  1. Whenever I start to get upset about Clayton Richard, I just think... Hey, at least we don't have James Shields.
  2. I hope Gerrit Cole is getting a good view of this series.
  3. Good thing the ESPN crew is singing the 7th inning stretch because they haven't got enough camera time yet.
  4. Also, don't take Grimm out after one batter to put Richard in.
  5. That's two walks today for Baez. Someone get him that baseball!
  6. That was the most stressful inning to watch on Gameday in quite some time.
  7. The Pirates have already been doing a pretty good job of that themselves.
  8. What about Szczur? He's already back, no? He is, but is he out of options?
  9. What about Szczur?
  10. Montero has always seemed like a good clubhouse guy, and if anyone can manage this situation it would be Maddon, but I still wonder how Montero will respond to only starting 1 or 2 games out of 5.
  11. This is going to be an impossible inning with that strike zone.
  12. Base runners not caught stealing? Aka, all of them
  13. I still don't get it, but I didn't see the full play yesterday. What was the call on the field and how did it differ from an appeal? There isn't much to get and its a stupid rule. Before Hammel steps on the mound Zobrist needed to tell the umpire they were appealing. He didn't so the play counted and Smith was called out "incidentally" kind of like being picked off. OK, I give up. My peon brain fails to understand the concept of being out incidentally.
  14. It's a dumb administrative rule. You have to let the umpire know you're appealing for the run to not have been counted. I had this happen in a college game and my manager went ape [expletive]. I still don't get it, but I didn't see the full play yesterday. What was the call on the field and how did it differ from an appeal?
  15. I have no idea what Len is talking about with regard to the appeal at second base. Did that make sense to anyone else?
