  1. wtg Wuertz! Now, let's get some runs...3 or 4 should do.
  2. Pat and Ron are back on the air! Let's go get 'em Cubs!
  3. Never thought I'd read that line on this board :D
  4. I can get used to this FIRST PLACE feeling!
  5. He may have a reason to if he hears the morons in the RF bleachers every day
  6. WHITE FLAG TIME!!! (Sure glad no one's in the office right now to hear me)
  7. Who takes walks? I was too nervous to watch. I do this all the time... How did you handle the playoffs in 03? A lot of booze... Heck, I resorted to listening to the radio feed so I'd know what happened a split second before the dish TV caught up...Oh yeah, and I paced outside on my deck between innings of game 3 because I was about to pass out.
  8. Come on Cubs...let's slam the door shut and get this W!
  9. Way to go JJ.....I bet he's hearing this standing-O!
  10. I love D-Lee but he needs to take a day off
  11. I've never seen a successful manager/coach whine as much as Tony LaRussa does. Half the time he is doing it simply to aggrevate the other team...what a DB
  12. Steve McMichael must be lurking. I'll never forgot watching the stretch from the bleachers that night. We couldn't tell what Mongo was saying, even if we weren't drunk, but man was Wrigley fired up when Angel motioned up to the booth....It was a madhouse after the Cubs won in the 9th...
  13. He might throw a no hit shutout and still manage to lose in extras. Now that's the spirit!
  14. I've never seen D-Lee take more strikes than he has in the past month. I'd really like to know what's going on with him.
  15. Considering the manifying glass that these players are under today (with Perry and Lou noticing Lee changing his hip motion at the plate for example) the Cubs would know if Z is hurt. Let's by honest, the guy is a great athlete, but isn't in the best of shape. He's going to get dehydrated on hot days if he isn't careful, and we all know he goes through ups and downs when his head isn't on straight. Hopefully this news will allow him to refocus on mowing down the Cards on Sunday.
  16. Great news to start off a Friday morning! Let's hope his recent funk was due to worrying about the contract. Now he can get back to the business of whipping the Cardinals this weekend...
  17. I was surprised to read in the paper today that we only have until today to get Vitters signed or we lose him? Boy, that would be a waste. What's going on?
  18. Well, almost woke up the kids on that one....Man, I thought Fonty had that one....Come on, Lilly. Get us back on the winning streak tomorrow!
  19. Shuffling the average position players won't get the job done. We need a healthy A-Ram and an effective D-Lee to keep us in the race or even a little bit ahead until Soriano comes back.
  20. Jake Fox for Pie Pignietello for Marshall Gallagher to the rotation. Yeah, Gallagher looked great last night.
  21. We're not really judging defense by outfield assists, are we? Aren't getting outs the objective for the defense?
  22. Yeah, there's no correlation between the Cubs resurgance in June and the fact that Soriano was named player of the month. We all know that Hendry overpaid for Zo, but there is no questioning his talent.
  23. I was at the Sox game tonight, and every time Pods came to the plate I cheered, because it meant that it hadn't been traded to the Cubs.
