  1. I know how this one ends. Hopefully, DaVante Adams continues being terrible at everything related to football and fucks this up for them.
  2. It always is when defense guesses run.
  3. That's going to suck if Rodgers is back on the field.
  4. Except he didn't play the first one.
  5. What a terribly officiated game (things I've said every game). Moved the ball about 50 yards that drive, and only got like 8 out of it.
  6. Previous kickoff return set that up.
  7. Terrible play call thanks Packers.
  8. gross that money would be better allocated at almost literally any other position. they can find a way to spend it. Assume you are referring to franchising Forte? I don't love it either. But the cap is at 143M this year. Probably closer to 150M next year. The Bears have less than 91 committed for next year, and can save another 11Mil by cutting guys like Bushrod, Houston and Rolle. And the offseason approach is probably going to be similar to last year of not going after the cream of the crop big money guys, and getting guys who fit roles while they continue to build thru the draft. They have to be looking at at least another McPhee contract on defense as well as on offensive lineman. 2 McPhee contracts is still only spending 16Mil of that 60 toward the cap.

  10. IU loses in Maui. Blackmon and Ferrell shoot bad, Hoosiers lose.
  11. Yeah, he's not getting Dez Bryant, Julio Jones or Demaryius Thomas money. But slightly below that 14M AAV is TY Hilton at 13M AAV. Hilton got 5 years/65Mil. I think you may be able to get away with guaranteeing him about or around 20Mil. But basically guarantee his first year and part of his 2nd, and make it essentially a year to year deal after that. Oh and the Bears will have the money to franchise half the roster, if they wanted. Probably going to have about 60Mil in cap room this offseason. I'd probably try to sign Jeffery and franchise Forte. There is a cap floor, and I don't think the Bears are going to go crazy signing a bunch of people. So, I'd overpay Forte for a year, cut his usage down to 50-60%, before letting him walk.
  12. Clemson v. Notre Dame rematch and Alabama v. Iowa. Worst playoff ever.
  13. Falcons yeah. Those other teams don't matter. The NFC East teams will beat up on each other. The Rams lost to the Bears. The biggest issues are the Packers, Vikings, and Seahawks. All teams the Bears have played and lost to. If GB holds on (they will), the Bears would still be 1 game out of the 2nd wildcard if they had won. And they'd be tied with the Seahawks who demolished them. It was a longshot either way.
  14. This seems like an ugly game waiting to happen. First time the Bears are favored, and I don't like their chances. I don't like anyone's chances of getting open consistently at WR against Talib, Harris, and Roby. I think the gameplan this week is going to be the same as last week. Going to have to beat them with Bennett, Miller, and throws to the RBs. The thing that worries me is that gameplan is on the most recent tape for the Broncos D to study. Also, faced the same type of gameplan last week with the Chiefs, even giving up an 80 yard receiving TD to a RB themselves. This has the makings of a 13-9 or 17-13 type of game.
  15. No Peyton, Ware, or Sanders vs. no Jeffery, Rolle, and Forte. I think the Bears moves are a case of saving the big guns for Green Bay on Thursday.
  16. True, but Cueto is also kind of the anti-Jaxon. He annually out-ERA's his FIP and xFIP. He also managed to pitch 210+IP in 3 of the last 4 years. This is the big thing for me with any pitcher we get. No more of this 5, maybe 6 inning stuff. I get why it worked that way last year, but I don't like it. If the Cubs go out and get a pitcher, it won't be a guy that only goes 5, maybe 6 innings. Guys like that don't get paid much or have much of a trade market. People aren't knocking down the door to get Jason Hammel.
  17. Gentry was DFA'd, I think he could probably be had on a minor league contract, with roster invite at this point.
  18. I irrationally cannot separate Johnny Cueto from Edinson Volquez. So, I keep expecting Cueto to completely suck any season now.
  19. Black almost certainly gets nabbed, I'd imagine.
  20. Krol was once a pretty decent prospect, top 100 in 2011. But this is two non-top 30 prospects from a bad farm system.
  21. All 3 relievers added are hard throwers that strike out a ton of people. To go along with Rondon, Strop, and Grimm. I'd say Theo has a "type". Hopefully, one of these guys work out better than last year's hard-throwing relief lottery tickets, Gonzalez German and Yoervis Medina.
  22. Good start to the season. But wears down late in games. Not much of a factor recently.
  23. When Manning was struggling earlier and the talking heads were discussing, they kept saying Osweiler is better than your average backup QB and is being groomed as Manning's heir apparent, but I didn't see anything on Sunday that impressed me all that much. Osweiler is a free agent. If he does well, they probably won't be able to keep him because they have several free agents including, Von Miller. If he does poorly, they won't want him back. He's actually a guy I want the Bears to take a look at for backup this offseason. Only 24 years old. Same guys that worked with him for 3 years.
