only guys who stood out as talented, not that he stood out all that much. Hinrich looks bad, Miller looks bad (why was he the featured shooter late in the game?), Noah looks effective but extremely clumsy and ugly. I forgot about Deng, he looked pretty good from time to time, but it seemed like he was out there the entire time and didn't do a heck of a lot. Maybe that's unfair, and of course this is the impression of a guy who knows very little about basketball. That Salmons guy is a joke. I didn't understand why people thought a couple months of nice play after the trade meant he should become the go to guy. Deng's a guy that is talented but if he's not used in plays where he's cutting, he's extremely ineffective and he disappears for quite some time on offense. Everything else sounds about right. I've been pleasantly surprised with Gibson this year but I don't think he's going to be anything more than a serviceable role player in the league.
  4. About to be 0-4 on my picks so far. This is going about as well as I could have possibly hoped.
  5. Damn, had some chances there.
  6. And to think, I thought they were actually going to be respectable this year after their decent start to the season. I don't get how Wainwright still has a job.
  7. That would have been a catastrophic win, if there ever was such a thing.
  8. It's not necessarily about scoring on those. It's about setting up rebounds and screens in front of the net. Right, I get that but I don't really think that stat alone tells you whether or not you're dominating an opponent. For some teams that play a more conventional style of hockey, it probably does but not with us. That's basically our bread and butter.
  9. The SOG thing is such an overrated stat when it comes to this team. Every time I see a Hawks game, I see them shooting pucks from the blue line and from some angles where it would take a picture-perfect shot to knock it past the goalie. That being said, they were owning the Sharks the first two periods of this game. I figured it was only a matter of time before they scored a goal but then we give it right back. Not good.
  10. Hopefully the Knicks win by 40 tonight.
  11. [expletive] off, Versus.
  12. These are all valid points, but firing Vinny now as opposed to in January or April won't accomplish anything. They're going to have an interim coach, because no respectable coach will want to come in midseason and try to clean this up. As long as Vinny is fired before the year is over, or within a few days of that, it doesn't really matter. I said this right after the game but if you don't fire him within the next week, you might as well just give the bastard an extension. You're already showing that you don't care about the product on the court in the first place and then you keep a coach who lost to a team that was 1-19, has consistently been blown out this season, and oh yeah...they just blew a 35 point lead to the Kings at home. If VDN isn't fired after tonight, there needs to be an investigation as to what's going on behind closed doors. Everyone knows this organization is filled with idiots but if VDN keeps his job after all of this and somehow lasts the season, it just goes to show you how uncommitted they really are to doing anything this year. They deserve to have the 2010 FA class blow up in their face if VDN isn't canned.
  13. It's not like finishing 3rd in the Big 12 behind KU and Texas is some sort of an awful thing.
  14. Oh and go Skins.
  15. I really can't blame Favre for being pissed off. I mean it was a one point game. This sounds like the third or fourth time this has happened this year as well. It's more of a fault at Childress than it is at Favre, I think.
  16. I think this weekend proved that the NFC (and AFC I suppose) is WIDE open. As long as we get in, we have as good of a shot as anyone...although our lack of depth at CB is certainly frightening.
  17. SIU goes 2-0 in Vegas, getting two amazing comeback wins in the final minutes against...San Diego and San Francisco. Not the best competition but wins are wins, I guess. 7-2 with the two losses being road losses at a ranked UNLV team and a SLU team (who we never beat over there) isn't too bad of an OOC mark. The problem is we don't really have any good wins to show for either. The MVC is down again this year, so I really don't know what to expect from this team in conference play. First game is next Tuesday against Indiana St.
  18. Go watch the Blackhawks. They are making everything feel much better. It's helping a little bit.
  19. Don't fault Bell on that final play. That was excellent coverage, just a hell of a throw by Big Bitch Roethlisberger and a tremendous catch too. Blame Jarrett [expletive] Bush for that loss. I hate the Steelers. We have some of the most heartbreaking losses in NFL history, but what else is new? As long as we take care of business against Seattle, everything's fine. Still, I want to throw up right now.
  20. Joe Johnson was all over Rose, though. Still those two plays were mind-boggling bad.
  21. 92-92, 35 seconds left.
  22. yeah, it's the dome that is making the Saints not tackle anyone. lol, never said that but everyone was assuming the Saints were going to win the NFC just based on HFA and completely ignoring the fact how bad/unhealthy their defense has been ever since the Patriots game.
  23. All of a sudden, I'm not so scared of going into the Superdome anymore.
  24. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-17-big-ten-brite-dec17,0,3820862.story 12 is bad enough. The only schools that should be considered are Notre Dame and Texas. If they don't want in, then you stick with 11. Win.
  25. I can see both sides of the argument. It's just as a fan and hypothetical coach/GM I would never want players who will take plays off when he feels like it. Give me the guys who are so competitive and driven that one bad play is too much for them. So because some boob on Carolina said Moss quit on his team, that means it's accurate? I'm not buying it. Moss hasn't been a problem at all in New England and it sounds more like sour grapes from Gamble's end than anything else. Give me Moss over T.O. any day of the week. Have you not watched Moss his whole career??? The question of whether he was quit on some plays came about in college and has been brought up in almost every year of his pro career including his first year or two when he was forced to return punts early on and he walked out of bounds on one (with no one around). That's false. It hasn't been brought up at all since he's been on the Patriots until now.
