  1. This is a serious question. Is it a warning only when a mod is called nuts or when any poster is called nuts? When anyone is called nuts. But I have banning power! :w00t: :assault:
  2. I'd just install it for fun this week, partially to loosen up Orton, partially to give opposing DCs something extra to think about, and partially to screw with the Vikings. I'd like the shotgun, simply because it's a good idea. I think it would help Orton, because he would be away from the pressure from the snap, and wouldn't have to worry about his drop much. It would help Grossman, because he doesn't have great size to see over the line.
  3. That's my feeling. Maybe you do some max protect with Grossman early in the game, but pull him by the 2nd quarter. I don't think he looked rusty against ATL or GB. I think 2 weeks of healthy practice would be enough to have him ready for the first playoff game. Ideally you could get another full healthy game out of him before then, but all things considered, rest might not be bad. If he was anything short of 100% on the ankle before, even 95%, the time could help. And with Orton's confidence shot, it might help to let him go back and air it out for blips and giggles. Put in 2 WR 2 TE sets, and have him throw 10 passes to the TE and 15 to the WR. Put in the shutgun here and there. Have him loose and ready in case Grossman does go down in 2 weeks. And if Orton is crap, go to Blake. I don't think Turner even has the shotgun in his offense.
  4. If Baltimore is even thinking about this deal, the Cubs have to be able to get Tejada for prospects. They can get players and prospects just as good as this deal, with a cheaper cost...and they don't have Tejada playing the same division.
  5. 1. it's not a good idea to call a mod, "nuts". Consider this a warning. 2. Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't mean it should be done. What Burnett, Morris and others got is irrelavant, because I wouldn't have given them those deals either. It's not a good idea to give anyone with 1 good year, that much money. Like I said, I have been one of Garland's strongest supporters, but he was bad until last year. He's gonna be decent for a while, but he doesn't have the peripheral stats to be a guy that consistently posts a 3.50 ERA. He'll probably be anywhere between there and 4 during his peak, which should be starting now. That's solid, but I wouldn't give him that type of contract.
  6. I think he would be an average #2 at best. He's had success here and there, mainly between week 9 and week 12. He's had just 68 attempts this year. I don't see him as a starter, and I'd rather have my backup RB be capable of taking over when the starter needs to be replaced. What he said. he's successful whenever he gets the carries. again, there's no reason to believe he wouldn't be quality. I'd like to see him maintain that average over a 20 carry game. I know Benson hasn't had that many carries, but at least he has the pedigree to back him up. With this last game being pretty meaningless, I'd love to see AP get about 15-20 carries, with Jones getting about 5-7, and Benson getting a few to get back in action.
  7. Jerame Tuman- PIT (would love him) Chad Lewis-PHI Christian Fauria- NE Teyo Johnson- ARZ (restricted) Matt Schoebel- CIN Cam Cleeland- STL

  9. That's pretty much how I think it will finish. I'd put Iowa ahead of Minnesota and Michigan, though. I'd have to say that Illinois is the biggest surprise. Everyone knew they would have a pretty good team, but they are a top 5-6 team. I think they have gone from possible Sweet 16 to a team that can make it to the Final 4.
  10. Don't get me wrong, I really like what Jones has done. I thought it was a very shrewd move signing him for relatively cheap (for a starting RB). He's not going to be a salary cap killer. He's also not good enough to hold out for a better contract. He's been a good RB for the Bears. And hopefully as soon as he's done Benson will be there to pick up the slack. I would have preferred Angelo draft a WR in the first this year, somebody who could help immediately at a major need position, as opposed to RB, which wasn't a big need. But Benson is here now, and they have to plan on him being the guy within the next year or 2. It's almost a must to have 2 capable RBs in the NFL. There's no reason to get rid of Benson or Jones without an equally talented back in there. Peterson is a decent back, but I don't want him as a #2. Plus, isn't he a FA after this year? There's enough carries and injuries to go around, no need to get rid of RBs at this stage.
  11. that would be a solid pick.
  12. I would draft a TE, and get one in Free Agency. The blocking TE would be a veteran acquired via trade. And draft a young pass catcher. I don't know if I would draft one early though, unless Lewis is there in the mid-late 20s. I would love to get an OLB in the 1st and TE in the 2nd.
  13. Me either. And I've been perhaps his strongest supporter as far as Garland turning the corner.
  14. So not only does he pick against the Bears for like the 15th time this season, but he has no idea that Minnesota was eliminated from the Playoffs last week???? HAHA. I can't wait to see the playoff predictions. NY Giants 48, Bears 3. They are picking bad teams to score 3 TDs against the Bears, what do they think good teams would do?
  15. Ah, I missed the NL East thing. Your right. They have no chance of that. Maybe I did say Seattle rather than the Bears. But, since Seattle has it locked up, we'll never know. I'll take the blame for that....afterall, I had NL in the thread title.
  16. The makeup of this team kinda reminds me of the Orioles teams of a few years back who threw a $100M+ team on the field, only to have them disappoint. The Jays have thrown a lot of money out there, but they do have much younger talent than many of the O's teams did. Roster looks like: LF- Reed Johnson 2B- Aaron Hill CF- Vernon Wells 3B- Troy Glaus 1B- Lyle Overbay DH- Corey Koskie/Shea Hillenbrand SS- Russ Adams C- Gregg Zaun RF- Alex Rios Rotation Roy Halladay AJ Burnett Gustavo Chacin Josh Towers Dustin McGowan Bullpen CL- BJ Ryan Justin Speier Jason Frasar Scott Schoenweis Pete Walker Shaun Marcum Solid rotation, strong at the top. Potentially great bullpen. Decent, but far from great lineup. With the Yanks age and rotation problems, and the Sox losing Damon, Renteria, and possibly Manny....can Toronto compete?
  17. That entire thread is great. What sad sacks of crap they all are.
  18. Keep a set number of points and players. Maybe 250-300 points, and/or up to 5 players.
  19. how are we doing the keepers? I vote for keeping a certain number of points. I think we should do a set number of players. For example, I have McNabb and Owens, and they both only played about half the year. They were great when they were in there, but cumulative they are equal to Tom Brady. That strikes me as a bit unfair that I get to keep both those guys at the same cost as O_O would to keep Mr. Brady. Not really. You got screwed this year because of them missing time.
  20. how are we doing the keepers? I vote for keeping a certain number of points.
  21. I won by 20. Even if you were wise and started Mike Anderson AND Smith had a normal Smith game, you would have had a hard time beating me. I'd like to thank Cleveland for not showing up on Christmas Eve and allowing Pittsburgh to score 20 points for me, w/o even scoring a defensive TD.
  22. My friends and I have a name for those small SUVs. I won't say it on this board but it rhymes with "itch ruck"
  23. The only one I voted yes on was Blyleven. Me too. I skipped over that poll somehow.
  24. Oops. Make that 1 I voted yes for. Blyleven not being in is just plain wrong.
