  1. http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/03/01/cuban-and-the-cubs-a-match-made-in-heaven/ This was written in the NY Times about the rumor. Nothing new though. Some interesting comments below the article though. They are actually debating about Bartman. Will it never end?
  2. If you can get some bleachers for 4-21 I can help you pay for that trip :D Do you care if they are print at home for bleachers? That may be my only option. I got the ones I needed for Memorial day...and so if I get through, I'll try for them. I just got through on 5 different windows, and got all of the games I want! Wow that turned around quickly. Hopefully you didn't get those tickets yet...
  3. Am I doing something wrong here? I have about 90 windows open and can't get through. Do you keep getting the "we don't know what team you want" error? If you do, restart your windows using this url http://frontline.purchasenow.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?trxstate=8&agency=MLB&orgid=5 I have gotten it for a few of the windows. Will that effect all of them?
  4. Am I doing something wrong here? I have about 90 windows open and can't get through. No. It's all just luck. There have been years where I've been really successful and years where I couldn't get anything. I must be the most unlucky person ever. I have been stuck with Reds or Pirates games in the cold for about 3 years now.

  7. thats what I am trying to get. I can't get in for the life of me!!
  8. It happened to one of the windows I have open, but the rest are fine.
  9. 400 level rocks Great posting. Sorry I should have said upper deck box, but the name escaped me at the moment.
  10. I always go bleachers. Any suggestions for where to sit if I can't get bleachers for the games I want? I think I have sat in the 400 level and loved it before.
  11. My girlfriend and her roomies made fun of me a bit last night. She hasn't been with me for a Cubs season yet, so I am not too sure she knows what she has ahead of her. However she did make it through the ND season Ok, so that may be a good sign. Also I am trying to get tickets to any Saturday game in Apr or May so I can take her to her first game. If anyone will be trying to get rid of any of those tickets let me know, in case I don't get through at all (like last year).
  12. For the first time this year I will have multiple computers in the same house to use, which leads me to this question: Will it work if I have 5 different computers all running off the same wireless router? I am pretty computer illiterate, and don't know if they block it to allow only one computer per modem or anything like that. Thanks in advance for the help.
  13. If they had no problem with him visiting KSU, then why did they tell him they would move in a different direction if he visited ND, even though he was 'honest and upfront'? Also Smith's father said that they initiated the contact with ND in the summer, and Smith himself said he was just waiting for an offer from ND, but none came until the new DC took over.
  14. what a d-bag. That sounds awfully hollow after ND just took two recruits who had previously committed to Iowa and Louisville. Different situations. The Iowa recruit consisted pretty much of ND offering and him changing his mind due to the offer. The Louisville recruit was a coaching change, i.e. the coaching change that cost ND a bunch of recruits in 2004-05. However, ND's far from innocent of this. There's a Washington Post article today in which former QB coach Peter Vaas was pursuing Arrelious Benn pretty aggressively after he was committed to Illinois. Funny how it's almost always a different situation when ND is involved. Smith had been committed for almost 6 months and taken multiple visits. He helped recruit others to Iowa. The point is Charlie puts on a face for the cameras that he's all about committment and being honorable about them. He's upset that someone would back out of a committment to him. Yet he has no dilemna's when it comes to trying to snatch away commits from other schools, the very week before signing day. What a man of principle. I don't think many if any in the ND fanbase would consider Weis a "true man of principle". He is from the Belicheck school, that is for sure-and unfortunately, that means they cut certain corners to win. I think he is a great coach, but I'm not sure I like the man. Oh no, what did they do hire a bunch of guys as assistant coaches who are friends with a previously committed to another school's recruit? Now that would be a corner cut. You mean hiring a qualified assistant who happens to know the primary area to recruit very well, and so would be a big help to the program's stated desire (and the fanbase's biggest wish) to get in-state recruiting back to what it used to be? I was very happy with the hire, and didn't even know he was friends with that particular recruit until weeks later. I just thought I would mention that I read yesterday that Vaas is being hired by UNC.
