  1. What the hell is the point of that? Are they going to try to frame it as a look into the abuse kickers get when they miss a big kick or something? I mean, I can't really imagine that he's there just to talk about the actual kick. I'm assuming it's going to be about some of the abuse he's received.
  2. Cody Parkey doing an interview on the Today Show tomorrow.
  3. I wouldn't be so sure about that You're probably right but this is what I want to believe.
  4. If Parkey makes the kick, Denver probably hires the other guy. Fricken Parkey.
  5. Mizzell got 1 carry. That's not really searching for answers. Good point. I just remembered that carry on the first series and thinking "what is going on here?"
  6. he ended lower in yards (935 - almost 1000 surprisingly) and ypc (3.7) then his past three years, but as the season went on his ypc started to get better. That could be Nagy learning his players better and utilizing him more effectively later in the season. I doubt he's going anywhere, I bet they give it another year. I could see them giving it another whirl. He's cheap and they aren't likely to get much for him. On the other hand, they are giving Mizzell carries on the first drive of a playoff game. They were looking for answers.
  7. I really think they need a RB. Howard either isn't a fit or isn't the same player as previous seasons and there is no way that Cohen can come close to carrying the load.
  8. It's a pretty limited tool, but Spotracs market value has him at 3/20 value. He could easily push 10 though if a team gets hot on him. He hasn't been a model of health, so 3/20 may be a decent range to stay at with him. I'd guess Massie (OT market usually sucks) and Amos will push that 7-10M number, but the S market is sometimes weird. Some type of creative backload scenario with some of these guys isn't out of the question if Pace wants to double down on the chips he's pushed in next year and deal with the fallout later. I recall NO frequently doing this in the past. Callahan is a guy that I'm not sure they are going to resign. As you said, he has a long injury history and there wasn't a noticeable drop-off when he went out. I'm not really sure they resign Amos either. Massie is a guy I could see them resigning on the cheap, which is funny because he's clearly the worst player of those three.
  9. They gave up 16 horsefeathering points in a playoff game. I refuse to blame the D for this loss. I'm not blaming them entirely for the loss, but they had more than a FG lead with less than 5 minutes in the game and let the Eagles dunk it in their faces. It happened. On another crucial play where they gave up a TD, they only had 10 men on the field. Those were critical situations in the game and they came up short.
  10. You're supposed to be the best defense in the league and you let the Eagles march down the field to score the game winning TD with less than a minute left on the clock. Let them get 46 yards on the first 5 plays of that drive. 10 men on the field for the TD to Goedert too. Just a disappointing performance really on all phases of the game. A true team loss: defense, special teams, offense, and coaching.
  11. I also thought the first half play calling was questionable. So many long throws to the sideline for zero to few yards. The one time they threw it down the field it was a near completion to Robinson. It was just too conservative.
  12. Was at the game - a real gut punch. I was honestly disappointed in the defense. They allowed so many crushing third down conversions. It really deflated the crowd. They couldn’t get off the field. Not that they played bad, but I expected more. They got very little pressure - especially in key situations. In the end, playoff games are likely to be close and they were in position to win and blew it. It’s such a bummer because you just can’t expect to be in the same position next year. So many things have to go right for you to win in the NFL. They had a chance here.
  13. This is probably a meatball take, but I don't think you can just lay down and let the team you are going to play the following week stomp you.
  14. I think they are going to play everyone who is healthy.
  15. If he plays better in nationally televised games, his national standing will improve. All his national appearances have been either mediocre or bad. He had an 83 rating against Seattle, a 61 rating against the Vikings, and a 33 rating against the Rams. 7 of his twelve picks have been in nationally televised games. Those performances stick with people.
  16. I convinced myself at the time that Rex was going to get better. But then I always did that with Cutler too. So that's probably on me. I had a Rex Grossman jersey.
  17. yeah, rex's thing was the good rex/bad rex thing where he had as many 100 qb rating games as peyton manning (or something like that) either at or among the league leaders...but obviously when he was bad, he was really bad...especially in the last game against green bay when afterwards he basically was like "horsefeathers it, it's new year's eve" I was browsing through some of the 2006 season box scores (to settle a bet with a buddy) and that NYE game Rex was 2/12 for 33 yards and 3 picks. For contrast, Brad Maynard was 1/1 for 37 yards passing in the same game. I guess I forgot how ridiculous bad Rex was.
  18. Yeah and I don't know that you can just sit Mitch for a few weeks and expect him to come into a playoff game and play well.
  19. very worrying tweets from people who seemingly know what's going on. All I saw was the Deadspin article on him and Roth's tweet. Both were somewhat light hearted, so I was hoping it was nothing serious. If it was life threatening, I feel like they wouldn't talk about putting him on "injured reserve." What are you reading? Man, hope it's nothing serious.
  20. Nagy's commitment to the visor is just incredible. Wearing a visor, for a night game, when it's 20 degrees... I don't even understand.
  21. Have you ever watched football before
  22. I don't get this either. People were gushing about this yesterday.
  23. or maybe by not fumbling 12 times. Or making one read and then just freezing in the pocket in terror.
  24. This is a little meatbally and I don't have anything to really base this on but I feel like they got a little cheeky with Trubisky here and it burned them. They had success resting Robinson and Mack against teams they "should" beat. They tried to do the same with Trubisky and ended up losing a game they should have won. I'm convinced if they played the Rams yesterday, Trubisky would have been playing. If they lose next week, which is likely, all the sudden they are 8-5 with the Packers coming into town. Packers are a train wreck, but a single game against Rodgers still scares me. I think it's possible that they are 9-6 going into the last game with the Vikings on the road. Edit: Also Witzmann is going to get DESTROYED by Aaron Donald.
