  1. Re-sign Jennings, Okoye, and Forte. Sign Avril, Meachem, Tyvon Branch Draft Floyd, CB, Orson Charles, Matt McCants in 1st 3 rounds. DE or OLB in the 4th.
  2. All 5 without Rose, Deng or both. With Rose and Deng they are 6-1 against +500 teams. (@Lakers, @Clippers, Grizzlies, Hawks, @Celtics, @Orlando. Loss @Atlanta) Yeah, they said during the game last night that the Bulls started 5-1 vs. teams currently in the playoffs. But were 1-5 in the last 6 against those teams. And that the Bulls needed to show they could beat the good teams or something to that effect. Being a person who talks back to the TV, I said "how many of those were without Deng and/or Rose?" You'd think people who get paid to do a job would be more informed on what they are talking about.
  3. Yeah, Lucas kinda sucks. I'd much rather see James out there if necessary. Much more confident in him to not take a ridiculous shot and to not make a horrible pass (or willingness to make a pass at all for that matter).
  4. I'm not a huge fan of Jon Martin. He's extremely finesse. More of a zone blocking scheme run blocker. Can be bullrushed as a pass blocker. He does have the upside to be able to handle elite speed rushers, but just not a huge fan of his style of play. I'd take Mike Adams over him easily. Less athletic ability, but more size, strength, and toughness. As for Jeffery, that's a tough sell for me. At the 50th pick, he's definitely worth a long look, but I wouldn't trade up for him. He just scares me a ton. The fact that rumors about his weight and speed came out and they were very believable doesn't help his cause. And that's what scares me about him. There's not a lot of positive history with guys his size unless they have elite speed. If not, you're talking about upside of Brandon Marshall (who is probably a little leaner and faster than Jeffery) or downside of Detroit's Mike Williams (out of the league after 3 years before making a mediocre comeback in Seattle). If the Bears go VJack in free agency, I'd probably wait til the 3rd to draft a WR and look at guys like Chris Givens, Joe Adams or Marvin Jones. All 3 guys could give you a solid #2 or 3 and contribute right away. Tommy Streeter and DeVier Posey would be interesting options as developmental WRs. Zeitler, I do really like. And I'm sure Tice likes him. But I think he goes before the 3rd for one. Secondly, I don't know if the Bears would take a G that early. They have 5 players on the roster that can play guard already (Garza, C Williams, Spencer, E Williams, Louis). Maybe you cut Spencer and draft Zeitler, but I don't know how likely that is.
  5. Be a waste of time. He's getting franchised if Houston can't work out a deal with him. I think the Bears will look at DE. Cliff Avril would be ideal. But watch out for them to make a run at Robert Mathis on a short term deal.
  6. They are actually probably clearing up cap space to re-sign Jared Gaither though, taking him off the market. I'd take McNeill though. He's injury prone, but can play....same as Gaither, but will cost less. Jason Smith for St Louis is going to get cut this offseason too. Team that signs him would be hoping to catch lightning in a bottle like Okoye, Gholston, and Gaines Adams, but he's a former #2 overall pick.
  7. I hope Cody Zeller gets hit by a bus ETA: Not killing him, I'd never wish death on him, just paralyzed, not death. Not in the face either, it would ruin that bus. That's funny. This whole thing is funny. I don't have anything against Illinois. I hate Purdue, Wisconsin, and Iowa much more than I hate U of I. Hell, it was the best college campus I ever partied at. I just think it's funny how much you guys hate IU. It's like the White Sox fans, who didn't care that they didn't win anything for 70 years because the Cubs were so bad for most of that time.
  8. This thread has been a lot more fun the last 2 weeks!
  9. If the Bears give up a 1st for Wallace, they'd also have to pay Wallace as much if not more than any of those 3 FAs. Meaning, they wouldn't be getting 1 of them AND Wallace AND re-signing Forte. Be a lot easier/cheaper to pay that money to another player AND keep your 1st round pick to use on a WR (Floyd, Wright). But this is definitely an intriguing scenario. The Bears were going to draft Wallace, but wound up trading down and passing him up for the great, Jarron Gilbert. So, the Bears definitely like him. Wallace would allow the Bears to fill another position in the 2nd and then possibly go after a WR in the 3rd. Wallace, Joe Adams, Hester, and Knox if he ever plays for the Bears again would be the fastest WR group in the history of the world.