  15. Samardzija at 13 is a bit of a surprise. I thought so too. I just don't see him as the second best receiver in the draft.
  16. Kiper's most recent Big Board
  17. Good. Aldridge should be playing. If he stayed it would be comparable to (though not as bad, at least Walker has some talent) the Grant/Jones debacle under Ty, IMO. Do you think TT may make a move back to RB?
  18. http://boifromtroy.com/archives/notre%20dame%20mascot.JPG Not all the Irish mascots are white.
  19. I made that same point in another thread on college football. Herbstreit was talking about that yesterday. Both Tressel and Meyer said they really hadn't seen the other teams play. I am sure that is the same for most coaches and teams not in their conference/on their schedule. Weis has said in the past that many coaches just have their assistants do the rankings. The coaches poll is a joke.
  20. The question I have for everybody is that if everyone expects ND to get blown out, if LSU wins the bowl game in a very close game, does that mean ND is better than you thought they were? Ummmm...was that directed to me? No, sort of an add-on to your comment that everyone is predicting a huge blowout-not directed at you whatsoever. Good. Because I see ND winning this one. And I really hope they do. I am real sick of all my friends talking about how overrated ND is. I will admit they are - somewhat - but if ND can win this, hopefully it will shut a lot of people up (not directed to anyone on this board). Was 92 their last Sugar Bowl? For some reason I am thinking they went again in 93.

  22. All of this talk about ND being a huge underdog, and not having a chance reminds me of the Cheerios Bowl (92 Sugar). Hopefully the results are the same.
  23. Didn't see it posted yet, but Tressel didn't vote in this weeks poll. Anyone thing Meyer being so outspoken recently could play a part in Florida gaining on Michigan? Also when do they release how each coach voted?
  24. Boise St. in a BCS bowl would be a travesty. Outside of an early win against Oregon St, they have played absolutely no one. Just because a team goes undefeated against a high school schedule does not entitle them to a BCS game. Although it would be kind of fun to watch them get massacred. you have to feel bad for them though. That program has done a great job in recruiting and building a good team....not their fault that the rest of the conference is a joke. I think it's elitist to say that only teams from the 6 BCS conferences should be allowed to play in a BCS game. Boise St. has been pretty well punished in both the polls and computer, but staying undefeated has forced them in there. If they lose today, then no problem, they go to the whatever bowl. If ND loses tonight, would you still put them in as an at-large over BSU? If they are punished by both the Polls and the Computers, doesn't that actually mean something? That they face weak competition and they really aren't that good? I sorta agree that it would be an embarrassment to see them in the BCS. They'll get steamrolled. If they want to go, let them go, but they will get destroyed. Also, LOL, ND is pretty bad. Notre Dame's victories are about on par with Boise State. In fact, has Charlie Weis really beaten any quality opponent? Just a team who is likely to be their conference winner in a major conference this year with a chance to beat a 2nd conference winner tonight. What throws a monkey wrench into it is a 3 or 4 loss team or 2 that wins the Conference Championship. The Big East could screw it up too as they only have 8 teams and that increases the chances for a 3 loss team like Pitt a couple of years ago . It's not just limited to the Big East. Look at Florida State last year. ETA: Georgia Tech could lose today, win the ACC championship game, and go into a BCS bowl with 3 losses. Did they have the best record along with winning the ACC Championship? No-if they lose today, and come back and win the ACC championship-Georgia Tech will be in with 3 losses, but Virginia Tech with 2 losses won't even play in the ACC title game. That's of course because Georgia Tech's losses would have mostly come OOC. The Big XII could have Nebraska win and go with several losses-also, if Oklahoma State comes back today, then no team in the Big XII will have less than 3 losses. There is a rule in the BCS that says that a conference winner can be excluded from a BCS game, in case something like that happens.
