  1. Too horsefeathering late. There's so many awful, sexist, misogynistic reasons that they should have distanced themselves from Barstool before this...but now they'll distance themselves because Portnoy screwed up their ESPN deal? horsefeathers them. What exactly did you want them to do? Barstool owns the rights to PMT. I think you could say that PFT should have never joined Barstool given their history - that's fair. I think they did distance themselves from Barstool as much as was practical given that it was a Barstool owned property. The show is literally a satire of the bro-dude sports culture. I honestly don't really even fault ESPN here, but I do feel bad for Big Cat and PFT.
  2. Big Cat tweeted at Mooch today and he’s coming on the podcast to discuss getting fired in 11 days. PFT and Big Cat should leave Barstool. They don’t belong there anymore. I was never really exposed to any of the Barstool horsefeathers before I started listening to PMT. I just saw PFT Commenter was doing a podcast and was curious. They are really almost a parody of the dopey Barstool shtick. All the other Barstool people seem terrible and not funny. If I was PFT, I’d stuff Portnoy into a pillow case and throw him in the East river.
  3. You'd probably have to make Fangio the head coach right? Wasn't that why he left SF after Harbaugh left? I think I read somewhere that he doesn't really have any interest in being a HC.
  4. I waffle on the WR quality and its impact. Clearly it will have some impact, but how much? The Bears cut Thompson last week and he was the leading receiver for the Bills this week with 100+ yards receiving. I didn't watch the game so maybe he got lucky but I'd like to think if he can get open in Buffalo, he probably could get open in Chicago too. I think the Bears just turtled soon as they got the lead. Mitch was told not to turn over the ball so he was extremely conservative. They pass only when they have to - making it totally obvious to the opposing team. Also the tackles didn't hold up well yesterday from what I saw. What I'm saying is that it's a rich tapestry of suck and I don't think bringing in a guy like Bryant is really going to do anything in the short term.
  5. I am not a fan of Fox, but you have to give the defensive coaching staff credit for the development of some of these guys like Amos, Fuller, Jones, etc. Can we fire Fox and keep Fangio? I know it can be hard to find a coach willing to have part of his staff dictated to him when he takes over, yet maybe Fangio is respected enough where that wouldn't matter?
  6. he's made his jared fogle like transition very well known But yeah, I've lost about 155 pounds over the last 18 months. Just need to ride this out until Xmas and I should be at 175 (so I'll have essentially lost an entire me, which seems bonkers) and I can start finally eating some real food again. Holy horsefeathers, man, that is incredible. Congrats.
  7. Breakdown on Trubisky from the Athletic (unlocked)
  8. Agree. I think the change is going to be made this week. I am also kind of shocked that Glennon is so bad. I didn't expect him to be good, but this is "guy we picked up off the street 3 days ago" level of quarterbacking.
  9. I wish I could get there, but I think Glennon is going to be starting longer than we all think. I don't get the sense they've really waivered.
  10. Cohen run at the end of the game was electric. I've probably watched the reply like 50 times.
  11. I think we just got Garapped, boys.
  12. Why is it assumed that developing on the bench is superior to just playing? I feel like every discussion on this topic just assumes this to be true and goes from there.
  13. I'm not surprised they may have a quick hook on Glennon. If they can play solid D and run the ball, that is something in the NFL. It was painfully obvious that the weak link last week was Glennon. 22 net yards passing through 3 quarters and plays left all over the field (as raw pointed out). I don't think they are going to watch a lot of other games like last Sunday and continue to throw Glennon out there for some uncertain development benefit that Trubisky gets from sitting on the bench and watch Glennon check down on every pass.
  14. This week I learned that passing for 22 net yards through the first 3 quarters of a game is "fine" and "doesn't lose you the game." Only caveat to this being that you also have to lead a failed 4th quarter comeback. Hopefully we see another "fine" performance from Glennon so the Bears can keep racking up moral victories!
  15. I realized one of my son's books is about Mike Glennon.
  16. I was stunned how much of the offense they ran through Cohen. People suspected they were trying to "hide" him when he didn't play much in the 3rd preseason game but I wasn't really buying it. I didn't think Fox would be a guy who would make a rookie 4th rounder a critical piece from the first game - figured he would make him "earn it."
  17. Almost all draft related rage is people reacting negatively to deviations from the "established" predicted draft order. I personally love all of the post draft hot takes because literally no one has any idea of how the players in the draft will turn out. Independent of how Trubisky turns out, the trade up seems kind of stupid to me. But marginally stupid as they didn't trade mortgage the future for it. The gave up a 3rd (2017), a 4th (2017), and a 3rd (2018). In the second round, they dropped 9 spots and picked up a 4th (2017), a 6th (2017), and a 4th (2018). While these two moves should probably be evaluated independently, it seems to me the dropped when they felt like they could still get their guy and jumped up when they weren't sure if they could get their guy. It's not completely a wash, but it softens the blow for sure. "The Bears have potentially drafted something they never had before - a franchise quarterback!" "Yeah, but couldn't they have drafted him more economically?"
  18. Yes. so when i think of rosemont it's more like big brand new mediocre chain restaurants and retail and stuff, not really mcdonalds and taco bell, which are pretty much anywhere I concede that my joke would have been more effective if they were bulldozing a Cheesecake factory rather than a Taco Bell.
  19. This is baffling to me as well. Doesn't getting rid of horsefeathers fast food restaurants make it less like Rosemont? Have you been to Rosemont lately (or at least driven by it on 294)? Yes.
  20. This is baffling to me as well. Doesn't getting rid of shitty fast food restaurants make it less like Rosemont?
  21. Well, that was unexpected. I generally think trade ups are stupid and overly expensive in terms of picks you have to give up. But I'm not about to pretend like I have any idea how Trubisky will turn out.
  22. I'm here for the Cutler n00ds
