  1. I get the feeling Mitch isn't going to play.
  2. That’s great coaching, imo
  3. I'm reading between the lines here but this is where I've landed. If it was a Sunday game, maybe.
  4. Awesome play. On Robinson's other touchdown, he beat the guy right off the line as well. Guy immediately put his head down to run because he was beat instantly.
  5. They aren't cutting a kicker they just gave $9mm guaranteed.
  6. I think the TB game seemed a little flukier. He was really struggling the previous 3 games (2 td / 3 int / 0 touchdowns in 2/3 games) then all the sudden he blows it out for 6 tds with guys running wide open all over the field. Since then he's had several other good games so this feels like more of a trend. For me, he just seemed more in control this game. He didn't have any of those wtf throws and several times he ran through his progressions and threw the ball where in the past I think he would have just scrambled around like a maniac.
  7. I'm baffled by the use of Mack in that game. I don't see how he would be likely to be more effective in coverage with a bum ankle than rushing the passer. This was a strange game.
  8. buttering us up before taking us to the slaugherhouse no kidding [tweet] [/tweet]Doesn't he always heap praise upon his opponents? I feel like that's his schtick. I remember him having glowing things to say about Sexy Rexy but after searching, I can't find evidence.
  9. No idea what to think about this game. Gut feel is that the Pats handle the Bears but Bears keep it respectable. I've been wrong with my pregame expectations for every game this year, though.
  10. He had a wide open WR open for an easy touchdown and missed by a mile. It was an awful throw that missed a huge opportunity early in the game. Those are not the throws he's allowed to miss. Agree. He has to make that throw - but he's realistically going to miss some. There is a development curve here. "All the D needed to do" was all of that after playing a full game in 100 degree heat with full sun beating down on them. If the defense has to fight to keep you in the game in the first half as the offense does nothing, they are going to be worn out late. The offense blew that game early. You can't come off the bye and get shutout for the half. That's brutal. The offense and the defense played under the same conditions. The D had to make a handful of plays to ice the game and they got run over. Mitch has to make every throw but the defense doesn't need to make any tackles because it was hot outside.
  11. He’s going to miss some passes. If the expectation is that he needs to be perfect, you are going to be disappointed. We’ll all expected some growing pains and he’s clearly made big strides from the first 3 games of the season. He made several elite passes on Sunday - specifically both deep passes to Gabriel. His pass to Cohen hit him perfectly in stride over he middle and allowed Cohen to rip off a huge gain. He drove the team down the field and threw a TD to give them a lead with 3 minutes left to play. It’s frankly a bizarre take to blame this game of the first half offense when the defense missed 19 tackles, allowed a complete stiff to throw for 380 yards, and let a 35 year old running back run for 100+ yards. All the D needed to do was to keep a horsefeathers offense from marching 75 yards down the field in 3 minutes for a TD and they gave up a 75 yard TD on the first play of the Dolphins possession. They lost in OT. It's perfectly fair to say that any one of about 20 things lost them the game. Not scoring in the first half is definitely one of those 20. I get that but the offense scored 28 points against a solid defense. What half they scored them in is kinda irrelevant. The offense stepped up when they needed to and put the team in a great position to win the game. The defense blew it. The defense allowed and bottom tier NFL QB to completely shred them. If I’m assigning blame, they are getting the lion’s share, imo.
  12. How many times did this actually happen? Honest question, I missed the first half. Didn't see him miss in the 2nd. He completed 70% again. From my seats I saw an egregious missed TD early. And then a few others that missed guys who could have been caught. It's been a trend all year. He had some nice throws but he also has a ton of behind the line completions. Plus another off the back foot toss that would have been a pick 6 if the DB didn't slip. I believe the offense lost that game in the first half. The defense had to work too hard early to keep it close and in that heat they were going to wear down. You can't have a scoreless half coming off the bye. The dudes holding sun shades on the bench can only do something much. 13. Both of the sideline throws to Cohen were excellent. He dropped it right into his hands and he didn't even need to break stride.
  14. Same sentiment here. I obviously knew he was a great player but I'm kinda stunned at the impact he's had. He is an absolute game changer.
  15. I almost feel like Mitch has regressed from last year to this year. I remember last year as being mostly positive for a rookie throwing to a bunch of nobodies. I don't remember the happy feet and general confusion from him. Maybe I'm mistaken.
  16. The part that annoyed me about this throw is that he saw it, then shuffled his feet, and then threw it with bad footwork. He didn't pull the trigger right away. He's too tentative.
  17. If he's legitimately bad, he'll be out of a job by December. If he's mediocre, he'll still get this year, and there will be a QB competition with Daniel next summer, and then Pace will be fired after the 2020 season, and a new GM will come in and be given a year to make it work with Nagy, using the 2021 First Round pick on a QB. This will be Nagy's last chance for an extension. So let's hope Mitch is good. Because bad Mitch will result in 3+ years of awful football with no hope for turnaround. This is what depressed me the most about the Packers game. If Mitch sucks...it's a long road ahead.
  18. Von Miller owned the Seahawks yesterday. Hopefully Mack can do the same on Monday night.
  19. The Bears offense looked lost after they finished the scripted plays. They were definitely out coached. Mitch said the following, which was pretty concerning: The Packers played zone and the Bears just called plays to target man to man defenses and just hoped for the best? Yikes. It was also a very discouraging performance from Mitch. He just turtled in the second half. He looked panicked and didn't know where to go with the ball. I think that once the defense gets up and running with Mack and Roquan, they are going to be excellent. Roquan needs to play more because Kwiatkowski got shredded in coverage.
  20. I have a feeling Mack is going to play a lot. Not sure about Roquan
  21. I saw it opened at GB -8 and after the trade is GB -7.5. I guess there isn't much of a difference between -7.5 and -9 though. Just saw it say -9 on the Yahoo Sports app. Seems like it is closer to -7.5 at many books.
  22. GB -9 seems ridiculous to me, but maybe that just shows how much of a homer I am.
  23. Not sure I love giving up 2 1st rounders if you are a team in the Bears position, but horsefeathers it, he’s a complete stud at their position of greatest need. Let’s go
  24. It is. My guess 1st and 5th in 2019. 3rd in 2020. And Nick Kwiatkoski I’m guessing two firsts and Kevin White.
