  1. In what bizarro bullpen is Chatwood the only guy who throws strikes?
  2. What a time to promote the Season Ticket Holder waiting list. You too can throw away thousands of dollars to watch this crap in person!
  3. Am I allowed to say that, despite giving up a few hits, Chatwood didn't look as awful as I expected?
  4. Cubs pitchers need to stop stabbing at balls up the middle. It almost never ends well.
  5. What is John Lackey up to these days?
  6. What in the horsefeathering world. He forgot Russell.
  7. Theo is getting paid way too much to put this pile of horsefeathers team on the field. This is his doing. Not Joe or Tom or anyone else.
  8. I don't know (or care) who goes down, but if all the relievers are going to walk everyone anyway, at least get Maples up here.
  9. The Cubs are on a mission to singlehandedly kill Manfred's pace of play improvement attempts.
  10. Well, good for Bote I guess. He went from essentially a nobody with no MLB future to set for life within the span of a year.
  11. The core is in place... Hendricks, Bote, and Heyward
  12. Combine the three and and they might be good for half as many home runs as Bryce Harper.
  13. Maybe the lineups were created a week in advance, you know, to make sure everyone can prepare adequately.
  14. I'm slightly annoyed that Schwarber isn't starting, but I don't think this is necessarily a sign that he won't get significant time against LHP. If it wasn't Opening Day, I assume Heyward would be the one sitting.
  15. I have the same fear. Hi is my favourite pitcher on the team by far, but his long term projection scares me since he has so little room for regression in his velocity. With that said, I absolutely see the need to lock him up for awhile. Lester and Hamels are both toward the end and Quintana and Darvish are both question marks, so this helps stabilize a portion of the rotation for the foreseeable future. Even if Hendricks regresses somewhat, the numbers in this deal don't look bad for a middle of the rotation starter. I'm just glad the Cubs finally did "something."
  16. Don't worry. Last year's power outage being a fluke for Bryant is just one of the dozen things the Cubs are counting on going right.
