I have no reason to believe that Soriano will treat October any differently. I'm not confident enough to say that he would have hustled down the line. Other than he's a competitive athlete and it's the playoffs, I'm sure the reasoning on which you base your assumption is more sound. My reasoning is a pattern of behavior exhibited over the past couple seasons. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but I think Soriano's ego may outweigh his competitiveness. -

Bob's a dick. He's all about that old school nonsense. yes nonsense like actually running when you hit the ball. It's a double header and he's getting a double or a HR. Big friggen deal. You really think what Soriano did is okay? No, it's not ok. But context is everything. Bob loves to make a point on the hustle stuff. He's a former manager and, as a manager, that's one of the few things you truly have control over. Players are going to make physical and mental mistakes, but there is no reason they shouldn't be able to give a respectable effort.

Unless he's planning on extending Harden in the 2nd due to his extra rest and the fact that his last start was "only" 93 pitches. He better not be planning on extending Harden until October.

Not a bad idea, but I'd say just let Edmonds finish the game and then start Johnson in Game 2, since he hasn't played in awhile.

What was with the Cubs fans booing when Carpenter left the game? It sounded like slightly more cheers than boos, but still I think booing a pitcher in that situation is a little uncalled for, especially when he has pitched a decent game.

I'm pretty sure the Brewers are going to win every remaining game this year except those against the Cubs. Apparently nobody else can beat them.

I don't think there is a curfew for National League games. FWIW, they just said on the radio that 1am is the latest an inning can begin. That can't be right. The Rockies and Padres(?) game earlier this year was being played at like 2 in the morning their time wasn't it?? I think so... do they abide by city curfews?
