  1. Bowles and Quinn are the two guys I'm most interested in. I too worry about how good Gase really is with Peyton around. "NFL people" love Gase. Gets the whole "brilliant NFL mind" label. But I agree with you. Though I prefer Bowles over Quinn by a decent margin.
  2. If you are DeCosta and are willing to leave Baltimore, do you go to NY or Chicago? I'd think I'd take NY. Even all the financial and location stuff aside, I think the Jets actually have more to work with from a young talent stand point and cap room (and no $18M QB decision).
  3. According to the internet Newsome was born in bloody England, which is even further away from the NFL than Canada. Screw that. I get that this is a joke, but you do know he played 10 years in the NFL, right?
  4. I like Ray a lot. He's a mean bastard with speed. He would be a freaking beast in a 3-4 set-up. How does he compare to his distracting former teammate? Slightly less gay.
  5. I like Ray a lot. He's a mean bastard with speed. He would be a freaking beast in a 3-4 set-up. Reminds me of Shawne Merriman. I don't know if it's the similar complexion and first name though. I still think I'd have him as my 4th best edge rusher in this class. I think like Gregory (mainly for being 6'6"), Beasley and Dante Fowler Jr better, probably in reverse order. I want nothing to do with Collins at 7. He was intriguing at 11-13 where I figured the Bears would be picking. But I'm a big proponent of ONLY picking QB, OL, pass rusher, and then only the most elite WRs or CBs in the top 10.
  6. Lake Dawson would be interesting. I remember him playing at ND in the 90s, so he's pretty young (looked up he's 42). 3rd round pick of the Chiefs at WR. I've heard a lot of good things about him as a front office/player personnel person, but don't know if a GM job would be over his head. Also of note is 3 of those 4 are black guys. Interesting.
  7. I saw this game at 3-0 and 3-1 late in the 2nd and I assumed loss and turned it off. Woke up to a photo on their Facebook page that says, "BLACKHAWKS WIN" across the marquee in the stadium. I'll be damned.
  8. Wasn't his hand size and concern about fumbling a factor as well? The old Dave Krieg syndrome. Yeah that's true. Kurt Warner had small hands too. He and Krieg were good QBs despite that. I didn't really buy that excuse either.
  9. Coughlin won't get fired. He'll have to retire. Jacksonville shouldn't fire Bradley whatsoever, give him a few years to build that team. Washington has said Gruden will be back (RGIII also). Buffalo was the "first team out". I think if they can get a QB, they'll be in contention. Of course, they traded their #1 for Watkins so.....
  10. FWIW, Bridgewater was my #1 ranked QB last year and my #3 overall prospect. His draft stock went down because he didn't look great at his pro day and he had "skinny knees". Both were BS excuses that should get GMs fired.
  11. Brandon Meriweather deserves to be in this conversation (though not a Lion).
  12. Come on; because he gives what's probably in his head his best version of a diplomatic answer makes him nuts? Maybe he really got along with the guy. Exactly.
  13. If you want to close your eyes and cover your ears and pretend everything else Marshall was involved with this past year wasn't a total disaster then yes, yelling at a radio guy is a dumb reason to cut him. But that's a dumb way to summarize the marshall situation. Oh, please. It was nowhere near a "total disaster," both given his own issues in the past and the larger embarrassment of the Bears organization. You just tell him he doesn't get to go on the radio next year. He had an unnecessary press conference full of crazy about his past domestic abuse. Said crazy things on "Inside the NFL". Has challenged a fan to a fight. Bad mouthed Cutler in public around the same time Kromer did. Appears to be heartbroken over an obviously terrible coach that he could not have possibly had this great connection with. It may not be a "total disaster", but it's getting closer and closer to that every time he opens his mouth. In the scope of the NFL and his own past that's all a blip on the radar (plus I love how you're trying to spin him being sad to see his coach go as making him to be crazy). The guy has major issues, but THIS is the stuff we're worried about? Yeesh. Him being sad isn't a big deal. Him being surprised about it and acting like it's the best coach he's ever had is a little nuts.

  15. Well duh, they were terrible as opposed to winning 10 in Lovie's last year.
  16. Yeah I would definitely say DeCamillis is the worst, even with the performance from the defense. Literally every special teams play was somehow screwed up. It was like the only thing he taught was that once the kicking team touches a punt, you can grab it and try to advance without the risk of fumbling it. As far as any other rules, who cares. When we were looking for our head coach two years ago, I remember reading an article that said Joe D was a candidate for the head job. I searched him and found tons of cowboys fans absolutely hated him. I thought, "that's weird, how can people have such strong negative feelings for a special teams coach. I mean I knew the bears had had a good one, but how can someone be that bad at it." Man they were right. They were the best kickoff coverage unit for a while based on per return average.
  17. Yup. In an "at least it's not likely he'll be a complete disaster with a competent GM" kinda way.
  18. Please no My biggest issue with Shanahan (other than he sucked since Elway retired) is that this is a move that caters to Jay. Honestly, there should be no more moves made to make things ideal for Cutler. He's not the future anymore. Best case, he's a good placeholder for 2 years. The new coach should outlast Cutler. Now, whether or not the Bears did enough to cater to Jay is a different story. What about Shanahan as president hiring Kubiak as his head coach? That might be OK, because I think Kubiak can actually coach. Shanny has done nothing without Elway.
  19. Lol they just said on the score that Ballard worked with the Bears for 12 years with Angelo and spent time under Emery in KC. no thanks. He's pretty well regarded though, FWIW.

  21. IT'S A CELEBRATION BITCHES!
  22. My friend is saying PFT is saying Trestman may be safe though. Linked me an article that I can't read.
  23. Buffalo (pick to Cleveland) is 19th. SD/KC is 17/18, depending on who wins tonight. Cincy wins and KC is 17. Opposite if Pittsburgh wins.