  10. My thoughts exactly.
  11. I think the Bears have to develop a WR at some point. Can't just throw money at one and expect all the problems to be solved. It's been a long time since David Terrell. It's been even longer since the Bears had a good QB to pair up with a developing WR. For all the talk about this team's window, the only players that are old are the stars on defense. A good young WR could make this offense good for as long as Cutler is around. I'd still be willing to take a shot with Moss, but the Bears 100% have to draft a WR in the 1st 3 rounds (preferably 1st 2). They only have 3 WRs capable of playing football next year, and 2 of them (Hester and Sanzenbacher) should be #5s at best. Bears need to bring in at least 2 WRs better than everyone they have currently. I don't see anyway they can do that thru ONLY free agency and still be able to afford to fill the other holes on this team. Not necessarily for 2012, but in the near future.
  12. Wasn't completely one sided. Plus it was Adams' 2nd game back from suspension. He got better as the year went on...for the most part.
  13. Not a bad scenario. Would definitely mean WR in the 2nd or a helluva FA signed before the draft.
  14. I did a mock offseason and mine is better than that.
  15. You're going to see a lot of cuts by the Steelers. Plus, that number is from before they cut 4.5 Mil in salary (McFadden and somone else), restructured Woodley and Big Ben. They also will probably restructed Casey Hampton and cut several veterans including Kemo, Hines Ward, Aaron Smith, and guys like James Harrison, Mendenhall, and Willie Colon better watch their backs. They aren't losing Wallace for any of those guys. As for the Bears, I think the cap number actually includes the current FAs. From my understanding, that 21 under the cap is based on 2011 salaries. Meaning, all 14 of the Bears FAs ARE still accounted for and also doesn't take into consideration that Julius Peppers was paid the last of his bonus money, so his salary/cap number will go down from 13Mil to 8.9Mil next year. It also means that number doesn't take into account any raises that players may get, so some teams may not be as well off as those numbers indicate. When all is said and done, the Bears may have closer to 40-45Mil. Because the Bears only have 39 players under contract for next year. The Bears will have plenty of money to franchise Forte and still probably sign 2 big name FAs if they want (they won't).
  16. I'm in and my roster's done. It is still Valentine's Day isn't it? As far as my lack of participation, I don't believe I have hurt the league at all. I pay attention to my team. I made several trades in season and this offseason. Not sure what else I can do, other than post in this forum and get involved in the silly arguments that constantly go on.

  18. Yeah, really feel bad for Tommie and the family. 4 month old kid going to grow up without a mother. Very sad story, lost in the Whitney Houston death story.
  19. When the first details came out about the injury, I figured best case scenario would be Knox would start the season on the PUP and could hopefully help out the last 8 weeks of the season. Bears really need to get 3 WRs for next year, 2 of them need to be really good.
  20. Not trying to make this about IU, but I was just thinking the other night how IU went 2-0 without Elston, 4-1 without Sheehey, and are now 2-0 without Jones. Those wins included over UK (no Elston), over Ohio St and Michigan (no Sheehey), and the last 2 over Purdue (road) and Illinois with out Jones. Of course, they lost 5 of 7 with all of them healthy during conference season.
  21. I don't care what those numbers say, nobody gets the home court advantage that Wisconsin does. There's no way a team that only allows 55 points per game never fouls like them in Madison.
  22. We have all pointed out the facts before. IU was clearly the more aggressive team. Layup attempts clearly don't tell the story, especially when most of the FTs were due to players driving to the hoop. The daggers in the game were Hulls getting to the baseline, finding Zeller for a dunk and 1. And then him getting in the lane and hitting Watford for the 3. IU made a legit effort to get to the rim on almost every drive in the 2nd half. That should be pretty clear from anyone watching the game. It also should be common sense that that's how most basketball games are officiated. The aggressive team gets the calls. If you guys want to complain about the ticky-tack calls that got IU in the bonus in the 2nd, I also think IU was called for several of those in the 2nd half, albeit later in the half.
  23. He's already said it would be a year.
  24. Dropped passes mean nothing when you consistently catch 75-100 passes. What's the most they'll drop 9-10? Not a significant number when you are talking about a guy with 140+ targets. One of the most overrated stats in football. Every single player drops passes. And there aren't any offensive players in the NFL that drops anywhere near the number of passes to cancel out his production. Sorry for the mini-rant. You do realize that was based on drop % right? That factors in targets & drops. What was based on drop %? The things in the spoiler tag? I'm getting a red X on those. Still, the point remains. I wouldn't turn any of those WRs down because of drops.
