  1. that was a dial-up response. Heck yeah, it was. Stupid middle of nowhere non-high speed offering part of the world. Bloomington? Yeah, that qualifies too.

  3. They're not premature, because most people were saying that 4 months ago when he was signed. He has been bad for the last couple years. Odds are he will be bad for the next few. And Jones 3 year splits in April.... .335 .396 .518 .914 Less then 4 games isn't premature for someone new to the NL? Wow, talk about high expectations. BTW TT I don't trust you... :D It's not premature, because I don't need 500 ABs to prove to me that Jones sucks, I got 6 others to show that he does indeed suck and was a wasted signing. I have never once implied that he should be booed, nor that he won't greatly improve. In fact, I have been one of the main people pointing out that Jones may show an increase in numbers leaving the Metrodome (where he has never hit all that great) and with his vastly increased walk rate from his career numbers to 05.

  5. errors by Cedeno and LEE = 2 runs for the Cards. Let's cut the Bums. Both of em. (Convenient to only single out Ronny). Lee's error put the runner in scoring position. Cedeno's error wouldn't have led to a run, and possibly wouldn't have led to Zambrano losing it. winners don't make excuses. What the hell kind of comment is that? Are you calling me a loser? It's a good thing most professional baseball players don't have your attitude. WTF is my attitude? My attitude has been to give blame where it is due, to both player. Your attitude is to excuse the veteran because he's shown he's a good defensive player.

  8. error by Lee = only reason Cedeno made an error in the inning.
  9. Inning should be long over. I can see how that would take a lot out of a pitcher.
  10. Nice way to atone for his mistake. :D how many errors is he going to have at the end of the season (assuming full time duty)? I'd guess 35. I'd be more, but the Wrigley scorer is generous (should have had 1 or 2 yesterday). Why are you so critical of Cedeno? And where is this one or two errors he should have had yesterday? You are referring to his double clutches...your logic doesn't make sense. Wrigley grass slows down the ball, so if it was outside of Wrigley, the ball would have come to him faster and he would have had MORE time to throw, not less. Ronnie is going to be a very good defensive shortstop. He already has one of the best ranges of EVERY shortstop in the majors. He also has a cannon for an arm. he's a rookie...allow his tools to develop. I would say he'll have much less than 35 errors this year. Did you even watch the game? Cedeno did great at the plate and piss poor in the field. That's fine, but his label for a long time was a "glove only man." I expect more from our "slick fielding shortstop." OMG, "one of the best ranges of EVERY shortstop in the majors?" Get real. I agree with him. Cedeno is up there in range, simply by the fact he has long legs and is one of the youngest SS in the league. I'd say only Furcal is clearly above Cedeno in terms of pure range.

I'd be more, but the Wrigley scorer is generous (should have had 1 or 2 yesterday). 35 is a bit much. I'd guess he'll get better as the season goes on. He'll have 20 easily though, if he starts 140+ games. I don't know. He's bobbled or double clutched just about every play. He's got to get used to charging the ball with Wrigley's long grass. And he will. He's still a pretty raw fielder. I'd guess about 24-27 errors this year. He's still gonna be a great defender.
  12. Everybody watching the Zambrano show that inning. First 11 pitches, 0 swings.

  14. How long until Jones moves down in the order? Also, is it me or has Murton been pulling everything so far this season?
  15. Shake it off Ronny, get it back with the bat. Only 1 pitch after the inning should have been over. Good job Zambrano.
  16. Doing a good job of working the count, other than a few lapses. I think they're gonna wear Carp down.
  17. Good job to get Lee up this inning.
  18. GAME! Dempster K's Edmonds to wave the first of many white flags this year.
  19. Zambrano. And Howry rocks. Please keep pitching like that. The Cubs bullpen struck out a ton last year. Ohman, Wuertz, and Dempster were all well over a K per inning. Hawkins, Zambrano, Novoa, and Remlinger were well above average also.
  20. ah, still is. Zambrano's gonna throw at you tomorrow Jimmy.
  21. Pujols popped up! hahaha. This is the best game ever!
  22. He's comparing him to every person that has ever played baseball at any level.
