  1. Those top ten are the best group in the minors. Add 2 names to the 8 that missed, and u probably have a middle of the pack system. Say you split them into two roughly equal groups: Bryant, Baez, Soler, Tseng, Almora, Vizcaino, Edwards, Rivero, Vogelbach, Bruno and Russell, Alcantara, Schwarber, Torres, McKinney, Johnson, Hendricks, Stinnett, Jimenez, Underwood How high would those 2 systems rank? I think the 1st group is much better, but I think both could be in the 5-12 range.
  2. Baez at 2nd. Bryant at 3B. That's a potential 125 HR infield. I bet our SS and 1B will hit a few too ????? He's suggesting that Baez and Bryant can crack 125 between the two of them. Yeah, I get that. Didn't know if he was insinuating that I was doing the same or making a (bad) joke.

  5. He's at the back end of my top 30. Mine too. Hes still only 21. Didn't he used to switch hit? Hes listed as only LH this year.
  6. They went with a 24-man roster yesterday. Parker just got called up this morning to fill in the other spot. Thanks. Any chance they pull Hendicks early today and have him go Thursday? (Sunday-Wednesday: Arrieta, Jackson, Wada, Wood) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Not on the 40-man. Though there is a spot open.
  7. Yeah, still a shot to carve out a Ronny Cedeno type career. Can really play short.
  8. Yankees have traded for Brandon McCarthy.
  9. McKinney in RF batting leadoff. McKinney Almora Vogelbach top 3...... who cares about 4-9 (though Marco Hernandez has hit well without walking is batting 9th).
  10. Nobody is saying they are completely ok with everything. But they know the plan. They are a part of it. They knew Samardzija didn't want to be a part of the plan. They probably knew he was going to get traded. They have every right to be pissed he did get traded, but they are stupid if they think they had a shot this year. They aren't good enough right now with Shark and Hammel. This move gives them a chance to be good soon. And when Castro and Rizzo signed contracts thru 2019, they knew they would suffer a few years.
  11. The best 3 players on the team were recently highly regarded minor leaguers. They know they have a bunch of highly regarded minor leaguers close to the majors. They also knew Shark wanted out. Castro, Rizzo and Arrieta shouldn't be too upset. The rest of the team may be because they are either veterans who may not be around or guys who stand to lose their jobs when the kids come up. Wood may have the only gripe.

  13. C'mon Joe. Castro and Rizzo are top 3 at their position in the NL/majors. Arrieta has been the best pitcher on Earth thr last 5 weeks. Not to mention its hard top build around a guy who doesn't want to be built around and guy on a 1-year deal.
  14. Baez struck out looking for a 2nd time. Bryant struck out on 3 pitches, last of which in the dirt.
  15. Kyle Schwarber failed to reach base for, I believe, the first time in his career. Schwarber was just the 4th pick, is Ops' ing like 1.2, and is like the 8th ranked prospect for the Cubs.
  16. 18-43 last 10. 24-65 since FSL break with a near respectable 4 walks.
  17. His OBP is like .274 though.
  18. Anybody seen a Smokies lineup?
  19. If I'm the GM, I am keeping all the major prospects for now. I'd try to make a trade for a vet OF bat without using my major guys or just sign someone. Doesn't have to be a Stanton type imo. But I'd be very interested in Kemp, who shouldn't cost a ton. Id pay a little more for Cargo. Or Id sign a guy like Cruz or Rasmus for 2 years to stabilize the balance of young bats. As for pitching, you gotta get Maeda. The current team would be awesome with Tanaka. Can't miss out on the next one. Id also go after a reclamation guy along the Hammel lines. Morrow, Brett Anderson, Josh Johnson. C- Castillo 1b- Rizzo 2b- Baez after mid May Ss- Castro 3b- Valbuena LF- Bryant after mid May Cf- Alcantara RF- Cruz Sp- Maeda, Arrieta, Wood, Jackson, Morrow is a better team than the one that's been playing well the last 6 weeks.
  20. Fwiw, I picked Straily as a guy I thought would have a huge breakout season this year. Drafted him late in a fantasy league.
  21. At the risk of repeating myself... Kris Bryant - pure stud Javier Baez - love the progress lately. still the highest upside Addison Russell - doesn't have the power of the top two Arismendy Alcantara - can't believe I'm ranking a 22 yr old ss/cf with an .898 and 20 SB/3 CS this low Jorge Soler - love the guy. get healthy hamstrings Kyle Schwarber - dude just rakes Billy McKinney - I can't see anything Almora does better Albert Almora - He has to find additional ways to provide value to rank higher Gleyber Torres - he'd be top 3-4 in most systems already Eloy Jimenez - he'd be top 3-4 in most systems already Given the rainy season is upon us, let's just send Russell, McKinney, Almora and Vogelbach to Tenn. Imagine the fun for the next few months following them and Iowa. Soler too at AA.
  22. don't forget about rusin and jokisch, the crafty leftys Ah. Rusin probably gets a shot.
  23. Baez could legit be 3rd in someone's system. He hit 37 HRs as a 20 year old last year in the 2 mist pitcher friendly leagues in the minors.
