  1. I'm not sure how I feel about the home plate collision ban. I definitely support the idea behind the change, but will withhold judgment until I read exactly how the rule is going to be implemented.
  2. Eh, it's a fair question. Cutler is obviously the better quarterback long term, but can a less than 100% Cutler step in and give the team a better chance to win right now? I don't know what the answer is.
  3. This is Podlesh's best game in years.
  4. You mean the one where the defensive player jumped and launched his helmet at Marshall's helmet?
  5. That is too bad. I really wanted to see him make it back to the big leagues, even if only for one game.
  6. Apparently the Cowboys defensive backs were guarding the back of the end zone and giving Bennett the front half. This has been a defensive clinic so far.
  7. I had a successful relocation day as well. I wanted to stay in the same price level (Terrace Box Outfield), but move as close to the infield as possible. I picked out new seats that were in Row 3 and almost as close to the infield as you can get, with the only downside being they were 12 seats deep and up against a concourse tunnel, meaning there was only one way out. When I got up to the table to buy the tickets, I found out that they had been tagged inappropriately and weren't available. I was then referred to a manager who was eventually able to find me seats in the same section, Row 2, and on the aisle. That was pretty much the best possible outcome and I expect these to be the seats I will keep long term. I don't think I can do any better without jumping up to the next price level, so I'm extremely satisfied with my row 2 borderline infield seats.
  8. Does Coomer have any nicknames? I imagine they would try to avoid "Pat and Ron" references.
  9. I would surely put a lot of stock into a recommendation from a guy that was terrible at his job.
  10. So even if Rose misses significant time, I take it this is potentially good news long term? Or at least better than the worst case scenario.
  11. When I think hitting, I think Mike Brumley!
  12. I don't remember exactly how they broke down the math on the slide (if they did), but weren't they counting the $25 Million that rooftop owners are making? If so, that is very fuzzy math because the rooftop money is not necessarily money that would go in the Cubs pocket if the rooftops didn't exist. After the Wrigley renovations are complete and new TV deals are in place, I don't ever want to hear this type of excuse again to justify why they can't build a winning team.
  13. Robbie Gould may very well be the worst onside kicker in league history.
  14. What do you mean by this?
  15. Only if he can be announced as "former Cubs great Doug Glanville."
  16. According to Peter Gammons (insert obligatory grain of salt reference), the Cubs will announce their manager tomorrow. I am still hoping for a complete curveball hiring of Dave Martinez, but it appears Renteria will be the guy.
  17. I still think Mark Grace would be a good choice for radio analyst and he has certainly done enough to lower his value over the past year that he would be happy to take a radio gig. Whether the Cubs are willing to take that PR risk, and whether it is in Grace's best interest to put himself back in Wrigleyville, are two pretty big question marks though.
  18. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Sorry, that had been building up for awhile.
  19. IIRC just a few million bucks That was only a week's pay for Milt Rosenberg.
  20. I wouldn't count on that, but the good news is that MLB.tv is better anyway.
  21. I am amazed by all the negative responses to the article on the Tribune website. Apparently the Cubs are supposed to accept below market value TV deals so that some guy living in a trailer in Florida can continue watching the games for free. I guess that is what I get for reading the comments section of a Tribune article.
  22. If McCown was a little younger he might be setting himself up for a Matt Cassel contract.
  23. I'm not sure I would consider losing one of the best players in the NFL on the first possession of the game a break.
