:( Yeah giving Penn state it's only Big 10 win of the season in Evanston no less is pretty damaging for a team's NCAA hopes. Carmody has his team playing worse as the season goes on... They're really not very deep. They don't have a bench at all and I think it's obvious that the lack of depth is catching up to them. Still, there's no excuse to be embarrassed by Iowa at Iowa City and then losing at home to Penn State.

Nevermind, I heard Bosh just called a press conference to say that there is no way in hell that he'll play in Chicago without John Salmons. The Bulls are screwed. Exactly, it's John [expletive] Salmons. You should see the RealGM reaction to this trade. You'd have thought that we traded a player that was actually great or something.

You're really underestimating how good Rose has been since mid-December and how good Noah has been all season long. The Salmons deal was perfect. But apparently the deal isn't final as it could be expanded to include Houston and/or Sacramento. The next day and a half is going to be extremely interesting.

He's only day-to-day. Q said it would be a long-shot for him to play today but I don't think there's any doubt that he's going to be in Vancouver in a couple of days.

Still waiting. Even before tonight (with the exception of the Howard year), the dunk contest has become very vanilla and watered-down.

Niemi's a fine backup, but I think it's pretty clear he doesn't have it to be the #1 guy. I guess you can say Huet would be a solid backup as well. How about we try to acquire a goaltender that is capable of being a number one guy in the net each and every single night before the deadline? I like hearing these rumors about multiple goalies but I'm at the point right now where I really believe we have to make a move before the deadline if we want to be in a legitimate position to win the Cup this season. Niemi is a beast at shootouts, though. That's certainly encouraging.

Big metal poles coming off a corner that sharp might be one of the dumbest ideas ever. That was absolutely horrible.

At the same time, we more than likely wouldn't have Toews or Kane. you're still going to be much better off with one of Malkin or Ovechkin and whoever you picked in the top 10 both years. i'm not really bemoaning it or anything, it's just interesting to consider. Oh yeah, I don't disagree with you at all. Knowing our past management though, we probably would have managed to screw that up.

Great move, all things considered. It's definitely nice to be able to free up some salary and not really experience a downgrade at all.

Yea NCAA really needs to expand the tournament field... Most of those teams are trash The depth of college basketball have been pretty bad the last couple of years. Expanding the tournament wouldn't really be productive when you'd be including a couple more Pac-10 teams and mediocre Big East teams in the field.

If we keep that up, we'll be dancing. Even if you guys fall to Wisconsin, I have a hard time seeing Northwestern missing the tournament if they can beat everybody else on their remaining schedule.
