  1. Too much chaff at Iowa. Who is Jamal Strong, anyway? Looks like Adam got bumped by another speedy, no power OF from another org. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/S/jamal-strong.shtml He was highly thought of by Seattle for a while there.
  2. Why the heck is Greenberg in AA again? WTH?
  3. I think they'll give it til all these offdays are over. Once the team starts playing every day, I don't think there will be much contract talk until the AS break. I think it will get done. Really no reason not to re-sign a 30-year old star player.
  4. yes, I am the Notic.
  5. They don't want major league talent, because they can't afford it. The only reason for them to trade Cabrera is that he is gonna get real expensive real soon. The best possible trade for them would be to get prospects who will not be real expensive as soon. I am holding out hope that the recent Cubs and Marlins dealings (Clement, Lee, Pierre, Wellemeyer deals) make Florida more willing to deal with the Cubs than other teams.
  6. Narron has said he likes Freel as the utility player. The wind blowing out to LCF favors the Cubs. That's Lee and Ramirez's power alley and the opposite for Griffey and Dunn, although it doesn't matter if Dunn gets a hold of one.
  7. Very true, but this isnt the first time we've heard that rumor. It seems like there may be something to it. I dont know if I understand it fully, as I havent taken the time to do more then skim a couple articles about it. But as I understand it, it has something to do with If they cannot get a new stadium deal to bring in new revenue, they may need to trade Willis/Cabrera to clear up some cash. From today's Newsday Article Pie, Marshall, Murton, and Gallagher can all go for Cabrera.
  8. NL East- Atlanta (this is as easy as a Duke to Sweet 16 pick) NL Central- Cubs (best record in NL) NL West- LAD (what a bad division) NL Wildcard- St. Louis AL East- NY Yankees AL Central- White Sox AL West- Oakland AL Wildcard- Boston NLCS- Cubs over St. Louis in 6 games. ALCS- NY Yankees over White Sox in 7 games. World Series- NY Yanks over Cubs in 6 games. NL MVP- Pujols AL MVP- Vlad NL Cy- Peavy AL Cy- Buehrle NL ROY- Hermida AL ROY- Liriano
  9. Mabry does not have very much power. And this is not the best Cubs team in years. The 2003 team had much more talent, especially when they added Aramis mid-season. The team that went into 04, with Sosa, Alou, Aram, Lee, Walker, Barrett, Patterson (off a good 1/2 season), and got even more talented adding Nomar. That being said, I think this is the weakest the NL Central has been in a while, and the weakest the NL as a whole has been.
  10. How do we know this DJaxx character has any credibility?

I don't like how I only got mentioned for my OF. I have the single best SP in the league. Lowe had a big spring and should be able to take advantage of Dodgers Stadium this year. Garland had a big year last year. Lowry is expected to have a good year this year. Not really an injury risk among them either unlike most other teams. My IF is weak on the surface, but could surprise. Berkman, if healthy, is a top 10 player in fantasy baseball. Beltre won't hit .330/50/140 again, but won't hit .240/20/80 again either. He was a star in the WBC. Greene is in his 3rd year and can explode if he stays off the DL. Kinsler is in a great lineup in the best hitter's park in the ML. And you can't forget Mora who is at worst the 3rd- or 4th best starting U in the league.
  12. Rowand is their CF. Victorino probably goes back to the minors or is wasted as the 5th OF.
  13. Maybe it opens the door for an Abreu trade?
  14. Crap. After you went 0 for 4 in the Elite 8, I don't want you on our bandwagon. Hey, at least I had a shot that late with the way this tourney went. Never thought my entire Final 4 would lose in the last step to getting there.
  15. They should be able to overtake the Yanks and Sox with that type of team chemistry.
  16. I'm sorry, I have to object to a lot of this post. 1. If the team REALLY needs a run, I don't want someone bunting. 2. I'd rather have guys who's performance can be statistically measured over clubhouse presences. 3. Patterson could score from first, and that didn't work out. Heck, with the way Lee and Ramirez hit (doubles tend to be more gappers than down the RF or LF lines) Walker can score from 1st.
  17. Because it looks assinine. What are they thinking when they do it? "Dude, wearing a hat straight just isn't offbeat and hip enough. If I tilt it to the side a little bit, it gives me that hard aura that I'm looking for. Like I'm trying to hard to look like I'm not trying hard." I can't stand these little punk 17 year olds that wear their Tarheels caps sideways. Pretentious twits. First, watch the language. Second, again, it doesn't affect you in anyway. Why do you care what someone thinks of themselves?
  18. That dude is just covered in spunk. LMAO! That's funny as heck.
  19. I don't think people that would trade him for another prospect are calling him a has-been, never-will-be. Just want to trade him for a projected better player.
  20. Thank you for reminding me how much I hate the D-Backs and their farm system. If I remember right, Chris Young came over to the Dbacks from the White Sox in the Vasquez trade? Do I have that right? That is right.
  21. And if you are gonna have a firesale, please trade Chris Shelton to me.
  22. Don't know. It should be pointed out that I'm annoyed by hot chicks that wear clothes too. Well, isn't everybody?
  23. Why do you guys have a problem with the way someone else wears their hat?
  24. I wouldn't give Wuertz for a guy that can't make the team in Cleveland. I'd possibly give them Novoa at best, but I would probably hold onto him for bullpen depth. And they have Cabrera and Betancourt to push Mota's role back a little bit.
